Can't update FCPX to 10.0.3.

App store says all programs up to date, but FCP still stuck at 10.0.  What needs to happen?

Hi innocentius:
Thank you for the prompt reply.  I am thinking this is a general problem as I tried to download the Lion update, 10.7.3 using the combo download to avoid the multiple problems they were having and it downloaded fine but when it came the time to install it aborted saying ..."none of the selected updates could be installed, an unexpected error ocurred"  I just don't understand, never had this troble before.
I've done disc permissions, and no needs for repair.  My Lion 10.7.2 is working perfectly well, FCPX 10.0.2 works perfectly well.
they say that by downloading the new OSX update also reinstalls a new AppStore app but I can't do it???
How about starting in Safe Mode is that advisable????
This ONYX program that you mention could it help??? I'm to the point that I try anything
Thank You

  • If people are shouting that FCPX isn't 'pro'. Can an update fix it?

    Oke, I've read through a great deal of feedback on these forums now.
    I see some comments:
    1) Lack of import options
    2) MPG2 support
    3) Plugin support
    4) Whatever more
    Now my question is: CAN AN UPDATE FIX THIS?
    Say that Apple can fix most complaints in an update, would you be happy then?
    YES: Then the foundation for FCPX is good enough and I'll wait for an update
    NO: Then it really is unfixable and 'as you call it', an iMovie+, beyond resque. In that case i'll look further

    MPEG2 is terrible to edit with, but native support for it could be helpful in some situations (say you need to quickly pull footage off of a DVD without major hassle), but I see that as more of a luxury—it wasn't supported natively in FCP7, and I never really missed it.
    The real question is how long it takes Apple to reinstate the functionality that was lost in the switch from 7 to X—and more importantly IF they decide to reinstate the functionality that we need. I think probably XML interchange (or something like it) will be coming soon, and multicam shortly thereafter. Third parties will start writing plugins for the new architecture, so my guess is that legacy FXPlug plugins will never be supported. Still, there's a huge laundry list of things that FCPX can't do right now, and it seems generous to think that all that functionality could be added back even within 18 months' time—and by then, FCP7 will be nearly four years old and crawling around on its hands and knees.
    Other things, I'm not sure I can imagine them being fixed. The new interface seems to discourage organizing audio into tracks (as in, Dialogue 1, Music, SFX, etc.), so my guess is that OMF support will always be sketchy at best, and probably only offered as a paid third-party option. The interface seems to defy customizability, and I can't see Apple devoting the resources that would be required to fix that. External monitoring is a bit of a wildcard. It's such a glaring omission that Apple may have to include it, but it's also possible that they'll leave it up to third parties to develop ways to monitor out (for an additional cost, of course).
    There's also the question of whether these will be free updates, or whether additional functionality from Apple will be priced a-la-carte, driving the cost of a working NLE back up to $800-1200, where it used to be. I'm willing to pay more than $300 for a good 64-bit version of FCP, but I've already sunk thousands into FCP, and the lack of a direct upgrade path really irks me.
    Again, this is all provided that Apple decides to give us the features we need.
    What it boils down to for me is the attitude with which Apple has treated this release—with an utter lack of disrespect for the people that depend on FCP for serious—and COLLABORATIVE—work, handing off timelines to Da Vinci colorists and Flame artists, shooting EDLs off to negative cutters, that sort of thing. Apple's response to our concerns so far has been worse than dismissive, and that alone is enough to make me want to switch to Premiere.

  • I updated FCPX to 10.9 after I had updated my os to 10.9.1. And the result is that FCPx can no longer read LaCie external hard drive where all the projects and events are stored. The program simply crashes every time I try to read anything from the LaCie.

    Could anyone tell me what to do to solve the problem. I updated FCPX to 10.9 and the program keeps on crash every time I try to read files stored in my LaCie hard drive. And the program also keeps on crash every time I try to import files from my SDXC cards.

    I have solved the problem. Once the update is done, you need to launch FCPX, and go to File, then "update all events and projects". It will solve the problem and everything works fine.

  • Trying to update FCPX but it says it's already installed but it isn't

    I am trying to update FCPX on one of our MacPro Tower (not trash can / Cylinder ) computers.
    It is running FXP X 10.1.x.
    When I try to download FCPX 10.2 from the App Store it says I already have it installed... IT ISN"T.
    I thought well maybe I need to reinstall OSX ...maybe that would help....
    so I tried to do that and I got an error message that I am not connected to the internet.
    I  AM... and its working fine.
    Both the WiFi and the Ethernet connections are fine.
    So I am not sure what is going on here.
    I am having trouble connecting to APPLE. for some reason.
    I am using my apple ID on several computers since I am the Administrator over these 4 Mac Pros and a MacBook Pro laptop.
    I am not having any issues except with this one computer for some reason.
    any ideas?

