Can't update N95 firmware as USB connection isn't ...

I'm currently trying to update the firmware on my N95. I have installed the latest version and even reinstalled the latest version of the USB cable driver.
But although PC Suite sees and communicates with the phone via the USB cable (Bluetooth is switched off as a connection method), the Nokia Software Updater keeps failing to detect the phone.
I have tried it with and without PC Suite running, I have tried it on different USB ports, I have tried plugging in the cable before the detection process and during it...but it will not detect the phone.
Everything else about the phone seems to be working correctly. Anyone have any ideas?

uninstall the PC Suites & Nokia Connectivity driver. and then download the PC Suite Cleanup from Nokia site. Install & run it.
Reboot computer & re-install the current PC Suites, wait until prompted to to connect whatever you have chosen(Cable or blue tooth, whatever). Download the latest software updater!
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

My ipod touch 4g doesn't show option for ios update in setting-general page. Can i update it via itunes by connecting it to computer?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode ue one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How can I update the firmware all at once

I'm a tech support in a school, approximately our school has over 500 laptops, how can I update the firmware on all laptops at once?

Apple Configurator is the software you want - and it's free from Apple. However, I'm dubious that firmware can be updated all at once.

  • Can't 'Scan to Email' on USB connected printer to AE (Bridge mode)

Can't 'Scan to Email' on USB connected printer to 2nd AE (in Bridge mode extending wireless network).
    Prints fine though.
Printer is set to static IP adress (192.168.0.50).
Upstream Router is: 192.168.0.1 (this is connected to first AE).
When the printer was previously attached (by ethernet cable) to 1st AE, everything was working fine and I could login to printer Admin page via Safari by tying IP Address.

Only the print function is supported when a multi-function device is connected to the USB port on an AirPort router.
Advanced features like scan, copy, maintenance, etc are not supported at the USB port.

You don't get OTA updates on the iPad until you are already running iOS 5 consequently, the Software Update feature will not appear in the settings until you do so.
You just posted from the website that had the instructions in it. Did you read them or just scroll down to the bottom and ask the question?

Did you make sure it was the exact file for your device and the latest version? I just downloaded the latest file for my iPhone4, put it in the folder I mentioned above and it ran the install versus downloading the file. This problem where it times out after downloading is a big Bug within iTunes that has been there ever since IOS 7.0 was released. I wished these apple developers would just fix iTunes. There are a ton of complaints about this issue. I sure miss Steve Jobs running this business, I really feel like it's gone down hill after he left.
    I hope this helps!

  • N95 Not seeing USB connection.

This has been an issue since the phone was bought. I am on O2 and have an 18month contract, of which, I have 14months left! I also have insurance for the phone.
That said - I plugged the phone in the day I got it and it connected to my XP PC first time.. No issues. I did the install correctly.. CD before plug-in et cetera. HOWEVER.. Since this connection has taken place, no PC will see the phone. I have tried 6 different PC's, 4 different cables and tested all this with 3 other N95's (work collegues). The setup is fine for them but nothing happens for me. CPW (CarPhoneWarehouse) told me to plug in my phone and update the Firmware... idiots. Anyways, after a long debate with them, they agreed to send it off for repair. They told me 5/6 weeks and tried to take it off of me on the spot. However, in my experience, (once before, a couple of years ago), they take the phone and wipe it.. They tried to tell me otherwise but I lost my contacts once and that was enough!
Anyways, without stomping too far off the beaten track, is there any way I can fix this? Flash the mobile to defaults with a code or something? Brick it and get another one?!
    Your help is greatly appreciated!!
    Mike =)

  • Updating N95 firmware

i have an N95 and when i try and update the firmware, it says i have the current update of 10.2.006. can anyone help as to why this is so and can the update be done manually?

    http://www.nowwearetalking.com.au/discussions/all-discussions/telstras-transformation?p=166#eff8d22a...
I have a Nokia N95-3 purchased 6 months ago through Telstra & connected on the NextG network. I'm very happy with both the product & service, but I have a concern. The software version for my N95 is 10.2.06 from the 22/08/2007. Nokia announced its fourth software upgrade for the N95 since then last month- v30.0.015- but this & previous updates are not available to users of the N95-3 branded/locked by Telstra. A month earlier, there was some chatter on other Australian Telecommunications forums that Telstra might finally be releasing the prior v20.x software for its customer's branded/locked N95s after some final revisions & testing. There has been more chatter since by some of those customers attempting to check the progress of this with both Nokia Australia & Telstra, and few answers forthcoming (apart from some advice to apparently "Ask Sol" which I'll take with a grain of salt. I can appreciate that both Telstra & Nokia share the responsibility for the availability of these updates to Telstra users of their products- however, perhaps Telstra would do well to make more easily accessible the status of its testing & the advice of availability (or reasons for their non-availability) of these updates & others offered by manufacturers of mobile devices branded/locked to its network. As you already have forums for the iPhone & Blackberry products on this site, it would seem a small matter to create a few more for the other device manufacturers, in which the Team Leaders or Managers overseeing such projects at Telstra could communicate progress & field questions from customers. To my mind, this would be in keeping of Telstra's Customer.Focus in it's goals for Transformation. If I may speak on other's behalf, we would appreciate your consideration in this matter. Thanks for your time!

