Can´t update logic Pro 9.0.0 to 9.1.3

Hi
I have a problem updating logic pro. I was wondering, my version is still 9.0.0 and the automatic update never find any updates for logic. So I downloaded the update manually, but I receive a massage...that there is no logic 9.0 on the system and I can´t update...very funny, because there definitely is a logic 7, 8, and 9 on the system working.
Anyone with an idea out there?
Thanks
Mitsch

As well as being in the Applications folder, you MUST NOT rename the app. It has to be "Logic Pro.app" or the updater will not find the file.

...or just *Logic Pro* (if you have the .app suffix disabled systemwide, which I believe to be the default in OS X)

can i update logic pro 9 to x or do i have to rebuy it?

The full price of Logic Pro was reduced during the life of Logic Pro 9 to be only a fraction of the original price.  Thus, the full price today is still cheaper than the old model for upgrade prices.  Net result - just buying the new version when one comes out (e.g. Logic Pro X) costs about the same, if not less than upgrades did in the past, but with the added bonus that if you're a new customer, you pay a far cheaper price first time round.
    Everyone's a winner!

  • Can't update Logic pro X

I am using Logic Pro X 10.0.5 and would like to upgrade to 10.0.7 to fix bugs in the software. I can not find a way to upgrade from the app store or the software. How can I upgrade?

I don't own it, so I can't say, but as an example, I own Aperture (also considered a pro app) and incremental updates (from 3.3 to 3.4 for instance) have been free updates; a new version 4 however would need to be purchased. As the OP's version is 10.0.5 and the current version is 10.0.7, it is reasonable to assume that this would be a free update - or is Apple charging $199.99 for an .02 update?
Again, normally there is no charge for an incremental update... as incremental updates are free unless maybe, a major new feature is added....
Logic Pro 9 to Logic Pro X... You buy the new App at the same price as anyone else... whether they previously owned Logic Pro 9 or not. In the USA the cost is $199.
Logic Pro X 10.0.5 to 10.0.7 - No charge at all.
See my previous post as to the likely reasons the OP cannot update from 10.0.5 to 10.0.7
Tip: (in the hope you take this in the spirit it is intended..)
Its best not to offer advice unless you know what you are talking about.... Logic Pro is a very specialized app and so offering advice without actually using the program and knowing how it works.. is likely to cause more confusion and misunderstandings rather than help.

  • How can I update Logic Pro X offline

How can I update my Logic Pro X on my 27" iMac at my project studio withouth internet access? I obviously moved the huge iMac to the studio after installing Logic Pro X, but I don’t intend to move it from the studio to my home whenever I need to update software.
Also there is virtually no 3G coverage in the area, so tethering is not an option either.
Will there be offline updates available (couldn’t find any at support.apple.com/downloads)? Or do I have to always copy the Logic Pro X.app from one of my Macbook Pros onto a USB stick to overwrite the Logic version on my studio iMac?
    Thanks, Josh

My best guess...and it's only a guess but it is based on other Pro Apps and how Apple have handled them along with what seems to be Apple's roadmap for OS X in the next few years.. is as follows.....
Logic Pro 9 was sold as both a physical item (Logic Studio 2.0) and a download from the Mac App Store. Because some users could buy it as a physical item at one point in  time, Apple continued to provide updates that could be downloaded as individual files (outside of the online Update system) and then could be physically transported to the Mac that has L9 installed.
Now LPX is only available as a download item from the Mac App Store, and the only way one can (officially) download/install LPX on a mac.. is to use the internet...the only way updates can be done is online too, via the Mac App Store online update system. Add to this the fact that Mavericks does all updates automatically without the need for User intervention and I can see why Apple have taken this path.
So, my guess is there will be no offline update files...(Unless Apple have a major change of direction with Mavericks.....) and it seems your "USB stick" method may be the one of the few practicals way of updating LPX on a Mac..when you have no internet at that location.
My method to get around the problem that one of my studios are in a location where the internet is poor... is to install OS X and Logic onto a fast external HD and boot from that. I then take that HD to another location which has a good internet connection, connect it to a Mac and boot it up and update it there. On two occasions I have even taken it to my nearest Apple store and they have happily allowed me to use their bandwidth and a Mac to achieve this. The advantage of this method is that both the OS X and Logic can be updated at the same times along with any other related content or 3rd party plugins/content.. which may or may not be updated in the future.

  • How can I update Logic Pro 9.1.6 to 9.1.8?

