Can't upgrade core device softward on BB Storm
Hello,
I'm actually trying to somehow get the icon on my BB Storm 1 for the new Verizon contact backup assistant, but not quite sure how to go about it. I'm thinking it may appear if I do the core software upgrade that the Desktop Manager software shows as available....problem is, all I keep getting is this error message: The device does not have enough space for your selections. Select fewer applications.
I've deleted about all the third party applications that I can and I still don't know how to make enough room for the upgrade with the current core software still being on the phone. Any help will be appreciated.

I recently installed a new hard drive in a MacBook 2007 and then 10.6.3. I'd like to be able to Sync iCal to the calendars I have created on other devices (new iCloud account and an ME account). I can't upgrade to 10.7 or 10.8 because the MacBook is 32 bit. Just looking for a workaround as this is not a primary device.
You should update to the latest version of Snow Leopard, 10.6.8 - you can download it here; however it's still not compatible with iCloud and though you can connect to access your email you cannot access any other of iCloud's facilities.
However some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. I've not tried it: use at your own discretion.

Are you sure you can't upgrade to Lion? It requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, which you may well have, though it also needs 2GB RAM so you might need to add additional RAM (might not be worth it for what you want). The published specs don't mention 32 or 64 bit. You can buy Lion by ringing the Apple Store at the number at bottom left of this page. -

I have an iMac purchased new about 5 years ago with OS 10.4.11. I would like to upgrade to Lion. I currently have a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB of ram. Can I upgrade to Lion, and what is the best way to do so?

s long as they already have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed in it.All a person needs to do with that type of iMac is to upgrade/max out their Ram. They claim that an Interl iMac with Core 2 Duo is all that is needed, as long as it has OS 10.6.8 installed. They say you don`t need the "Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor"
But I wonder about the RAM speed, the iMac 2.33Ghz uses DDR2 SDRAM, which I believe is rated at 667Mhz. Lion maybe installed but it might be problems running smoothly or not?
Did some quick checking and the iMacs apple is selling this year use 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM.
The only thing to do is to make sure you have a good back-up, Install your RAM and install Snow Leo, then wait a couple of hours and install Lion.

Mac Pros are not PowerMacs. In 2006, Apple changed all its cheesegrater enclosure Macs to have the Xeon chip installed, and changed the name to Mac Pro at that that time from PowerMac G5. That said, all Mac Pros can upgrade to a minimum of 10.7.5. Only the earliest ones can't upgrade to 10.8 and above. 10.7 and later do not have Rosetta, the ability to run PowerPC (pre-2006) applications natively. For other pitfalls, read this tip.

Ipod Touch can't find Bluetooth device. (Jam Box)
Upgraded Itunes software did a backup and restore on the Ipod.
My PC sees Jam Box fine. IPod used to work with JamBox. Reset Jambox, no luck.
Followed every instruction from the forums. Still no luck.

My Q: Can I upgrade my memory ram from 8GB to 16GB ?Sure. Make sure that you buy the RAM specified for your computer - 204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMMs - and purchase from a reputable dealer such as Crucial, OWC, etc.
You can go to the Crucial website and use the System Scanner app to get the correct RAM for your unit.

Can I Upgrade my computer to Lion. I have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor. My computer is 6 years old. Right now I have Snow Leopard.
I have an old iMac about that age that I upgraded to Lion to test my 3rd party applications for compatibility. It upgraded quite simply. Please backup or save all your info/etc to an external CD/DVD/Hard drive, then try to run the installer. The Lion installer will analize your Mac for compatibility before it does anything, and will alert you to it's decisision. My 17" iMac is also 2 GHZ Intel core duo. Surprisingly for many of the things I use it for it works as good as my multi thousand dollar MacPro workstation. Best of luck. But Lion isn't compatible with many third party applications and drivers for printers; scanners; etc.
