Can't upgrade iWork apps

I just bought a new iMac with Pages, Keynote, iPhoto etc preloaded. I immediately upgraded to Yosemite. App Store recommended new upgrades for all of those Apps. But when I hit Upgrade I got a message saying "update Unavailable for this Apple iD". I only have one Apple iD but Idid buy the new iMac from the store by telephone. Could they somehow have associated a different iD to this iMac at the store? It is as though I am trying to use someone else's Pages App or something.
By the way, an Update for iTunes was offered and installed OK.

Have you tried downloading them from the Purchases page in App Store? It is quite possible that the vendor used their Apple ID to install the applications. Call and ask them.

  • Can I upgrade iWorks'08 to iWorks'09 on Mac OS 10.7.5?

I have iWorks'08 (Pages 3.0.3, Numbers 1.0.3 , Keynote 4.0.4) on my MacBook Air using Mac OS 10.7.5.  I bought a new iMac (10.10.03) with Pages 5.5.3, Numbers 3.5.3, Keynote 6.5.3). When I try to open a document, it says I need to save them in iWorks 9. Can I upgrade for free on my MacBook Air?

Apple no longer sells the iWork '08, or iWork '09 DVDs, or offers the individual applications through the OS X App Store. If you still have the iWork '08 DVD, you can install it on Yosemite 10.10.3, and then apply the individual iWork '08 application updates. This will get you a free iWork '08 that works on Yosemite. Then you can export your Pages '08 documents as Word documents, and they will open in Pages v5.5.3.
iWork '08 updaters (assume iWork '08 installed):
    Pages '08 v3.0.3
    Numbers '08 v1.0.3
    Keynote '08 v4.0.4
For less than $25USD, you can purchase the iWork '09 DVD and immediately apply the Apple iWork 9.3 updater to it. This too runs on Yosemite, offers improved features over iWork '08, and 100+ feature improvements over Pages v5.5.3. Don't use any of the free Pages, Numbers, or Keynote that came with your iMac.This would be my recommendation, and then look for a longer-term word processor that allows you independence from proprietary Apple documents.

  • Have a iPhone 5s and can't Download iwork apps for free

I bought my iPhone 5s since 1 year (after september). There i get the iWork apps for free. But now they cost money.
    Some Information :
    Now I´m on iOS8
I have changed one time my email-adress
My iPhone 5s is registered on my apple id
I hope you can help me, because i have tried so much...

I had the same problem on my iPad Air: i deleteded the apps before IOS8, then after the upgrade iWork was not on the cloud for free anymore. Thanks to your question I remembered I changed my appleID after the download of iWork. So I had to login with my previous appleID on the appstore and i could download them again for free. Maybe it works the same for you (but I'm not sure since you say your iPhone it's registered on your appleID). Give it a try.

  • I changed my apple I.d and know I can't upgrade my apps

I changed my apple I.D and know I can't upgrade my apps

Apps are forever linked to the ID used to download then and can only be udpated with that ID.  If this is a prolem for you you need to delete the apps you can't update with you rnew ID and download them again with you new ID or alternatively don't delete then and update thenm with you old ID

  • Can't upgrade iWork 09 to iWork 13, App Store shows INSTALLED and will NOT download

When I purchased a MBP in 2010 it came with iWork 09.  Each time I launch either Keynote, Pages, or Numbers it tells me there is a new version available and asks if I would like to install.  If I say "YES" I get taken to the app store and each of the apps says "INSTALLED" and does not have a download option.
I tried manually moving /Applications/iWork 09 to /tmp but when I revisit the app store it wants to charge me for the free upgrade.
No idea how to fix this.
I wanted to demo this cool new collaboration feature, but it looks like it will have to wait.

DO NOT GET IWORK 13!!!!!!! IT REDUCES FUNCTIONALITY AND CANNOT OPEN OLD KEYNOTES!!!!! IT DOES NOT SUPPORT EVERYTHING THAT IT USED TO!!!!! ITS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT!!!!!!!!

We've an article that can help restore your Mac's ability to connect to the App Store so that you may update your game successfully.

  • Can't upgrade my apps

I can't get the upgrades to my existing apps. I am logged in my account and I have already tried to log off and on again, but when I try to upgrade them, a window pops out asking to log in the app store, but with another email that I can't change, so that I'm forever without getting the new versions of the existing apps. How can I fix that?

At least one product from the App Store was installed while signed in with the other ID. You'll either have to sign in with that ID to update it, or remove it and install while signed in with your ID. If you don't know which products are involved, see below.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Can't open iWork Apps in Lion

Since upgrading to Lion and having a defective drive replaced, I can no longer open my iWork applications. I get a crash report message that I can send to Apple. I reinstalled from the original disks without problem. Before I go about trhowing out Preference files willy niilly, is there something I should do to help?

Install this update, Apple iWork 9.1.
If you reinstall iWork, then be sure it's first fully uninstalled. See the following:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Can I get iwork apps for free in old mac after purchasing new ipad air

I just got a new ipad air which came along with free iwork and ilife apps. I would like to know whether I can transfer the apps to my macbook pro for free?
As when I browse through app stores it actually shows as not purchased.

I was under the impression they were separate apps. When you bought your iPad Air, you got the iOS versions, but if you want the MacOS versions, you will need to purchase them.
They were free when you purchased a new iOS/MacOS product, but the free software would most likely coincide with that.

  • Suddenly Can't Upgrade iPad Apps-Any suggestions?

My iPad 3 (new iPad) is now a year old and working perfectly with the exception of the fact that as of the past 48 hours I've been unable to update the 9 apps that I have waiting on queue. I simply get a blank black screen and since I have had no trouble updating my iPod during the same time period, I'm quite concerned about this to say the least. I've rebooted to no avail and I'm running the latest iOS upgrade as well. Any advice in this situation would be most sincerely appreciated.
    Sam

I updated my iPad to iOS 8.0.2 now I can't up date any apps. I tried resetting the iPad, I tried reinstalling the apps nothing is working. All I see on the screen is that the app is "waiting" This has started when I updated my iPad. Any suggestions? When I reset the iPad the apps go back to normal but when I try to open them they go to updating and the problem starts all over again. help me please
    Thanks

  • I just got an iPad3.  I connected it to my PC.  It syned everyone of the pictures in my picture folder that it could.  Now I can't upgrade any apps or add any apps. How do I get my picture folders from my PC off the iPad?

I just got an iPad3. It synced with my PC where I have my iPhone synced.  Trouble is that it synced years of pictures from my PC photo album.  Now there isn't room for apps, updating apps, or other.  How do I remove the pictures from my iPad?  I want to update to software 6.0

Synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to/remain on the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page.

  • I can't upgrade my apps I get a white screen and when I click on it nothing.

I need help with my upgrades they show a white page and won't upgrade. I have been able to before.

You are not alone. This is a problem that many users are experiencing now and have been seeing for days. Apple is working on the fix for this.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this, because you cant fix it. It is a workaround only.
if nothing else works, update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.

  • Can't upgrade iPhone apps because store says they are "no longer available"

I checked for application updates for my iPhone in iTunes and a couple apps show up, but when I click "Download All Free Updates" iTunes gives an error: "the item you tried to buy is no longer available"
This makes no sense -- I tracked it down to two apps, "Feeds" and "SysMon" but here is what is weird. Both of those apps show new versions in the app store just by manually searching for them, there are clearly new versions in the store, and iTunes is telling me this, but I can't download them. Has anyone else seen this when trying to update applications?

Have you tried clicking the update buttons on each app separately? I have occasionally gotten some weird errors when using the "all available updates" button.
