Can't update to Garageband 5.0.2 from Garageband 5.0

installed Snow Leopard and was using Garageband which later told me to update to 5.0.2 in order to get more lessons for the instructional videos.
A messaged popped up while updating to 5.0.2 from 5.0 saying...
+"This updated only applies to GarageBand 5.0, part of iLife '09."+
HOWEVER, that's exactly what I have and all I'm trying to do is just update. I'm so confused.
Is anyone else having problems with this or could offer help?
Is it something with Snow Leopard?

I tried the 5.1 update but that didn't work out and it said the same thing as last time...+"This update only applies to GarageBand 5.0, part of iLife '09."+

Can't update/restore my ipod toch 4g from 4.2.1

I've tried for months now trying to update my 4th gen ipod touch from 4.2.1 but everytime i got the 3194 error. My computer is running Windows 7, up to date, up to date Itune as well, and i've tried many youtube videos, my friends that are computer/ipod savis tried to help me but we all got the same 3194 error.
No i've never jailbroken my ipod at any time, so can anyone tell me how i can do this because this is just annoying and i want to be able to update.

Before reinstalling, it would be far less painful to try applying or reapplying the 10.6.8 Combo Update which will bring bring a new 5.0.5, then run Security Update 2013-001, which should bring it to 5.1.8.
The Combo Update is not a reinstall, it will just replace missing or damaged files, from 10.6.0 through 10.6.8, including, in this case, the Safari 5.0.5.
You won't have the hassle of running Software Update a zillion times for other items.

If your phone is an iPhone 3G, you can't update higher than 4.2.1
Only the 3GS can do.

Can I Update Time Machine Backup Without Booting From The Source Drive

Can I update a time machine backup without booting from the original source drive?
My main Macbook Pro internal drive seemed to have died. I had not backed up in months so my Time Machine backup was old.
I replaced the drive with a new one and settled for restoring from the old TM backup because my latest info was on the dead drive and not backed up.
I just plugged the "broken" drive into a dock and it mounted.
It won't boot from the drive but I can mount it and copy from it so far.
I now want to update my Time Machine backup with the info on the 'broken" drive while it's able to be mounted.
How can I accomplish this without booting from the 'broken" drive and running time machine.

I need to update a Time Machine backup using another hard drive without booting from the source (as I cannot). Both drives are connected via USB to my MBP and I am booted from another MBP. I want to end up with the newer info from the "broken" drive updating my older Time Machine backup.

Time Machine will only be able to backup whilst booted into OSX, so unless you can mount the drive, and boot up the OS that is installed on the disk, then no, you will not be able to run a Time Machine backup of that drive.
You could image the drive onto another using Disk Utility

I have followed the instructions to register the product.
But although the message says "license downloaded successfully", the license stays at 30 days.

Actually I think normal steps

Help?! Can't update to iPhone 4.2.1 from PowerBook G4 running iTunes 9.2.1

My aging PowerBook G4 is running iTunes 9.2.1, further update of iTunes not available for my version of OSX (10.4.11). When I sync my iPhone 3G (running 4.1) I am told there is a newer version of the iPhone software (4.2.1), but upon clicking the "Update" button in the sync window I get a prompt saying "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version." What's with this prompt? This update button has worked in the past to keep my iPhone software current, don't know what's going on now!
My laptop and my iPhone used to play nicely together all the time. Not really sure where to begin with this one and would appreciate any suggestions.

I'm experiencing this same problem and am also highly annoyed. For several reasons, I cannot upgrade to 10.5 on my Powerbook G4 and thus can never update my iPhone software again.
However, what's even more annoying is the snotty, condescending attitude of the people who respond on these boards to anyone using an older-model computer, particularly the ones in this thread.
Just so you know, you guys are hardly supporting Apple by providing case studies on superiority complexes in place of actual advice.
There is absolutely no reason why a person should not be able to upgrade the software on their top-of-the-line phone because Apple decided to arbitrarily tack said software update to an iTunes version that is unattainable to many devoted Mac users. Especially when Windows users (you know, those people who are actually "hardly supporting Apple") are afforded support that we older Mac users are being distastefully excluded from.
Only a truly sickening Apple sycophant could look at this situation and say it's anything bordering on fair.

You can only update to the latest version. A handful of people complain about "slowing down" with EVERY release.

While I am away from my office base, I would like to update my blog (created using iWeb) from another computer. I have a dotmac account.
I thought doing this should pose no problems, but I simply can't figure it out.....

When you go to .mac and log in, you should see stories there regarding the features of .mac. One of the recent ones (should still be on the front page) is Tech note: Using iWeb on more than one Mac
Underneath this header, you'll find
"All you need to do is quit iWeb (if it’s open), locate the domain.sites file (Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites), and move it to wherever you’re going to use it. Then double-click the file in its new location. iWeb will launch, and you’re done. From then on, iWeb will automatically save your work in the new location, and you’ll be able to publish your site from any Mac that has access to it.
So, if your domain.sites is small enough to fit on your iDisk, you could keep a copy there and use it from any computer that has iWeb 1.1 or later installed to update your blog.

I received a new debit card in the mail the other day, making my old one invalid. I am away from my computer and wanted to update my account information so it reflects the new debit card.

This is a user to user forum; there is no one from Apple here to get back to you. Apps and music are forever associated with the Apple ID account they were purchased with. There is no way to transfer them to a different account. That is why Apple lets you change the email address associated with your account without having to get a new account. If you didn't do this, but instead got a completely new account, you are out of luck. You can still go back to the old account and just get a new email address for it.
