Can't upload files in Firefox, using flash uploader. Already reinstalled flash, works ok in Chrome.

I have a website where I can upload files to the site's server utilizing Flash - I have the latest Firefox and the latest Flash plugin (uninstalled and reinstalled). But the upload is failing - I only get an "Unknown I/O message. but only in Firefox - Works ok in Chrome. I have already run the Adobe uninstall/reinstall process, and I have also tried running Firefox in Safe Mode and the problem persists.

Hi Bilinbaja,
I am not sure if you are using FTP to upload the files, however this error can sometimes refer to a hardware issue. Please try to toggle the hardware acceleration by right clicking on a item using the flash plug in and selecting settings.
Please let us know if this improves the performance as well as if this also happens on other computers, or if it still happens after you delete cache and cookies. Each browser has its own cache, Firefox's cache may also be longer. [[How to clear the Firefox cache]]
Did this help? We look forward to your reply.

  • Hi, I am using HP11 and iPlanet web server. When trying to upload files over HTTP using FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" that are bigger than a few Kilobytes i get a 408 error. (client timeout).

Hi, I am using HP11 and iPlanet web server. When trying to upload files over HTTP using FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" that are bigger than a few Kilobytes i get a 408 error. (client timeout). It is as if the server has decided that the client has timed out during the file upload. The default setting is 30 seconds for AcceptTimeout in the magnus.conf file. This should be ample to get the file across, even increasing this to 2 minutes just produces the same error after 2 minutes. Any help appreciated. Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this, I couldn't see one for iPlanet and Web, many thanks, Kieran.

    Hi,
You didnt mention which version of IWS. follow these steps.
(1)Goto Web Server Administration Server, select the server you want to manage.
    (2)Select Preference >> Perfomance Tuning.
(3)set HTTP Persistent Connection Timeout to your choice (eg 180 sec for three minutes)
    (4) Apply changes and restart the server.
*Setting the timeout to a lower value, however, may    prevent the transfer of large files as timeout does not refer to the time that the connection has been idle. For example, if you are using a 2400 baud modem, and the request timeout is set to 180 seconds, then the maximum file size that can be transferred before   the connection is closed is 432000 bits (2400 multiplied by 180)

  • HT204053 best storage for filies deleted but used frequently wd drop box flash drive

best storage for filies deleted but used frequently wd drop box flash drive

Thanks LowLuster!  With that info I have another questions if that's ok.  First, I'm sure it's formatted to fat32.  I have learned I can't transfer movies over 4gb.  I use an external hard drive for those.  The files are ones I've downloaded from YouTube in the mp4 format and are never over 1gb.  They're all mb in size.
I didn't realize flash drives had limited writes.  Is there any way to confirm I've reached the limit?  Both times I reformatted it I was able to add back the videos I previously had on it.  I would say there were a hundred or so. Both times I left some "growing room" on the flash drive so I could add more files.  And, both times I was able to continuing adding until I had reached the max capacity.  The problem occured after I tried deleting files to free up space.  Does this make sense with "the amount you have used it" theory?  Does it start to become buggy at that point, or does it just make writes to the drive impossible?
    Thanks

Hey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...
    Cheers again..

How do I reinstall iWeb 3.0.3?  I inadvertently opened an html file of my website and tried to open it with iWeb '09. I get a message saying “Can’t open file” etc., etc. I’ve tried reinstalling the updated version. Iweb will not open.

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iWeb and see if it opens.
What happened was trying to open the html file reset the file path that iWeb saves in its preference file to tell it where to go when you launch iWeb.  Deleting the pref file and launching iWeb creates a new file and iWeb looks in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for the Domain.sites2 file it uses to create your site.

  • Upload FS Items master using flexible upload-SEM-BCS

I want to upload FS Items master using flexible upload in SEM BCS.  I was wondering if i could have a sample upload format of the file.  Kindly help.

    [email protected]

Hi Ramanathan and welcome to SDN!
Everything depends on your settings in a flexible upload method.
You may use a comment character (like an asterisk) to show fields names and choose a fields delimiter (say, ';').
In this case you may have a file for upload something like the following.
These are fields in a header
    Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4 etc.
    Field1Val;Field2Val;Field3Val;Field4Val
    These are fields in rows
    Field5 Field6 Field7 Field8 etc.
    Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val
    Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val
    Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val;Field8Val
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • How can I edit an html file in Firefox using View Source?

I have created an html webpage and saved it to my pc. I can't edit the html file in firefox when I right click on the page and select "View Source". I can view the code but I can't edit it. I can do this in IE9.
I thought I was able to do this before in Firefox.
Did my settings change somewhere that I can no longer do this?
Do I have to have something checked in the Web Developer extensions for it to work?
    I'm using Firefox 24.0
Thank you for any help with this. :)

The View Source window in Firefox cannot be used to change computer codes. Nor can the Web Developer tools.
    Sorry for any inconvenience.
    I suggest using Programmer's Notepad.

