Can't update to itunes v10.5 because on OS X 10.4.11
...what do i need to do to get the latest version of itunes? New iPods won't work with anything under v10.0 itunes and I cannot update my itunes to the latest version of v10.5 because I am on OS X Tiger 10.4.11

Yes unfortunatally.... apple is slowly weening out 10.4.11 machine... even wrose is that you cant get 10.5.x any more apple cant even sell it through the gpone.
your best bet is to look into snow loepard > it would evovle an earse adn install on the computer as well.
which means if you consider going to snow loepard you need to back up your datat to an extern HD
snow loepard is 30 dollars aprox

Now if your not sure or concerened call apple they can tell you what your comptuer needs > how to get it > where and if you go out and by snow loepard and then call us you get 90 software phone support and they will help you back up the compteur before upgradeing to snow loepard

Watch that video. Where he uses itunes.msi if you are using 64 bit use itunes64.msi. That should resovle the problem for you. Be sure to save the new 11.1 installer before beginning so you can run it after deleting the file. Hope that helps. -

Are you trying to use the auto updater? Forget it.
Download the update manually from the Adobe site to your desktop and run it also manually from there.

Print and follow the instructions from there.
The Adobe auto updater has been a piece of cr@p for years and years. -
for any more information, i am in South Korea right now, and i've tried both english and korean version to install on my computer.

If possible you need to upgrade OS X. However, what you can upgrade to is dependent on what your Mac hardware and configuration is which you have not provided in your profile.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