    Ok... I plugged my ethernet cable into a different connection on the wall... and I got through... however now it says that Apple can't find the Installation information about my computer and to contact apple care... my apple care has expired on this computer I'm pretty sure....
    this is getting pretty frustrating.

    what is "locate the problem library from the File>New Library menu" mean? Should i open a new library? but i got a project in my library,it's due on April 30th, i wanna continue working on it.

    Thank you!

  • Can i use fcpx on os 10.8.5

    due to other apps i have on my mbp, i'm not quite ready to update to mavericks.  can i use fcpx on os 10.8.5?

    No. The only app available from the App Store in 10,1, which requires 10.9.
    Consider creating a 10.9 volume on another drive and boot form that. Download to the 10.9 volume.

  • Why i can't run fcpx on iMac 3.06 Ghz core 2 duo with 16Gb ram?

    I Can't run FCPX on my iMac.
    It's working in theory, but it's stopping playback even without any effect, (video frames were dropped during playback - message), i can't preview any effect, as loading preview taking for ever.
    I recently upgrade RAM from 4Gb to 16Gb 1067 Mhz DDr3, and I thought that's make a difference but not.
    I have latest Lion 10.8.1 update. FCPX ver 10.0.5.
    I try to work on 1080 video files located on main HDD , not external. they are from digital camera, 1920 x 1080, 1080p and codecs H264 linear PCM, 29.97 fps stereo.
    Any suggestion?

    You have loads of power so something is not  OK.
    Is your internal HD more than 80% full?
    For a start trash your preferences using http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
    Incidentally if you are using 50p/60p footage, that could be the problem especially on an internal HD.
    You should always transcode 50p/60p AVCHD to ProRes 422.
    Do that and I am sure you will see an improvement.

  • How can I update my app store account ?

    Hi, I have a new Iphone and I wanted to add some applications from apple store.
    Unfortunately, I had a message saying that I was using app store on a new device (true) and they needed to check some security thing from my visa card. Unfortunately, I had a new  card and do not have the previous one anylonger (the previous one expires in 1 year but had to be cancelled).
    Therefore I am blocked and cannot get into my account.
    How can I update my bank account and get into the apple store again ?
    Thanks
    Nadiege

    Great, it worked. i could update the account from the laptop (but not from the phone).
    Many thanks for such a swift feedback !!

    In the future Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
    how can i update my table automatically at run time so tat, my table is
    updated whenever a new object is entered into vector..You don't update the Vector directly. You should be creating a method in your TableModel, called "addRow(...)". This method will do two things:
    a) add the Student object to the Vector
    b) invoke the fireTableRowsInserted(..) method of AbstractTableModel. This will cause the table to be repainted.

  • HT1212 I am unable to get our of a continuous cycle when trying to update or restore my iPad 2. Plug in to iTunes 12.0.1 (latest version). Click update, told can't update, have to restore. Restore fails with error 9. Any help appreciated.

    When I tried to update my iPad I got an error 9. Now, I am unable to access my iPad. It is in a continuous cycle when I try to update or restore the iPad 2. Plug in to iTunes 12.0.1 (latest version). Click update, told can't update, have to restore. Restore fails with error 9. Any help appreciated.
    Here's the cycle:
    I plug in my iPad when “cable to iTunes shows on iPad screen. It says "Your iPad can't be updated, you must restore it to factory settings." That bad enough news, but it gets worse.
    Click Restore
    Extracting software…
    Preparing iPad for restore
    Waiting for iPad…
    Verifying iPad restore with Apple…
    (empty bar under the Apple logo…does not show any activity)
    “The iPad “iPad” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9).”
    Notes: I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) in the last week. It’s the first time I’m tried to backup/update my iPad since the iMac update.
    I swapped out the USB cable to a new cable and get the same results.
    I also unplugged all other USB devices from the iMac and security on my iPad and still get the same results.
    I find it strange that it shows no Serial number for my my iPad 2 when plugged in. It shows “Serial Number: n/a on the screen when it displays: “iPad Recovery Mode To update your iPad without erasing its contents, click Update. To restore your iPad to its factory settings, click Restore iPad.
    I prefer to update my iPad, but it displays “Your iPad can’t be updated, you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPad, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes.”
    It’s a continuous loop. I get the display on my iPad to plug in the iPad to iTunes, plug it in which ends after going through the above procedure saying an error occurred (9).
    So now I cannot use my iPad. When I turn it on I get the display showing me to plug it into iTunes with the cable. Since this is the only option I have I plug it in and the loop begins.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello jaybearden,
    Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

