Can't update to iOS 4.3

Got my iPhone 4 from Verizon a couple months ago (even though it says "Verizon 3G" at the top of the screen). Been updating system software okay, until a couple days ago.
Currently have 4.2.10 (8E600) and was trying to download an app that, when I tried installing, said my system software was incompatible and that I needed 4.3.
So I sync up w/ my iTunes on my Macbook Pro, and click "check for update", and it tells me I'm up-to-date and that 4.2.10 is the most current version.
No error messages and posters above have already stated, it just says I'm already updated.
I updated my OS on my Macbook Pro and my iTunes, and my iPhone iOS still doesn't update to 4.3. What's up with that?!?!

One way or another though, it's clear this is a Verizon issue, which is IMO poor on either Apple's or Verizon's part and thus relegates us Verizon iPhoners to be completely at the mercy of either an obsure technological problem or someone's whim.

    There should be nothing preventing the update from 6.1.3 or 6.1.2 or even from 5 directly to 7.

    Have you tried to Update through a computer running the most up top date version of iTunes?

    I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

    Transfer Purchase from the iPad to the computer.
    Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left sidebar of iTunes and select Transfer Purchase. That will put all of the iPad purchased content into the iTunes library.

    Yes, you could, because in this case you would have something like a backup in the cloud. BTW, personally I also like Flickr. Flickr offers you 1 TB (1000 GB) of free storage and automatic upload for photos since iOS 7 (it is a very attractive offer, at least for me)

    Sorry but no. iOS 4.2.1 was the last version of iOS an iPhone 3G would run. If you have iOS 4.3.3 on your phone, then unless your iPhone was hacked, you actually have an iPhone 3GS which can upgrade to iOS 6. You can confirm your model here:

    Disable your antivirus and firewall software. Kaspersky is especially bad about interfering with updates.

    Oops, sorry this is not possible!
    Yes, it is very silly but the iPad 1 does not have enough ram to cope with ios 6 or 7. Every other iPad can go upto ios 7 except iPad 1, which stays as ios 5.1.1
    I recommend upgrading ur iPad, if u can't afford it maybe then u can always sell your iPad and use that money to buy a new one!!
