Can't update programs:  "Unable to apply updates You are already running Adobe Application Manager. ..." HELP!

So, I try to update Photoshop CC 2014 Camera Raw patch, install Fireworks CS6, and InDesign CC, but get this error on my new MacBook Pro:
The only instance of AAM that is running is the one that opens automatically when I click "Updates" in the PS Help menu. I've also tried it from the AAM widget at the top of my screen.
And before solutions are presented:
I have closed down EVERY instance of AAM first.
I have opened the Activity Monitor to make sure that nothing of Adobe was running in between each update attempt, just to make sure.
I have force quit everything Adobe that was running in between each update attempt, just to make sure.
I have tried it two ways:
Opened Photoshop, Clicked "Updates" in the Help menu, chose the update for "Photoshop Camera Raw 8.5 (CC)", clicked "Update" and still get the error.
I have quit Photoshop, ran Activity Monitor and checked Force Quit...launched the AAM Launcher Utility, See big red button at top that says "1 Update", click button, Click 'Update', put in my password, update still fails with same error.
It's a freaking loop of frustration!!! There is no end. It keeps telling me to close "ALL" instances of AAM, but there's not other way to apply an update for it. I try and just keep getting the same an error! Uggh! Someone please...PLEASE help!

  • Update Failed - You are already running Adobe Applications Manager. Please close all instances ....

Okay, I get the following screen every time I try to apply updates.
I can't find any reference to Adobe Applications Manager anywhere, so I can't stop any of the instances from running.
The message directs me to Customer support, but this message is not in any of the forums that I can find.
Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Application Manager. Error: Updates could not be applied. You are already running the Adobe...

    Hi Guys
I am having a rather frustrating issue with my Photoshop CS6. I have been trying to run the updates for hours now as my Photoshop CS6 is slow and unresponsive. I have an i7 Mac and 16GB of RAM. it should not be slow.
    Anyway.
I keep getting this error each time I try to run the updates.
    I have:
    Restarted
    Repaired permissions
    Reinstalled Adobe Applications Manager
    Nothing works.
    Pulling my hair out.

I have even tried manually downloading the update DMGs and doing it that way but the error persists.

I own an iMac 2011. I am unable to reinstall and launch premiere pro cc. We I attempt to run the program I get a error message saying that the adobe application manager is missing or need to be updated. I reinstalled the manager but I am still unable to launch any of my programs from adobe. I tried to do a trail with a program and I am still getting the same message.

Davinci thank you for the update.
Please utilize any available uninstallers that are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once all of the available uninstallers have been run you will then want to rerun the CC Cleaner Tool.  You can find directions on the use of the CC Cleaner Tool and a download link at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  After the CC Cleaner Tool is run then please reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application from Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop.
The CC Cleaner Tool is designed to be used after running the uninstallers.  Without running the uninstallers first then a complete removal may not be possible.

  • Can not update- message says you are already running the adobe application manager - but it is not open

I'm trying to update Indesign and Photoshop.  I get a message saying that the Updates could not be applied - you are already running the Adobe Application Manager - but I have closed everything.   It may be related to the fact that today, about every 2 minutes, Adobe Creative Cloud Connection pops up.  I have closed it numerous times, but it continues to open.

Terminate the process(es) in Task Manager/ Activity Monitor.

  • Update Failed - You are already running the Adobe Application Manager....

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.4. When I try to update InDesign CC to the latest version, the Adobe Application Manager launches and give me the following error:
    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied
You are  already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates.
So, I quit the AAM, verify that it's not running in Activity Monitor and relaunch it... to get the same error message. I haven't found a solution online, so I'm hoping someone can help me get past this.

Rfahl have you tried rebooting and then applying the update again?  If so, and you still receive the same error, then you may want to try installing the update in Safe Boot mode.  You can find more details for starting up in Safe Boot at OS X Lion: Start up in safe mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4373.

