Can't Upgrade to Parrot Pro because it's already purchased
Hi there. I bought the pro version of Parrot Voice Recorder a while ago (last year maybe?) when I had my Z10. I've upgraded to a passport and all my apps installed fine (including iGrann Pro). However, Parrot is only the free version. I used the in-app upgrade option which takes me to the purchase interface. The purchase interface then says I don't need to re-purchase it because I've already paid for the pro version. However, I don't download a new version, and there is no way to upgrade with a serial number (not that I ever gone one) in-app. It's an excellent app and I use it constantly (I'm a journalist).
I've had no response from the developer(s), so now I'm left to ask here if there's a work-around. Should I just ask for a refund (I don't think I even have the receipt anymore) so I can "re-purchase it?"
SO. Frustrating. And I don't know if it's a BB World problem, or a developer issue.
Help?!
Hi there. For starters, the developer contacted me and said that Parrot needs to be open for a few minutes and then it will contact the server and check for registration on the device. If it's a paid account, the software will switch itself to the first version. So problem solved (basically, the problme was I was impatient...my bad).
Secondly, transcribing text is, in journalism, always a manual process. We have to transcribe ourselves for written stories. You could try using Dragonsoft Naturally Speaking or something like that. Here are some solutions...some work better than others.
https://transcribe.wreally.com/
http://www.nuance.com/dragon/transcription-solutions/index.htm
Hopefully one of those works. Naturally, the better the recording (and the more clear and deliberate the speaker), the better the results.

Hello,
I have a Mac Pro. Here are the specs :
Mac OS X 10.5.8
MacPro1,1
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
When OS 10.6 came out, I found out that I couldn't upgrade to it because of my graphic card. In the technical specifications it is mentioned that :
OpenCL
requires one of the following graphics cards or graphics processors:
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce 8600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, GeForce GTX 285, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GS, Quadro FX 4800, Quadro FX5600
ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870
Now, OS 10.5.8 is becoming more and more outdated. I would like to know how can I upgrade my Mac Pro ? What kind of graphic card can I put in ?
Thank you for any help and/or information !Dalfe wrote:

It's been a while since I've used it but I installed Snow Leopard on my old Mac Pro 1,1 with the 7300GT and it worked. OpenCL may not have but the rest of it did. I don't think what you've quoted says you can't upgrade but only that an upgrade won't deliver all of the features in Snow Leopard. Indeed, I was able to move the HD in the 1,1 Mac Pro into the 5,1 Mac Pro, boot from it (10.6.4 is the minimum the 2010 Mac Pro will boot with), clone it and then updated it. -
How can I upgrade my MacBook Pro from OS X 10.5.8 to most recent Operating System ?
I just bought a Ipad Air and realized than my MacPro does not support Icloud.Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
terms apply.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Lion System Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory
3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
4. 7GB of available space
5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
Model Identifier 5,1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.

Can´t upgrade to mountain Lion because says that my HD is only for Time Machine use
Can´t upgrade to mountain Lion because says that my HD is only for Time Machine use, what can I do?
The installer is probably finding a file called backups.backupdb
That is where Time Machine stores it backups so it figures it can't install there
The Time Machine backup should never be done to the system drive but another drive instead

I can't start my macbook pro because I turned it off when I got a trojan on my mac. When I turn on my mac I get the message that my computer restarted because of a problem. Then it turns off again and turns on again and it starts all over. What can I do?
Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery

I am using an I-mac series 4 with a 2GHZ processor, I tried to convert to Lion and the rresponse was the chip was not fast enough, can I upgrade the chip or do I need to purchase a new computer?
Unfortunately yes, but Snow Leopard is still a great OS in the meantime so don't rush in too quick if you really don't need to.
Good Luck

I purchased a tv show. I like it so much I was willing give as a gift. Unfortunately the gift button doesn't appear. It seems because I have already purchased it for myself, I am unable to give it as a gift.
Long over due screen shots.
Clearly the problem is ANY item I have purchased/own can not be gifted.
I can't believe I am the only one having this problem.
By the way I tried from my desktop in iTunes and guess what.......
SAME PROBLEM.
I find this all very amusing.
Someone in charge at iTunes HQ has either missed this or has some explanation for this.
I would love to know the reason. -
Can i upgrade my macbook pro retina internal storage
Hi,
My macbook pro retina came with 128gb internal storage, but i got a gopro recently and the videos take up loads of storage! Can i upgrade the internal storgae or do i have to get an external hard drive to store it on?
Thankshttp://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDAP12R480/
But you will void your warranty if you still have one.
An external drive is a good, and cheaper option. -
Can I upgrade my Macbook Pro from 2007?
I have a Macbook Pro bought June 2007 (I thought late June so should be the mid-2007 model) but am not sure it can be upgraded to Mountain Lion. I checked the tech specs and my processor looks like the late 2006 model, i.e. 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Does anyone know what makes the 2006 model incompatible for Mountain Lion?
10.6.8 is the best for operating system performance on that machine anyway.
If you want 10.8, buy a new machine is the better choice.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still -
I have logic express 9.1.7, can i upgrade to logic pro
I have Logoc Express 9.1.7, can I upgrade this to the latest Logic Pro app? If not, will all my plug ins, instruments etc work if I am forced to purchase the new app?
I think you'll be able to run okay in the new version. The other features you'll get are: Better mastering tools, a new synthesizer (sculpture) and the Space designer reverb. I think they are all

HT1338 how can I upgrade my Logic Pro 6
I bought the Logic 6 years ago, how can I upgrade this now?
robertYou'll need to buy a new copy of Logic Pro if you want anything newer. Logic 6 was discontinued eight years ago, so no updates will be available for it. Logic Pro 9 is available through the Mac App Store.

Can I upgrade from Final Cut Pro 7 to Final Cut Pro X ?
Two more important tidbits of information:
1) There is a free trial of FCP X, that is fully functional for 30 days, so you can try it out and learn the ropes before you buy.
2) In case you want to bring in some old projects cut in 7, and work on them in X, you are going to need a tool called 7toX to convert them. -
How can i upgrade free without going through Apple app store that ask for a credit card? How do i stop the pop-ups that recently started after downloading a free coupon from the web? How do i get rid of this virus?

Since you're using 10.6, you can't use AdwareMedic, unfortunately. However, you could use the manual removal instructions in my Adware Removal Guide instead. They should help you find everything that AdwareMedic would.
I don't know that I would advise trying to upgrade from 10.6 all the way to 10.10 just to run AdwareMedic. -
I have an older Mac ibook and have bought ipod touch and ipad - I cannot access music in itunes, 'cause it is version 10.8 - can't upgrade though, 'cause my operating system is Tiger - any suggestions besides getting new computer ?
Purchase Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD if you have an iBook G4 or Mac OS X 10.6 on DVD if you have a MacBook. Places such as Amazon sell Mac OS X 10.5, while Apple sells Mac OS X 10.6.
