Can't update to windows 7.8

I've been having trouble updating my Lumia 800 (Windows 7.5) to the latest update. It always reaches "Step 9 of 10 : restarting your phone ... " and it never finishes. It will then freeze with the nokia logo on the screen. I always have to restore it back to its previous version to be able to use it. I've tried updating it 3 times but never succeeded. Can anyone help me?

Windows Phone 7.8 update has only been detailed in a minor way, and is not available or has been given release dates. Have you tried changing the region of the Marketplace so it may enable you to download the Facebook application? If that doesn't work, then there is always Facebook functionality built-in to the People hub in Windows Phone already. I find that enough for my needs, actually.

    You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Updating Firefox]]. There is a lot of good information in there and some troubleshooting steps as well.
    If that doesn't work, you might want to try installing a fresh copy of Firefox:

    I would suggest that you first back up your personal information and bookmarks, just in case. You can find details in the article [[Backing up your information]].

    My mom got a MacBook on sale so this is now what I use for everything; it is faster and more efficient than the PC that we own. On my iTunes, I can do everything exceptupdate my iPod nano. It simply says "Only Macintosh-formatted iPods can be updated." How do I change my Windows-formatted iPod to a Macintosh-formatted iPod?

    To change the format, select it in iTunes on the Mac
    and select Restore.
    I am having a similar issue with my daughters ipod nano. It was formatted for windows when we bought it (we have the songs on a mac) but it only downloads some of her library not all. Having looked in some of the forums it suggests restoring however when we plug the ipod into the mac the button for restoring the ipod to factory settings is not highlighted. In this case how can the ipod be restored to a mac setting? We are using the latest itunes software and OSX operating system.

    Hello, I am unable to update from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. I get an error code 0xc190010b. Also when I run a compatibility test before trying to update it says 40 apps compatible but 1 needs to be reviewed. The one that needs to be reviewed is 'Ralink Bluetooth PCIe Adapter' but when I try to update that driver I can't find it. I'm also having a lot of issues with my computer being really slow and constantly freezing (pages become inactive). Thanks for your help.

    I grasp that you were unable to  complete the upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 and you system is slow.

    If you are still unable to update I suggest you try a  HP PCs - Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8).
    Once you have done the refresh follow the updating document .
    If for any reason you still have not been successful. please do a recovery back to factory.

    You will notice an opportunity to backup your personal files to prevent data loss during this process, if you have not yet done one now would be a good time.

  • I can not update a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Software Update Group in SCCM2012

    Hi all,
    I got some problems with update deployments these days.
    I try to configure SCCM2012 to update 1 Windows Server 2008 R2 (with Hyper-V / This server is in a cluster)
    Actually i've 4 other Hyper-V servers and i would like to add one more in the cluster called Hyper-V5. To do that i need that all Hyper-V servers use the same Windows Updates.
    I created a collection for my Hyper-V servers and then a Software Update Group with all needed updates (checked the list of another HV-Server).
    I did a deployment on this collection using this new Software Update Group.
    I checked the Sofwtare Center's logs on the Hyper-V5 server and i saw that synchronization has a successfull state.
    But there is no updates installed or displayed in Sofwtare Center.
    Here is some screenshots : Oh no i can't post image because ... "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account." waiting to be verified since months.

    Have you try to run Software Updates Scan Cycle and Software Updates Deployment Evaluation Cycle Actions on the client? Please check ScanAgent.log and PolicyAgent.log to see whether the client received the updates deployment policy.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - can I update to Windows 7?

    I have a Satellite Pro A120 (model PSAC1A-045005 - purchased in Australia) which I wish to update to Windows 7 from XP
    The Toshiba Australia site says it is not compatible with Windows 7 and the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 is unsupported.
    Looking on the web I've found a couple of sites that say they have drivers for the computer. One address is as follows:

    Presumably these drivers would be unofficial. Would they be reliable or would it cause problems?

    I installed Win 7 on my old notebook and was able to find some necessary drivers.
    The notebook (from another manufacturer) is not officially Win 7 supported but it runs pretty well
    I spent some time for driver searching but after that was able to get most of the necessary drivers.
    I think you should test it on your A120 thats the one and real solution for you

    I have been trying to update windows server 2008 R2 after doing a fresh install. i have used HP smart Start to do the install.
    I have a HP ML 350 G5 Server  
      this is the 3rd time i have tried to install . first time i used smart start and
    selected custom install and all the required drivers and updates downloaded from hp fine. i can connect to the internet fine but when i click windows update it starts checking for updates finds something some thing which i think is the update manager. then blanks out
    the down load screen and then it comes back on with windows could not search for new update error code 80072F8F. the second i just went with a streight install with out smart and got the same results then with smart start but express install. again with the
    same results.
    under update history i have windows update agent 7.6.7600.256 successful important 5/2/2011

  • I can't update my windows 7 64x anymore, please help.

