Can't Update or connect to Mac App Store !

Hey Guys,
I have the following Problem, i can't use the software update function anymore, because it always says: Software Update can't search for updates because of a Problem. It can't connect to the update server. When i use the network diagnose it says the internet works , very weird. Well, before i moved to Austria from Germany it worked. So has anybody an idea what could be the problem ?
Greetz Mike

You must sign in to the App Store with the Apple ID you used to install the app. If you don't recognize the ID, see below.
You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

    HI Judy...
You can only update software from the Mac App Store if the that is where it was purchsed and downloaded from.
Since you installed from the DVD, your updates should be available from your Apple menu > Software Update.

  • Can't update to Lion: Serious Mac App Store problem

I tried twice to update my OS (10.6.8) to Lion via the Mac App Store. Both times I got a failure message shortly before I had downloaded the 3,74 GB, saying the app can't be downloaded and that I have to restart the downloading (original message in German: "Die App kann nicht geladen werden. Das Laden des gewünschten Programms ist fehlgeschlagen. Bitte versuchen sie es erneut").

When I try to update my apps it say's We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (20)

    HELP!

Not the OP, but I've been having this problem since June (with the exact same error), and logging out and back in hasn't helped.
Helpfully, the store app opens a pop-up every 2 weeks or so to let me know that there are updates I can't access. It's super annoying.

  • Cannot connect to; Software Update, iTunes or the Mac App Store.

I updated to Lion on launch day and had problems with  Software Update, iTunes and the Mac App Store connecting to the internet.
I was completely connected to the interent, so people told me to wait it out as the servers were probably struggling.
However, it's been two weeks and I still get this message:
It's the same with iTunes as well as the mac app store.
I'm at a loss as I can't update my computer.
Anyone else have the same problem?

    same problem here
This solution work fine with me :
    1. Systems Preferences -> Network
    2. Under "Wi-Fi", click on the "Advanced" button.
    3. Under the "DNS" tab, add the Google Public DNS - 8.8.8.8
    4. Click OK, then click Apply.
    5. Turn WiFi OFF, then turn it back ON again.

  • HT5525 I can't find the updates tab in the mac app store (just updated iTunes)?

I'm trying to purchase a book of photos through iPhoto - it tells me to update iPhoto before I can order the book. My macbook pro is running OSX Lion so it says I can update iPhoto "in the updates tab of the mac app store"... but when I go to the app store in iTunes, there is no updates tab. I then tried the second update option, via software update under the apple menu, but that just updated a bunch of other firmware, not iPhoto.
Can anyone help point me in the direction of the iPhoto '11 update please?

You don't use iTunes for that.  Launch the App Store application
that's in your Applicaitons folder, login with your Apple ID and you should be able to update iPhoto.

I bought The Djay app, for iPad, but I can't download it on the Mac App Store, whitout having to pay the 20$ why is that

Because the developer needs to create and maintain the two versions separately and has chosen to charge for the Mac OS X version.

  • Can not connect to mac app store

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion on my early 2008 MacBook Pro.  Now, each time I go to the App Store, it either displays can not connect to the Mac App Store, or if it does, the store is very slow and I can not download any apps.  I'm not sure why this is happening.  Any thoughts?

    Hey sanchocan,
If you find that you are unable to connect to the Mac App Store, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Can't connect to Mac App Store

I dumped my app store app by mistake, how do I replace it?

I was having this same issue.
After upgrading my early 2010 iMac to Mountain Lion, I found several issues. I couldn't connect to the app store, finder kept freezing and would require relaunch, could not connect to itunes, safari crashed upon every attempt to use, etc. So I attempted to update my software, yet with the app store failing to function, I couldn't.
I verified and repaired my disk and permissions through the disk utility.
Yet I still could not connect to the app store or itunes. I found it referenced somewhere that Keychain First Aid could potentially resolve the issue. That has thus far resolved the issue for me.
Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access
In the menu, under Keychain Access, select Keychain First Aid.
    Verify, and then repair.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot Connect to Mac App Store

When I open the MAS, I get a "Cannot Connect to the App Store" alert in the window.
When I try to signin, I receive a red "Connection failed" message in the signin dialog box.
When I go to Software Update from the Apple Menu, I receive a notice that "Software Update can’t connect to the update server. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, and then try again."
When I click on the Network Diagnostics button presented and go through the diagnostic, my network reports operating perfectly.
When I go to an app on the iTunes web-storefront click on the "View in Mac App Store" button, the MAS launches, but I get the same connection error.
I can sign in to the iTunes store. I can update software on my iDevices by using the iOS App Store. I have no problems there. It's just the MAS.
    Apple support articles say:
If you’re having trouble using App Store, try these solutions:
If you see a message that your computer can’t connect to App Store, make sure your Internet connection is working. If you can open a web browser and view a website, there may be a problem with the store. Try using App Store again later. [I've been trying for two days, and there aren't a lot of issues like this on the first page of the discussions section, so I think it's probably not a common error at the  moment...]
Make sure your computer’s date, time, and time zone are set correctly in Date & Time preferences. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Date & Time. [These are correct.]
Make sure your Apple ID information is accurate and that you don’t need to correct a problem with a previous purchase. To verify your Apple ID information and review your purchase history, choose Store > View My Account or click Account in the Quick Links section. [I can't connect in the app, so...]
If you’re still having trouble, click Support in the Quick Links section. [I couldn't find QuickLinks, but no other support article seems to be availlable to help this problem.]
I have restarted my computer, I have removed the App Store with AppDelete and reinstalled from the Lion 10.7.4 Client Combo. I've got no change.
I did notice that the MAS window menu reports the name of the window as "Firenze", which seems weird to me. Can anyone advise me?

(Couldn't edit profile; change is 12 GB RAM)

    Hi ..
Fist, uninstall Fingerpop beta > http://www.finderpop.com/manual/210/title.html
    "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax"
Next, open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/ScirptingAdditions
    Click Go
Move the  SIMBL.osax files from the ScriptingAddtions folder to the Trash
    Try the App Store.

  • Can't download a purchase from Mac App Store

I recently bought OSX Lion and redeemed it through the Mac App Store. When I go to my purchases, I see it there and I click the download button, but it doesn't download. The little spinning gear shows up for a few seconds in the top left corner and then it stops and nothing happens.
I currently running Snow Leopard on an old white Macbook that I got in 2007. I'm pretty sure this is the last update I can do for my operating system.
I downloaded Hands Off! but that didn't do anything, and I've tried resarting my computer but that isn't doing anything either....
    Help?

I have a friend in the same boat - she just got a used Mac and I am her "helper". It's a mid-2010 iMac, on 10.6.not sure. LOL I was walking her through a purchase on the App Store and when she clicked the price and then buy/get, nothing happens. No drop down window that pops into the main window where you can enter your Apple ID or create one if you don't have one. I had her establish her Apple ID and get that party started, still nothing. Hard to find anything else out there on the web for solutions.
She's friends with the people that had the Mac before and they did do some cleaning up the hardware prior to giving it her, but nothing is obvious about fixing this issue. I asked her to double check with the friends. Glad to know that she's not the only one with this problem.
