I have an OBS, 20G Ipod color display. Recently, I decided to use it to connect to my 2012 chevy cruze through my car's USB port. It plays for about a minute then a message displays on my cars screen saying device cannot be identifyed and it stops playing. After that, I figued maybe my Ipod needs an update. The software is version 1.2.1 and my itunes is saying my ipod is up to date, which I know isn't true. My ipod also says the format is Windows, which may be a problem as I now have a Mac.
I have the latest itunes and I have a Mac OS X 10.9.2.
I have also noticed my ipod making a clicking sound while it's connected to my mac. It continues to click after I unplugged it as well for a good few minutes while displaying "do not disconnect" with the big red symbol across. When the clicking fully stopped, the "do not disconnect" message went away and I was able to get back into my ipod.
Now, I realize my device is very old. But are there any suggestions for my situation? Ultimately, I want to use it in my car since my android is not recognized by my cars USB port.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I can't update the downloaded app while can install the new other app

I can't update the downloaded app while my id and password is correct. When I complete the password, it seems updating app but nothing change and it takes only shot time. But I can do the same for install other new app from iTunes with no problem. So now my phone has lots of unupdated app.
Before this problem occur, my appleID has a problem. It can't sign in although I fill the correct password. It bring me to answer security question but it's wrong. So I choose to unlock my Apple ID by reset password via reserved email. It can complete the process but seems to be I create the new Apple ID although that ID is same as the previous one. After that I can't update app anymore.

If you're a school, Apple has a trade-in program for educational institutions you could look into to upgrade to newer iPods:

Otherwise there's nothing Apple could tell you other than sell the iPods or find a reseller willing to accept them on trade. A first-generation iPod touch will not run any version of iOS later than 3.1.3, and a second generation iPod touch nothing later than 4.2.1. There are still apps that run on those versions, but they're getting fewer and fewer. Getting newer iPods is going to be your only avenue to being able to run more current apps. And if you do, I'd advise expecting only a two-year lifespan out of them, at least as far as keeping up with the latest version of iOS and apps is concerned.

Can hear noise while X-fi is switched

I just got a 8gb Zen X-fi and when I switch it off I can hear noise coming from the headphones. It's not loud but noticeable if you're in a quiet room. When I switch it back on again I can't hear it anymore. I was wondering is this supposed to be normal? (I'm guessing it's not). It seems that if I were to keep the headphones plugged in while it's switched off and leave it overnight for example there would be some impact on the battery... because the **bleep** thing is still "on" in a way.

The AudioConsole would be more than enough. It comes with the drivers, you can adjust all settings and is pretty simple.

You can't update over the air unless you're already running iOS 5 or higher. You can update using iTunes. You WILL need a SIM, but it does not have to be tied to active service.

A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:

After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:

Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).
Next, use the 10.6.8 Combo Updater to update Snow Leopard. You can now access the App Store to purchase and download Lion. Before you install Lion you should read the following:

1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.

3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that you can use without having to re-download Lion.

I am using teamviewer to remote connect to my office Imac from home. However, every time I connected, my imac screen will turn on and everyone else in the office can see what my imac is doing..

Energy Saver, you can keep the computer awake while the screen saver shuts the monitor off but I'm not sure that would do it for you.

First, you need to know what you need. And somehow you will have to get your parents' Mac connected to find out what they need.
Then you can download individual updates from Apple Support. Click on View All Support Downloads in the upper right corner.
Word of caution: you don't need to constantly update the machine, in fact it's better if you don't, esp. if the machine is working properly. Check a couple of times a year; decide whether or not you really need the updates. Apply only what you need. If you poke around the forums you will discover that a lot of people cause themselves their own problems by doing automatic updates and/or not researching the update(s) first, and/or not thinking through what they're doing.