I have tried to download software from online that Apple directed me to get 9.1.8, but that said I could only update by using the app store. But there is no Logic pro 9 in the app store anymore. Is there a way?  It's not even in the purchased tab.
(ps I am trying to update because I read that the update makes it behave with Mavericks)
    Thanks!

    Dnlsan,
Do not miss out any of these steps and do them in this order...
First, sign out of your account within the Mac App Store app...
Quit the Mac App Store app...
Launch the Mac App Store app..
Sign in using your Apple ID..
Watch for any updated Terms and Conditions dialog boxes that might appear and agree to them...
Check your Payment information is also correct and up to date even though there is no charge for the LP9.1.8 update...
Now go to Updates in the Mac App Store app..and check there for the Logic Pro 9.1.8 update
    This should fix the issue...
    However...
Again as was said earlier.. also make sure your Logic Pro 9 app is correctly located in your Applications folder and ensure the app is indeed named Logic Pro and nothing else... (Some people found their current copy of the Logic Pro app would be labelled Logic Pro 9.1.6 for example.. and they had to edit the name to put it back to the original Logic Pro for updates to work)
You should then be able to update correctly.
if not.. contact Apple directly as they may need to reset your account on their Mac App Store servers.. to resolve any remaining issues...

  • Yesterday I updated logic pro and my IK Multimedia ARC system has disappeared from the plug in drop down window, how can I get it back, it appears on old files but not new ones

yesterday I updated logic pro, I have just discovered that my IK Multimedia ARC system has disappeared from the plug in drop down window, can anyone advise how I can get it back. It seems that old logic files where it was previously loaded still have the plug in live, but on a new project file it simply isn't there to select and activate.

Not sure about your issue. What did you update from and to? Is ARC still in the plugins/components folder?
I'm an ARC user too. I have it plugged in to Audio Hijack Pro which is set to hijack audio from Logic. This way ARC is after logic and you don't have to remember to bypass the plugin before you bounce.

  • After i upgrade to lion and updated logic pro to version 9.1.6 stops responding when loading "Ryu Chords" it stops responding, do anyone have any ideas what problem it can be?

After i upgrade to lion and updated logic pro to version 9.1.6 stops responding when loading "Ryu Chords" it stops responding on certain moment, i tried to reinstall freshly and update to version 9.1.5 but problem same so at this moment version is 9.1.6. I tried 64bit too but no changes. And the thing is that i need studio and i need to sort this problem quick.
Please everybody if you had same problem give me answer or any idea what to do
    Thanks

The sample rate is not 128 or so, you probably mean the buffer size...
But the performance drop makes sense: switching between a 64 bit process and 32 bit doesn't come free: it cost performance and creates a jitter, which also either shows as performance lost or instability.
You really have to move away from outdated 32 bit AudioUnits, sorry. Ask the vendors to finally release 64 bit versions, it has been several years since 64 bit is available.

  • What is going on ?!?!? I can't start logic pro in 64-bit mode

I have been struggling with this issue for a while now, but I haven't made any progress. I am unable to start Logic Pro 9 in 64-bit mode. And when I say that, I mean that if I select the Logic Pro app in Finder, and say "Get Info," there is no "Start in 32-bit mode" option like all of the tutorials say to do. It used to show up, and I was able to start in 64-bit mode just fine, but suddenly, the option is not there, and the app is starting in 32-bit mode.
My Mac/OSX have been running so well, that I'm not too knowledgeable about where to even start looking for a solution. I am very comfortable with the Terminal, etc, so I can follow directions well, but I don't know where this problem stems from.
The machine is running in 64-bit mode, ie, if I do uname -a, it does return that the system is running in 64-bit mode. Logic runs just fine outside of not starting in 64-bit mode, but I want/need to be taking advantage of all of the RAM I spent so much money on.
I'm not sure what info would be needed, but here goes:
    Mac Pro 3,1 (early 2008), 8-core 2.8Ghz.
    10GB RAM
    4 SATA HDDs
NVidia Geforce 8800 GT 512MB RAM
OS X Mavericks with all current updates
Logic Pro 9.1.x, again,  with all updates available.
    Steinberg UR22 audio interface (USB)
Also, I'm not sure if it matters, but I also have Windows 7 installed through Bootcamp, and it is running fine, and recognizes 32-bit/64-bit apps just fine.
I hope that's enough for someone to be able to tell me where to start looking. I really don't get it. This was happening when I first installed Mavericks. I ended up doing a fresh install from USB stick, and everything was going fine. I don't think that an update has changed things, as the last time I opened Logic, it did open in 64-bit mode. Suddenly though, that option is unavailable.
Is there a plist entry I can edit that will force it into 64-bit mode?
What part of the OS is in charge of this type of thing?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Could be corrupted preferences.
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
    Press the Go button.
Remove the  com.apple.logic.pro.plist  file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro.
Be sure and use the ~ character in the path name.