  • Can't Update Airport Firmware

Hi...I am having the same issue that this guy did:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5652287
There is no button that says "Update" on my mac with Airport Utility 6.3.1  How do I update the utility??  I am running OS 10.8.5
    Thanks

a brody...thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately this still leads to a dead end.  The support article says:
Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
Open AirPort Utility. (Navigate to the /Applications/Utilities folder, to locate it.) AirPort Utility will display a badge to the right of the name of any AirPort base station in your network that has a firmware update available for it.
Select the AirPort base station you want to update.
    Click the Update button.
I have no "Update" button...it's just not there.  So how can I update if that button is not showing up?

  • HT201471 Can I update my firmware to get 4g lte (Saudi Arabia- Mobily)? how?

    Hello designbot,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that your trying to update the firmware for your Laserjet P1102w via your Mac 10.9 Mavericks. I will do my best to help you with this.
To start I have located a Youtube video for you on installing and setting up the P1102w wireless with Mavericks. I'm linking this just to make sure the printer IS on the wireless network to start with. Setting up the HP LaserJet P1102w Printer in Mac OS X Mavericks.
From that point skip over step 1 in that first document, that you were using. Try enabling webservices, if that fails then you may still have to do step 1 and update the firmware. If it succeeds this should allow you to continue on.
If it does fail, and you still need to update the printers FW, you won't be able to do this safely with Mac 10.9.  You do have the option from the information I could find of using the download for Mac OS 10.7, however it's not recommended as it may cause issues. It would be best to use another computer to update the firmware with if it comes down to being required.
I hope that's able to help you out, and answered your question. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Is it really vital to update N95 Firmware? Come up...

Is it really important to update N95 all the time to the latest firmware version?
What have those gained who updated to latest version, and what have those lost who are using the previous versions.
Is it really worth considering to update N95 while taking into account all the risks of phone turning into brick during process, non-functionality of all the previously installed 3rd Party software, and many more complications?
Does the new software really bring about dramatic changes to the N95 stability, start-up timings of the Java applications, improved menu structure, battery life etc. The presence of Flash Lite 3 may not be the key factor in updating N95.
What are the main plus points for N95 users to update their phones and
what are the main negative points that they should not go to update.
Please take part to discuss your good/ bad experiences in this regard in order to make other N95 users clear as to what should be done.
    Regards
    Ejaz

I used NSU to get 21.0.016 and I am happy I did it. The biggest improvement was with the WLAN connection, the old fw often failed to find my hidden home network, new fw has never missed it.
Previously the browser couldn't load webpages that were more than about 1.5mb and often crashed with multiple windows open, but now the browser works just fine with 4mb pages and multiple windows.
The only 3rd party sw that I had paid for was a game (Medal of Honor - what a waste of money that was) and that still works, but I did lose some of the free apps I had installed.
So yes, if you use the browser a lot over wlan than I'd say it's vital.

  • Updating N95 Firmware! Some important questions

My N95 is currently running on V20.0.013. A major improvement in update were found in V20.0.015. Now a days the latest firmware is V21.0.016.
Q1. If I update my N95 to 21.0.016, then would I get all the improved features of V20.0.015 as well or should I update my N95 step wise, i.e., first to 20.0.015 and then 21.0.016 to have all improvements. In V20.0.015, there were improvements in menu structure.
Q2. I have pre-installed multi language dictionary on microSD card provided in the sale package. If I update my N95 to V21.0.016, would this dictionary still work or I have to re-install it again?
Q3. Is there any problems which anyone encountered after updating N95 to V21.0.016? Any draw backs of this latest V21.0.016 software?
I totally depend upon you technical guys, and always get satisfied with the nice cooperation of this forum members. I hope you'll guide me this time as well.
    Regards to all

    Hi erehman,
    Some answers to you here.
A1. A new firmware will always wipe out everything in the phone memory. Absolutely no need to update first to 20.0.015. Go straight to 21.0.016.
But the previous firmware to 20.0.15 was 13.0.003.
A2. After an update of a firmware you need to reinstall everything. The memory card, though, is not affected and you do not even have to keep it in.
A3. There may be some problems or odd functions, but all together the 21 firmware is better than the 20 firmware.

  • Can't update WRT54GS firmware!

    I have a WRT54GS v5.1 with firmware 1.50.5
When I try to upgrade to firmware version 1.52.0 I browse, select the .bin file and click upgrade. The loading bar reaches about 3/4 full, then starts again and reaches about 1/4. Then I get "The connection was reset". I navigate to the admin page again, and the firmware version is unchanged. Any ideas what to try?

In case anyone else has this problem i was able to update the firmware by resetting factory defaults first.
