Can't update to 1.7 firmware

Hey Guys,
Having a little trouble, well I have been for awhile.
My Mac Mini does suffer from the well known HDMI issues but I'm unable to get the 1.7 Firmware to install. I've tried updating using the App Store as well as the standalone update direct from Apple. Am I missing something here? Everytime I try to install it, it's still there in the App Store as an available update. Every time. I've just installed the 10.8.3 update hoping that might kick it into life but no change.
I've looked around but can't see to find anyone else who's having the same issue. Could someone shed some light on it?
I'd be willing to go for a clean install if needed, just trying to avoid that where possible.

Wasn't sure what you mean so I had a quick search. Found this from Apple, is this the right thing?
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

unfortunately I don't have high Speed Internet connection so i had to download each frimware from other computer, for examplein my office ... and broght them to my computer and after syncing my Ipad : Each time I used to use Shift + Update ( in Ipad Summary ) . and address my last downloaded frimware ... but these days Itunes says This firmware is not compatible with ur device !
I try last version of Itunes . 2 another usb port and my second computer .... but i can't update my Ipad
Any Suggestion ?

Why I can not update my E72 new firmware?

I have E72 with this specification:
E72-2, RM 529, version 022.007
I am trying to install new firmware version 31.023. Although I found out this version is released but my Nokia software updater just say my current firmware (22.007) is up to date! Is it possible? How can I install new firmware?

Read my posts again. Your product has a product code like you would have known if you've read my posts. Nokia phones get productcodes to tell them apart from if it's branded, where it's branded, what country it is made for (language version), region and so on (simply explained).
Like your E72 has a productcode, mine E72 I had a while ago had a different product code. Like in Norway there are two big service providers: Telenor and Netcom. an E72 from Telenor would most likely have a different product code from Netcom. Cause those providers will have to decide if they are going to let the users update or not. If Netcom approves the fw from Nokia, but Telenor don't then it would be not fair if telenor customers could update due to the same product code.
So when you connect your E72 to nokia software updater, it will read your product code. And if you are allowed to update, you will get it, but If example Netcom has not approved it yet, NSU will tell you that there isn't a new update and that your device is up to date.
The E72 I had is ment for the scandinavian market and has a product code which reflect that - it will give me an fw update containing amongst a few other languages - MY language.
If All E72's had the same productcode but the code was function like it was today - the updates would contain all languages of the world...
If your phone is not branded or something it might even be that Nokia is a bit late - that happens too
I've tried to explain this to be easy, using some examples...
So if you don't want to wait, go to a Nokia care point and ask if they could update it.

Reasons why a phone cannot update:
1. It is a country variant - country variants often get the updates later, or have updates skipped altogether. A Turkish country variant product code for example, skipped v40 and updated from v31 straight to v50.
2. It is network branded - phones acquired from network providers or these providers' stores SIM free are branded, and will not get updates until the networks approve and modify the updates to their liking.
3. Special editions - These special editions are chartered editions and may never get updates unless taken to a Nokia Care center.

These questions come up time and time again. Two main factors affect this:
(1) Updates are phased in around the world because there are numerous regional variants, it is not just a single softwarfe for any particular model worldwide. Some regional variations may lag behind others.
(2) If the phone has operator-version software instead of standard Nokia software, Nokia must await the approval of the network before it may release updates.

Apple Configurator is the software you want - and it's free from Apple. However, I'm dubious that firmware can be updated all at once.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

Can't update firmware on Officejet Pro 8610, Hp update site shows available firmware update needed, disabled firewall, shut off wireless, run program, window for update appears, but checkbox greyed out. I've talked to HP Tech, He was positive newer firmware was available, I've tried starting in safe mode w/networking, disabled, MS Security essentials turned off,etc. Have Dell Dimension, excellent running, Windows 7 Home Premium, Xfinity cable network modem (very fast), I'm getting frustrated.

Before we start I have a request.
Press Setup on the front panel of the printer, and select Reports. In the reports menu select Print Status report. On that report, please let me know what firmware version is listed.

Can not update iphone firmware using iTunes "The network connection timed out"

Hello,
I can not update the iphone firmware using iTunes.
Messagte displayed
"There was a problem downloading the software fo the iPhone. The network connection timed out.
Also seen stopped error -3259
I have run network connectivity tests from iTunes and All Tests passed.
Can anyone help?

Did you make sure it was the exact file for your device and the latest version? I just downloaded the latest file for my iPhone4, put it in the folder I mentioned above and it ran the install versus downloading the file. This problem where it times out after downloading is a big Bug within iTunes that has been there ever since IOS 7.0 was released. I wished these apple developers would just fix iTunes. There are a ton of complaints about this issue. I sure miss Steve Jobs running this business, I really feel like it's gone down hill after he left.

Probably because you have an iPhone 3G and 4.2.1 is the latest update that you can get for that phone - it is too old to support anything further.
If you have an iPhone 4, then connect the phone to iTunes to update it and ensure that you have the latest version of iTunes too.

hey. I had?a similiar problem?also. I loaded the new firmware version for my Creative ZEN V bought in Singapore a few months ago. After i loaded it in, /2 of my songs and all the photos inside were erased. IN addition, the computer did not recognize the mp3 player, i am trying to find the old firmware to try to reload it back in to see whether it works, but i cant find it. Can anyone help?

Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
Open AirPort Utility. (Navigate to the /Applications/Utilities folder, to locate it.) AirPort Utility will display a badge to the right of the name of any AirPort base station in your network that has a firmware update available for it.
Select the AirPort base station you want to update.
Click the Update button.
I have no "Update" button...it's just not there. So how can I update if that button is not showing up?