  • Can't access Logic Pro 9 from app store.

    Hey guys,
Can't access Logic Pro 9 from app store. I purchased it from the App Store for my iMac in Jan 2012. I know have my wife's old macbook, and I'm trying to get put Logic on that computer too. I just updated it to Snow Leopard so that I could access the App Store.
Logic Pro shows up in the purchases tab on the laptop, but when I click install, the install button just goes white for a few seconds, then back to grey.
If I click on the App itself it says "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian Store." Only thing is I tested out downloading it onto my wife's new laptop only 2 weeks ago. Has it been removed from the App Store forever in that short little window? Quite annoying if I've missed the boat by such a short amount of time. If that is the case, is there any other way of transferring the app from one computer to another?
    Thanks,
    Thom

No.. its still available on the Aus App Store.... I was just speaking with a client of mine in Geelong and he successfully downloaded it under the Purchase tab last Saturday so....
Sign out of the App Store
    Quit the App Store
    Restart your Mac
    Launch the App Store..
Sign into the App Store... using the Apple ID you used to purchase Logic Pro 9
Look for any new Terms and Conditions popup you may need to agree to....
If you click on the actual Logic Pro 9  icon you will get the message you saw because LP9 isnt available to purchase on the App Store any longer... so only click on the install button to the far right of the Logic Pro 9 entry under the Purchase Tab...
Failing this... contact Aple directly as it is possible they will need to reset your Mac App Store account for it to work correctly (as has been needed in the past when this has occurred.)

  • Just reformatted....Still can't update Logic to 7.1.1! What's going on?

Alright, this is driving me quite mad. This is my original thread: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2061139#2061139
Basically in a nutshell, I am having an issue trying to update Logic Pro 7.1.0 to 7.1.1. I have gone and done what some kind and helpful board members here have advised me to do; I've done and repaired my permissions and I've went through the disk utility to repair any disk errors. And I have been in a tech support email exchange with Apple's Logic Pro Support for about a week now, and their final word was "ERASE & INSTALL"
And here I am, fresh off a clean install of Tiger and the error still lingers.
At this point, I no longer have a clue of what might be the issue anymore. My only guess is...could the actual installer file on Apple's server somehow become corrupt? My guess is no, because some board members from my last thread had noted that they had absolutely no problems updating Logic without any hassles.
I know this is a very miniscule error. It is only a minor update to Logic, but because it's still not corrected after a clean install has got me worried.
Can anyone here see a solution to this? I would really appreciate any more help.

I'm on Tiger 10.4. The reason why I haven't upgraded to 10.4.6 is because I really don't feel like updating Pro Tools LE and the DigiCore Audio drivers to adapt to the new Mac OS update. But now that you mention it, could that be the reason why?
And I haven't changed anything in Logic's setup. Didn't create subfolders, move files, or anything. Just intalled it in the Applications folder. And I know its in there.

  • How can I deauthorize Logic Pro 9?

    Hello!
I'm going to sell my old MacBook Pro and buy a new one.
How can I deauthorize Logic Pro 9 on the old computer and authorize on the new Mac?
    Thanks, Max )

    You don't..
If you started with the DVD version of Logic Studio...You can simply delete the App on your old Mac and then reinstall via the DVDs on your new Mac  remembering to update to 9.1.8 as soon as the install is complete if you are running Mountain Lion or Mavericks on your New Mac...
Note: Personally, I'd do a full reinstall of OS X on your old Mac using either the OS X DVDs that came with your old Mac or using the recovery partition if you have since installed Mountain Lion or Maverivcks.. on your old mac.. This effectively will revert your mac back to the state it was when you bought it... or to a completely clean OS X install...
Or, if you bought the App Store version...  of LP9
You delete the LP9 App from your old mac.. sign out of the App store on your old Mac....and that's it.
Then on your new Mac, sign into the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID you used to purchase LP9 in the first place and then go to the purchases tab and you will find Logic Pro 9 ready and waiting for you to download and install using the install button under purchases.
Note: Again, either way I'd do a full clean OS X install on your old Mac is possible as then none of your personal data will be left on your old mac prior to you selling it.