    Last month my brother gave me his old computer, the thing is he is addicted to gaming, he had like 60 of them on the computer. So I deleted all of his files and let my windows 7 reset all the way. But ever since I can't complete my updates anymore, well
    they can update but when I (re)start the computer then it starts configuring the updates and just stops at 30% and then says 'Failure configuring' and it restores to the point before the (197) updates, which I have to do every single time when I shut the computer
    off. Now an addition to the problem is, I was planning on starting to develop things in Visual Studio, but the program tells me I need a newer version of the Windows 7.
    Can anyone help me with this problem?

    Thanks in advance. I recently bought a t60 and I'm attempting to get my windows updates. Everything downloads correctly, but nothing wants to install! I have no clue what might be wrong with the compy. I think it might be the thinkvantage productivity center program blocking off the installations or maybe the symantec antivirus on the computer. Does anyone know what mgiht becausing the failing to install?

    Running XP by any chance?  Here's the MS fix.

  • ITunes freezes, can't update ipod, windows and itunes doesn't see my pod

    I have a 2nd gen Ipod with the really sensitive buttons under the screen and whenever I try to plug my ipod into my PC w/xp nothing good happens. It used to be fine about a month ago and now its screwing up. I never dropped it or did anything bad to it.
    I plug it in.
    I get a windows error message in the bottom right that says "this blah blah blah has malfunctioned and windows can not recognize it"
    That message soon goes away and windows makes that little ding sound.
    After that iTunes just freezes up. I cant minimize it, play songs, or do anything. completely frozen.
    My Computer doesnt even see it.
    The ipod flashes "do not disconnect" until I unplug it.
    When I unplug it itunes starts working after a couple seconds.
    Sometimes it will completely drain the battery right after I charge it fully and it will reset itself and stay off.
    anybody know whats goin on?
    Ive done pretty much everything on this website to fix it and nothing.

    Finaly I thought Server Side Include would be the easiest way to achieve my goal.
    I took a text and save it as HTML; open it with notepad and erase all HTML tags, leaving just, I think the, the requested tag for tex, heraafter copy of my file:

    This error code means that the specified path couldn't be found.
    To fix this issue, I suggest we try following steps and try to reinstall again:
    Step 1: Clean update temp files:
    1. Press Windows key + R, type service.msc and press enter. 
     2. Stop Windows update service.
    3. Run following command lines one by one to clear update temp files:
    cd %windir%
    ren SoftwareDistribution SDTemp
    exit
    4.  Restart Windows update service.
    Step 2: Clear windows store catch:
    Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog.
    Type WSReset.exe, and click/tap on OK.
    The Store will now open, and state the following: The cache for the store was cleared. You can now browse the store for apps
    Then, please try to update Windows 8.1 again.

    I have been through some forums, but can't find a definite answer regarding updating Surface RT 8.1
    We have some Windows Surface RT 8.1 devices, as RT they are non-domain. My query is:
    1. Is there a WSUS (or System Center config manager) which can handle updates for Windows RT devices like surface?
    2. Since we have more then 60 devices, is there a way we can install the updates without having to connect each of them to the internet and downloading the updates separately.

    Dear all,
    Thanks for the tips...none of them worked but I found the key to finding what works through the posts...first of all, it was not as simple as going into the permissions and turning mic and webcam on - they were both on.  I then was trying to follow the other post about reinstalling the drivers but had to first figure out how to do this - i.e. where they could be found.  During this process I went followed the following tip:
    Open Windows Sound Control Panel and click on the Communications tab. Select there the appropriate option for what Windows should do when communications activity is detected.
    What I found was the microphone that I was trying to deinstall was showing there are the default and when I went to test it, I noted that on this tab, it was down to 0 volume.  I moved the volume to the max, tested it and then went into skype and voila...it worked!
    What is irritating about all of this - guess it is real life - we all have problems and the fixes are in many cases different.  At any rate, thanks to this forum I was able to fix my problem!
