Contact iTunes store support and pay what you owe.

  • How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad?

How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad? I don't want to delete 3 separate times for each item. I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. It wasn't always so tedious was it?
Here's the "Help" I got from Apple. They even quoted my question back to me then proceeded to answer with something very different and completely missing the point.
I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
    1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
    2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
    4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
    5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off.  I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option.  I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back.  This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work.  It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes.  However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

  • HT201475 I am currently running OSX 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. Can I upgrade straight to Yosemite and if I can what issues will I face?

I am currently running OSX 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. Can I upgrade straight to Yosemite and if I can what issues will I face?

    1. It depends on what Mac model you have. If it's incapable of running Yosemite, installing an intermediate version won't help with that.
    2. You'll lose the ability to run PowerPC software, and some other programs may also be incompatible. If something goes wrong, you might lose data; back your computer up first. There aren't any issues specifically associated with skipping versions.

Problem now resolved as I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.  Seems App Store doesn't like anything previous to 10.6.

    thanks

Why do people think they are postiing in a notebook forum when if you look around, this is clearly something else.
If you really want a new Mac you have to buy one. That is part of the fun of owning laptops, they are not upgradeable.

  • Some apps are dark and "waiting" - can anyone help?

I just plugged my phone into my desktop and all of a sudden, a mess of apps showed up and they are dark. I selected them and they are now "waiting." Anyone know what's going on?

    Hi CDNStatenIsland,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This discussion post has some good steps you can try if your apps appear to be stuck waiting to download:
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.
    Cheers,

  • Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard, and then Mountain Lion, on my 2009 MacBook with OS X 10.5.8?

I want to upgrade to Snow Leopard so I have access to iCloud for all my devices. I bought my MacBook mid 2009 and am currently running OS X 10.5.8. Does anyone know if I am able to upgrade before I go and buy Snow Leopard?
    Thanks.

You can upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any third party Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 from the Apple Store as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
To upgrade your iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store if you have at least a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Can't upgrade apps on my computer

I am trying to upgrade applications, specifically Safari and iPhoto, on my new iMac using Mountain Lion.  I have recently changed my original apple ID to my email address, the same as my new iCloud account.  Everything seems to work okay, except when I get a message that updates are available for my computer and I need to sign in in order to download them.  The window comes up with my old ID and won't allow me to change it to my new ID.  My new ID and password are recorded correctly on my Manage My Account page at apple.com and my new ID is shown at the top of the iTunes Store page.  Everything looks okay, except I can't authorize the upgrades.
    What is the solution?
    Thanks!
    ~~Margo

An Apple ID is tied to a specific account. Everything purchased under that ID is tied to that account and only that account. When you get a new Apple ID all the apps purchased under the old ID can only be updated if you log into the App Store with the old ID. Any new apps purchased under the new ID can only be updated using the new ID.
To get apps transferred over in your case can only be done by Apple. You will need to contact them for help:

  • Can I upgrade to Mountain Lion and to Mavericks?

I never upgraded any further than Snow Leopard because I thought my MacBook Pro couldn't, I'm now thinking I made a mistake.  I have been reading some of the posts on here and it seems that if the Mac is mid/late 2007 it can be upgraded.  I have found out through my serial number that it was made in March 2007 obviously bought a little later than that but it is boarder line on the recommendation.  These are the specs for the macbook, if anyone can put my mind at ease it would be helpful, i just need to know if upgrading is really worth my while.  I run an imac and it's completely up to date so I know what I'm missing.

No. You need the same requirements for Mountain Lion as for Yosemite. You need a model identifier of 3,1 or later.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase a redemption code at the Online Apple Store: OS X Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. Use the code to redeem a download of Mountain Lion from the App Store. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later.
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model
                 Identifier 5,1 or later.
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later.
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • Upgrading APPS R11 middleware and database

    Hi everybody!
    I have installed the apps R11 ver11.5.10.2(English & Albanian), DB 10g patchset 3 in Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 U2.
Now i wont to upgrade as much as possible the database tier and middleware tier, without going to R12.
Is there some documentation for the upgrade process of database and the application server?
At what version of application server can i upgrade without going to R12?
    Thanks in advance, Soni.

    Hi Soni,
i checked my prod environment and saw that my application server is 1.0.2.2.2 Rollup 5.
According to metalink Doc ID: 254618.1 Oracle HTTP Server Patches Certified to be used with E-Business Suite 11i , does it mean that this is the most latest version i can upgrade to(my existing one)? You are running on the latest Rollup patch, so no additional patches are required.
In other words, if i want to upgrade to Application server 10g, it would be impossible?
I want to upgrade to 10.1.2.X for Web Server & J2EE application or 10.1.3.X(always if possible) , because i want to deploy some custom applications developed in JDeveloper where i use ADF BC.
Is it possible without upgrading to R12?OracleAS 10g is not certified with Oracle Apps 11i, and you cannot replace Oracle Applications 1.0.2.2.2 with OracleAS 10g.
If you want to use OracleAS 10g as an application server with Oracle E-Business Suite, you need to upgrade to R12.

  • HT4623 After requesting updates for several apps on my ipad 2, yesterday, the screen image of the app continues to say "waiting." Each app is stuck in waiting mode. help

Yesterday, I was updating several apps in the app updates section in the app store icon. I requested update for Facebook and two other apps. Now those apps are stuck or frozen. Under the icon on the screen it says, "waiting." On the store app page screen, it says, "instaling." I cannot get into either of those apps. What do I need to do to unfreeze my facebook and the other app? Thanks, gracefromok

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • HT1773 Can I upgrade to 10.5 and buy the flawed Quicken Elements?

Running 10.4.11 on an old iMac G5 and Quicken 2007 for Mac.  As of November I suddenly cannot download transactions from my bank (TD Bank).  After hours of telephone conversations with TD Bank's technical staff and Quicken Help, I have been informed that the bank transactions will no longer work on Quicken 2007 for Mac.  So, can I upgrade my 10.4.11 to a 10.5 and then buy the (Iknow badly flawed) Qucken Elements in order to maintain my Quicken bank transaction services (in place since 2003)?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. Buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