    Couple of pointers.
    1 - use [ code ] tags to post code
    2 - that is WAY too much code for more than a cursory glance. You're lucky the problem was easy to spot.
    Your problem lies in your edit JSP form:
    <td>Product Name:</td>
    <td><input name="description" type="text" value="<jsp:getProperty name="inventoryBean" property="item" />"></td>Note that the name of the input field is different from the jsp property you are populating it with.
    In fact, all of your input fields have a name of "description"
    I would recommend on your inventory_admin.jsp page that you put the following debugging code to make sure that the parameter values come through and are set correctly.
      out.println("name = param: " + request.getParameter("name") + "bean = " + inventoryBean.getName() + "<BR>");
      out.println("description = param:" + request.getParameter("description") + "bean = " + inventoryBean.getDescription() + "<BR>");

  • Can not update request in data target

    Hi,
    We have a process chain for master data (10 parallel) loads.  One of the load
    failed with error "can not update request REQU_46xxxxxxxxxxxxxx in data target".
    When I checked the InfoPackage
    (a) update: full load
    (b) it has data selection
    (c) processing :PSA and then to data targets
    (d) Data targets: update in all data targets for which active rules exist.
    But I do not see any list of data targets here.
    Can some one please suggest me how do I correct this load failure.
    Thanks

  • Can not update tab if its not the default sub-tab.

    Can not update tab if its not the default sub-tab.
    JDeveloper Version 10.1.2.1.0 (Build 1913)
    Hi. I have a problem with a “lovOpenWindowAction”
    The UIX is created with a master UIX and have several sub-tab that is included as UIX-pages.
    The lovOpenWindowAction lies in the included UIX-page
    The sub-tab I have a problem with has a table with users. Then I have a “Create New” button than I want to click on and select a new user that should be included in the table in the sub-tab.
    When I click on the button I open a LOV-window. Here I select the user that I want to add.
    In the LOV Action-class I save my new value in the database. Then in the method “onLovUpdate” I update the iterator with the new values from the database.
    But in my GUI the subtab is not updated until I click on it.
    But if I make the subtab the default subtab then it all works just fine and the GUI is updated directly.
    Here is the code for the tableAction in the subtab. This code lies in an included UIX-page. Target is the table id.
    <tableActions>
    <button text="Create New" id=" createNewRollperson" accessKey="N">
    <primaryClientAction>
    <lovOpenWindowAction destination="FiskeRollpersonerLOV.do"
    source=" createNewRollperson "
    targets="joinedRollpersfiskeer message"/>
    </primaryClientAction>
    </button>
    </tableActions>
    Here is some code from the master UIX-page
    <subTabLayout id="flikar">
    <subTabs>
    <subTabBar selectedIndex="${ui:defaulting(param.index,0)}">
    <contents>
    <link id="resorFlik" text="Resor"
    disabled="${sessionScope.fiske.id == null}"
    selected="${(param.source == 'resorFlik') or empty param.source}">
    <primaryClientAction>
    <firePartialAction event="changeTab" targets="flikar globalHeader">
    <parameters>
    <parameter key="source" value="resorFlik"/>
    </parameters>
    </firePartialAction>
    </primaryClientAction>
    </link>
    <link id="rollpersonerFlik" text="Rollpersoner"
    disabled="${sessionScope.fiske.id == null}"
    selected="${param.source == 'rollpersonerFlik'}">
    <primaryClientAction>
    <firePartialAction event="changeTab" targets="flikar globalHeader">
    <parameters>
    <parameter key="source" value="rollpersonerFlik"/>
    </parameters>
    </firePartialAction>
    </primaryClientAction>
    </link>
    </contents>
    </subTabBar>
    </subTabs>
    <contents>
    <switcher childName="${param.source}"
    defaultCase=”ResorFlik">
    <case name="resorFlik">
    <include node="${ctrl:parsePage(uix, 'includes/ResorFlik')}"/>
    </case>
    <case name="rollpersonerFlik">
    <include node="${ctrl:parsePage(uix, 'includes/FiskeRollpersonerFlik')}"/>
    </case>
    </switcher>
    </contents>
    </subTabLayout>
    What am I missing?? I can’t have this subtab as the default subtab! Please help me with a solution!

    hi,
    Change the condition type to manual entry.
    or
    for example delivery costs will be different at the time of PO and actual delivery costs then at the time of invoice we select planned delivery costs and settle them first with the actual delivery cost.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran
