Can't upgrade iMovie

I've got 9.0.4 (1635) iMovie, that works. I can open it and do something, but I don't use it yet, "for future use", so I can't say is it works correct.
Bought a MBP 13" 2011 with iLife inside (GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie) GarageBand and iPhoto are ok, but iMovie says that I can upgrade it from another Apple ID (I've got another, but it's same situation).
I've tried to manually download iMovie 9.0.8 but it says that I must upgrade it from App Store, tried to search, read discussions, nothing helps

it was not actual OS. after I bought mouintan lion - I CAN upgrade iMovie

can i upgrade imovie 08 to something that does slow motion?

There is also a free app called JES Deinterlacer that can do slow or fast motion outside of iMovie 08.

  • Why i can´t upgrade iMovie to 10.0.0.?

    hello,
Why I cant´t upgrade iMovie to version 10.0.0.?
I have version 8.0.6. and a MacBook Pro (end of 2008).
The App Store won´t show me the upgrade and it isn´t in the purchased-list.....
    What can I do?

The free upgrade to iMovie version 10 requires your machine have iMovie version 9 installed.
You have version 8 so the upgrade isn't free.

Thanks I already tried it and when I try to install the package there is an alert that states that I should install the version thats on this mac from the Mac App Store...I orginally installed it from a iLife'11 disc...so there is no username attached to the download...experience similar issues with Garageband...any help will be appreciated.

  • Can't update iMovie on Mid-2007 with Mavericks

Even though Apple says that Mavericks support Mid 2007 iMacs, mine has a ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 graphics card and consequently, I can't upgrade iMovie '11 and it has been temporarily rendered inoperable.   Apparenty the new upgraded iMovie can't support this card.
I find it hard to believe that I can run Final Cut X and Adobe Premiere on Mavericks, but not iMovie.
WHY doesnt' Apple let you know that?  Or did I miss something somewhere?
I've had to reinstall my old version of iLife '11 to get iMovie to work again. Now, I'm back to the '11 versions of iLife and if I do the upgrade then it will render iMovie '11 useless.  So now I'm thinking this is a Mavericks issue.
    Am I doing something wrong?

I called this problem into Apple and they solved it for me.  The problem is in the downloader associated with iTunes.  Skip that step and go to Apple.com and download the new iTunes softwere update (Version 11.1) directly.  I did this and installed it successfully.  After restarting the computer iTunes recognized my phone and all was well.  Then I updated and installed the ios7 update without any problems.  No charge.  Full cudo's to Apple!

  • How can I upgrade from iMovie 7.4.1 while running Mac OSX 10.7.5?

I am trying to upgrade iMovie 7.4.1, but I don't know where to get the next version of the software.
I am currently running OSX 10.7.5 on a 2008 iMac.
    Thanks.

With the above listed config that I have (iphoto 7.1.5 on an older iMac running OSX 10.6.8), how can I move my iPhoto library from this old iMac (2006) to my NEW iMac (2011) that is running iPhoto 9.5.1 ?
To open an iPhoto 7.1.x version in iPhoto '11 you need to run the iPhoto Library Upgrader. See this Support document:
iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrade
Download and install the upgrader,  then run it on your iPhoto 7.1.5 library. After that, iPhoto will be able to open your library and upgrade it to version 9.5.1. And you will be able to merge the libraries with if Library Manager.

  • I've already purchased iMovie 9.0.6 on my computer, but i can't upgrade it. it said there is available update on another account, but i just got one account on my computer...

I've already purchased iMovie 9.0.6 on my computer, but i can't upgrade it. it said there is available update on another account, but i just got one account on my computer...

    Updates:
I found why the original backup file is not showing on iTunes. Becuase it is corrupted.
All other folders contains Infor.plist, Manifest.mbdb, Manifest.plist and Status plist files.
But the folder that contains origianal backup files does not have those files above.
I think the only way I can restore the data is using third party extracting software.
Do you know anything about that kind of software?