  • I can't attach files in gmail using firefox

    <i>Locking duplicate thread.<br>Please continue here: [[/questions/1014563]]</i>
    Greetings,
Starting today I'm unable to attach files to emails using my gmail account, when opening in firefox. I'm using the latest version of firefox (31.0) and have been using it fine for a couple of months. I click on the attachment button, and the search browser does not open. Email attachments work fine using safari.
I've uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, I've cleared my history, cookies and cache. I've turned my computer off and back on.
    Please help, thank you.
    Shea

If you can't add attachments to Gmail messages then you need to add an allow exception to allow pop-ups for the Google website.
Easiest to do this is to click the padlock on the location bar and click the "More Information" button to open the "Tools > Page Info" window with the Security tab selected.
    Proceed to the Permissions tab
Remove the tick on "Open Pop-up Windows" > "Use Default" and click the Allow radio button to change the permission to allow pop-ups for this domain.

  • Some clients Can't open XLSX files in Libraries using template.dotx but can open xlsx files in libraries using template.doc

If I create a new library using any Excel/Word template - DOC, DOTX, XLS, XLTX and then upload a XLSX document (or docx) then some of my clients experience issues opening the document.  My work around in the past has been to resave the document
as XLS or DOC.  Interestingly Old Libraries (Libraries using template.doc) don't have a problem with xlsx or docx documents.  (This only works because most of the clients experiencing the problem only open a few documents and we only have to
resave a few documents.  I don't know why these clients have this problem though.)
We are now testing a new Terminal Server implementation.  One with OpenOffice instead of Microsoft Office.  We can't open xlsx files on new libraries but can on old libraries.  (docx files are not a problem though)  I found a couple of
work arounds.  One work around is to click on the down arrow by the document name and select "Edit in Excel" which fails, but then clicking on the document name after will then prompt you to Open/save the document.  Clicking on Open
successfully opens the document in OpenOffice.  (So rather tedious for the users but nothing has to be changed to make it work.)
The other option is to create a template from one of the libraries that is working and then use it to create a new library and save my documents to the new library.  Then I'm prompted to Open/Save the xlsx documents in the library.  This
option is less tedious for the user but then I have to go through and recreate any libraries using template.dotx.  Creating a new library using the standard Document Library option and selecting Word or Excel 2003 does not resolve the issue - it has to
be created from a template created from an existing library that works in the Terminal Server implementation.
My boss is opting for the latter option unless I can come of with an alternative that doesn't mean additional steps for the users.  Training is an issue because most of the Terminal Server users are shop floor workers.
My question is, is there a patch or fix that addresses this issue or any other work arounds that would be less work?
Additional Info:  Our Sharepoint implementation is the Enterprise version is installed but we do not have the Excel related Features activated (and these can't be activated due to licensing).  I'm not sure if that matters or not but it is
a different configuration from how most SharePoint installations are configured.  SP1 is installed.  I have not installed any recent CU's.  Versions I see in Patch Status screen include 14.0.6029.1 (primarily) with some additional features
    reporting 14.0.6105.5, 14.0.6107.5, 14.0.6112.5 and 14.0.6114.5.
    Nancy Forbes

We have tried a couple of additional things.
We uninstalled OpenOffice and are testing LibreOffice.  I also installed CMIS from the SharePoint Administrator's toolkit, added the solution, and deployed it to my sites.  The "Producer" feature is activated on the site I am testing with.
I created a new library and posted some docx, doc, and xlsx files to it.  All files can be opened as Read-only from the Library list.  The only way I have found that I can edit the files is to Open the Library with Explorer.   I then deactivated
the producer feature and tested opening the SharePoint documents from Explorer and it worked the same.
So am I misunderstanding what the CMIS Producer feature is for?

  • Upload file in Webserver using Flex

I am currently working in Flex and in a requirement I need to upload a file from local file system to a webserver. The webserver I am using is Apache Tomcat web server . I tried doing that using FileReference class but got IOException when tried to call upload function. Anybody know how to upload
file in Flex please help me out. Its very urgent for me.
    Thanks
    Purna

You can't upload files to the server directly by using only Flex. You'll need a server-side script that can handle the actual writing of the data. I posted an example on a simple PHP + Flex file uploader back a while, you can take a look at it here: http://blog.wisebisoft.com/2009/01/28/simple-flex-file-uploader/ Good luck.

  • All of a sudden today I can't attach files in gmail using Mozilla...can in IE & Chrome.

I have cleared cache, cookies, defragged, cleaned computer. I have looked at all the solutions on line and can't figure out why all of a sudden I can't attach files in Mozilla but can using IE & Chrome. Please help. I have not done anything between when I turned the computer off last night and turned it on today.

Mine suddenly broke as well today. I tried everything from resetting firefox, to clearing cache, to starting ff in safe mode. No change. I finally figured out if I turned off popup blocking, it would work. I then figured out I could add mail.google.com to the popup exceptions list and voila, it worked!