  • I want to download whatever updates I need for Photoshop CS5. I try using Adobe Application manager and it isnt working.

I want to download whatever updates I need for Photoshop CS5. I am using Adobe Application Manager and there are updates but they arnt going through. It has been awhile since I tried. Dont remember when the last time was. But my Mac Book Pro is in good shape and I am finally getting around to this. didnt expect it not to work. Help?

    Hi Richei Creative,
    These would be my suggestions:
Create a new user account with administrative rights, log out of your current account and into that one, launch Adobe Application Manager and attempt the Photoshop update again.
Instructions if you need them  - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11468
If this fails, uninstall Photoshop (Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers) and reinstall Photoshop then from Adobe Application Manager the attempt the Photoshop update again, also from the newly created user account.
    Hope these help,
    -Dave

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

Albertos35110529 are you trying to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application or are you trying to open it?  If it is already installed then you will want to open it from the Applications folder.  You can find more details regarding the installation process at Help | Download, install, update, or uninstall apps.

  • Unable to uninstall cs6 beta version due to Adobe Application Manager error

A few weeks ago I installed the beta version of cs6 but never was able to run that program due to the Adobe Application Manager error I received each time I attempted to launch it.  I never found any solutions on the internet so I just gave up.  Recently I purchased Photoshop cs6 anyway, however, in order to install cs6 you must uninstall the beta version of cs6.  Unfortunately Windows 7 will not uninstall the beta version.  Each time I click on uninstall, nothing happens.  Until I can uninstall the beta version, I will not be able to install my newly purchased Photoshop cs6.  Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. The tool can clean up install records for any pre-release (beta) installations of these Creative Suite products.

  • I can't log-in to Premiere Pro & keep getting stuck in an Adobe Application Manager sign-in loop

I am currently unable to load Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects.
When I click to open them the Adobe Application Manager opens up, asks me to sign-in (which I do) and then it tries to open PP (the PP icon on my Mac bounces up and down) but then it disappears and loops me back to the Adobe Application Manager.
I was speaking to an Adobe Support officer on Live Chat the other day and he dialled in to my mac but couldn't fix it. He said he would escalate the issue and told me to expect a call back within two days. Frustratingly no-one has called me back and the issue remains.
I have uninstalled all the apps and the Creative Cloud and then re-installed them but that hasn't helped.
I would be really grateful if anyone had any suggestions as I have an important piece of work that I have to get done by tomorrow.
    Many thanks

  • Can't update camera raw:  "Unable to apply updates"

Can't update camera raw:  "Unable to apply updates You are already running Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates." The only instance of AAM that is running is the one that opens automatically when I click "Updates" in the PS 6 Help menu.

    What's your OS ?
Check in Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) if there is any instance of AAM running.

  • How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"?

How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"? Or can I or should I....??
I am a brand new Cloud member.  I heard of the Retina update.  Assuming this was where the updates would logically appear I went to the "Adobe Application Manager" app first.  Without closing the "Adobe Application Manager" I opened Photoshop and went to the help menu and selected "Updates..."; a second window opened in the already open "Adobe Application Manager".
    I selected update all.

Now, I closed the "Adobe Application Manager" and opened "Photoshop" again and again selected "Updates..." from the help menu.  The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just one window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping one of the updates would be to the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, If I were you I wouldn't select "Updates..." from an Adobe app unless the "Adobe Application Manager" is closed until they fix it...
Current version: Adobe® Application Manager - Version 7.0.0.128 (7.0.0.128) Note the Two windows in the "Adobe Application Manager" in the attached image.

The updates are currently available by going to Help>Updates within the Application.  Once you invoke the Updater, which is a component of the Adobe Application Manager, it will locate and apply the updates.  It looks like most of your updates have failed to install.  I would recommend you begin by trying to apply the updates that are available on our product update page at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and seeing if you face the same difficulty.
If you continue to experience problems with applying the updates then please review your installation log to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
