Can´t update ipad 2 on ios 5.1.1

I can´t update my ipad, it always says that theres an unknown error, I also tried updating it using itunes but it doesn't work either, anyone can help?

Sometimes ... And I stress .... Sometimes .... The unknown error seems to be an iTunes authorization issue - from what I have seen .... So try this.
Go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if you can update the iOS.

Hello, couple of days ago me and my partner bought IPad 2 16gb off eBay, everything works fine apart from it is on iOS 6 and when I try to update if through iPad or our windows computer it doesn't let me. On iPad it says that it got error while searching for updates and when trying from computer it says that I don't have permission to do that.
I have tried restarting/restoring(didn't work as it popped up error saying that don't have permission again). Been on phone with apple customer services and still no luck. Don't think it's jailbroken as I checked for the signs that would mean that it has.
Hope it makes any sense and maybe anyone has any idea at all as I am completely stuck here.

Relocate iOS device backups
Assuming you're running Windows Vista or later you can use the following steps:
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command (on one line) and press <Enter>
Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command (on one line) and press <Enter>
MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your target drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
In some cases (perhaps depending on what builds of iTunes were installed in the past) it seems the folder is in the \Local\ branch of AppData rather than \Roaming\ in which case edit to suit.
If you're still running Windows XP you can use Junction (cmd line tool) or NTFSLink (shell ext). In both cases you move the existing folder to a new location, create an empty folder where the old one used to be, then use the tools to get the operating system to link the two together and silently redirect any file operation on the old location through to the new one.
Note that while this method works for iOS device backups it cannot be used to redirect sections of the media library.
If your iTunes library is on the C:\ drive with the media folder held elsewhere then see also make a split library portable.

Verizon iPhones are GSM unlocked by default, so get a SIM and try it.