  • I need iMovie but can't upgrade to Mavericks (on a MacBook plastic case early 2008, running 10.6.8)

I used to have IMovie on my MacBook (plastic case early 2008), running 10.5.8.
Then I upgraded to 10.6.8, and added extra memory, it's 2 GB now. Thus I lost  iLife, that I used to have.
I tried to purchase iMovie 11 but it requires 10.9 or higher.
Unfortunately I cannot upgrade, because my Mac Book is too old (only aluminium case ones from late 2088 can upgrade).
    So...what should I do?
Look for older versions of iLife/iMovie, but where do I get them?
Or can I get iMovie 6 and the rest of iLife from my old installation disks (10.5.8) of when I purchased the MacBook? And how do I do that?

    Thanks!
iLife '09 apparently requires 4 GB and I only have 2. I'll see if I can find the DVD that had to be in my original machine box.

  • Can I upgrade my imovie 9 in my mac 10.6.8 ?

I have a Macbook pro 10.6.8 with imovie 09. I tried to upgrade the imovie  by purchasing it on app store but it says that I need to have Mac OS X 10.10... so... how can I upgrade any of these two? I need to do a wedding video for my best friend!!!!Thank you!!

Does your MBP meet the requirements?
    OS X Yosemite Requirements
MacBook Air (late 2008 or later)
MacBook (late 2008 aluminum or later)
MacBook Pro (mid 2007 or later)
    iMac (mid 2007 or later)
Mac mini (early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (early 2009)
2 GB RAM minimum (I recommend a minimum of 4 GB of RAM)
8 GB of drive space minimum. For basic installation, with only the default apps plus one or two of your own favorites, then 16 GB is a practical minimum.
If it does you download and installed Yosemite OS X 10.10 from the the App Store.
    Backup first.

  • Can't Upgrade iPhoto 9.4.3 or iMovie 9.09

I currently have iPhoto 9.4.3 on my Macbook 5,2 with OS X 10.9. I tried to upgrade it to 9.5. I manually checked updates in iPhoto and there isn't a purchase history of iPhoto in my account. I cannot find a upgrade package either like a combo update file. How can I upgrade it anyway? This also happens to iMovie. Garage band is fine because it's free now and I just purchased it again. And after I installed my Keynote, it vanished from purchase history. Pages was successfully installed but still remain uninstalled status in Mac App Store. It has been very weird since upgraded this old Macbook to 10.9.

This macbook comes with nVidia 9400M, this model is supported offically.

I was to ask the same with my processor. I just upgraded my hard drive to 750GB, and replaced my battery, but I am still getting the spinning beachball.  Im happy to just replace the processor if this ball goes away.  I do have 250GB free on it. and Im not doing much with this machine other than the occasional iMovie render.

  • How can i upgrade my macbook pro if i dont have credit card?

every time i try to upgrade imovie from appstore it tells me that i have to sign in, when i do that it says to me that this account havent been used in itunes store so i cant upgrade it. i tried to download the last version of imovie and when i tried to, it tolds me that i have to do it only in the appstore.
What should i do if i dont have a credit card?

You can set up an apple ID without a credit card, but to update/make purchases in iTunes and the app store, you need to have a credit/debit card on your account. If you don't have one at the moment, I would suggest getting a prepaid credit card from Walmart/CVS or something like that. $5 to get it, load like $25 on there and you would be set to go

  • How can I get iMovie 10 to see my iPhoto Library after I relocated it.

How can I get iMovie 10 to see my iPhoto Library after I relocated it. I moved my iPhoto Library to a secondary hard drive, because my main SSD wasn't large enough. I then upgraded to IMove 10.0.4 and also moved my iMovie Library to the secondary hard drive. When I highlight the iPhoto Library in iMovie there is nothing there. Any ideas on how to get iMove to find my relocated iPhoto Library?

I think I may have solved my own problem. I left cliked on the relocated iPhoto Library and went to "Open with >." I then went to "Other...." I then set the wind located in the bottom labled "Enable:" to "All Applications" and picked iMovie. It gave me a error, but the ultimate result was that iMove now was linked to my iPhoto Library.

Apparently, Yosemite breaks iMovie HD (a.k.a. iMovie 06).   I am considering a new Macintosh with 10.9.1  I would like to go to 10.9.5.
    Thanks

Yes. You can run the Mac OS X 10.9.5 combo updater manually.
