Can't use FN key Qosmio F55-Q502

I've made clean install of Vista Ultimate and installing ALL required drivers (everything I could find in csd.toshiba.com for this model) Now when I press FN+some of the F keys nothing happens. I can't enable/disable the touch pad, change power plan or enable/disable wi-fi. When I press the FN key ot my keyboard, the flash panel that usually appears on the top of the screen does not appear. I made format + clean install of Vista + installing drivers, but still same problem. Now I am with Windows 7 but the problem is not solved. Sorry for my poor English....

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling these utilities in this order. Reboot in between.

The Toshiba Value Added Package includes Toshiba Common Modules as well as Power Saver, Accessibility, Fnesse, Toshiba Utilites, Toshiba Password Utility, Flash Cards, PC Diagnostic, Buttons Support.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio F55 Q502 Laptop with Garmin GPS integrated system buy from US.
But when i carry it to Vietnam and try to use GPS, it not work.
I open Garmin Mobile PC, It just have US and EU maps.
I try to turn on GPS, but the satellite signal always empty.
I've tried to go around many places with clear sky view but cound'nt catch the sattelite signal.
I though that GPS is Globe Positioning system that mean it can be use everywhere over the world.
I dont know may be my GPS have problem or the GPS can't use in VietNam.
My laptop has just bought a few days and i haven't tried GPS in US before.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?

GPS is worldwide, but the maps you get with a device are genreally not.
So the GPS should be able to get a satellite fix anywhare on the planet for as long as there is good singal, but you might have to purchase the maps of the country you want (unless just having your current coordinates is enough for you).
Take the laptop somewhere with no tall buildings around you and an unobstructed view of the sky and wait for it to get a fix (it might take up to 10-15 mins on a cold start depending on the GPS chip). Don't try this inside a house or a car just to minimise any complicating factors.

yes you can.You will have to use structure in the row.
Right click on the row and create a new structure.
In this structure you can add key figure.
Maximum number of structure a query can have is two

Can't use down key because it opens automator. Does any one know how to disable this short cut?

Are you talking about the Down Arrow key? To my knowledge there is no way to use that key as a shortcut for anything. But look in the Keyboard section of System Preferences and the Keyboard shortcut tab.

Installed itunes 10.5 and now can't use function keys on my keyboard

I just downloaded iTunes 10.5.0.142 and I now can't use the function keys on my keyboards to change track, pause etc. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, why is it now ctrl+shift+m to switch to mini player? Ctrl+m doesn't do anything now

Yeah I agree the white keyboard was clunky, I dont really miss it. The problem is you can't just use the new lighter keyboards with the white imacs bc the operating system is outdated. The apple store told me I needed to upgrade my operating system and it would cost me 170 dollars, which I found incredulous.
I dont think its due to an app running or an expose issue, thanks for your responses.

Can't use certain keys in Global Address Search

When trying to run a Global Address Search that starts with a letter that's on the numeric keypad (E, R, T, D, etc.) I cannot get it to search by the letter. E.g., if I press "D" it searches for "4". Pressing the Option (aka Orange) key doesn't toggle it to alpha mode. I can search using letters that aren't on the numeric keypad just fine. And if I my search starts with a letter that's not on the numeric keypad (e.g. "L") I can choose either "D" or "4" as the next letter, e.g., if I press "D" I see "4". If I then press "L" the 4 changes do a "d" and the search shows "dl". But if I erase the "l" the "d" switches back to "4".
Bottom line: I can't choose "D" as the first character in my search. I have to launch Contacts, then search. I'm on WebOS 1.4.

Hello.
It really doesn't work that way. When you type "D", the phone shows a "4", but it searchs for "D". There is no way to distinguish when you want to make a call by number from when you want to search, so the phone gives you both options.
Try to enter a "Dave Martin" contact in your phone and search him by pressing "DL", "DA" or "MA".

Can't use product key to reinstall Office 2010 Professional Plus

I have used a legal copy of Office 10 for several months now. Recently my version of Windows became corrupted and I had to reinstall Windows, as well as all of my software. I reinstalled Office 10 Professional Plus and used my previous product key and am
told that it is not an Office 10 product key.
I attempted to go through the process of reclaiming the key at the Microsoft website but it does not find my Office product registered there. I'm not sure what to do at this point in time. Any suggestions?

Can I use product key from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit?

Hi, i have a Toshiba L505-10V and the original cds(2) with Windows 7 prenium 32-bit.
I have downloaded windows 7 prenium 64bit from here http://www.techverse.net/download-windows-7-iso-x86-x64-microsofts-official-servers/
I use the key from 32 bit but it says its not valid. Is it possible to work with the same key?
Also i download belarc to recoginise my 32bit windows key and it shows me different key from that is on the base of my pc.

According notebook specification your notebook was delivered with preinstalled Win7 64bit Home Premium and you got 32bit version on recovery DVD.
Both recovery versions are designed for your notebook model and both versions contain activation code so that both versions must not be activated.
I presume you didnt create recovery disc for preinstalled Win 7 64bit version.
You cannot use product key listed in 32bit version. If you use own Windows version you must enter valid product key that you must buy from Microsoft.

As you see this code snippet is a xml format private key. at .net platform,which can use encrypt or dencrypt.
i have try the Extension Crypt RSA ( http://pear.php.net/reference/Crypt_RSA-1.0.0/elementindex_Crypt_RSA.html ) to help me encrypt data by php.but it haven't return a currect result. the data encrypted by php cann't dencrypt by c#.
does the RSA algorithm provider by Crypt_RSA can give a stand result as c#?

I am using BO XI R2 and I come to an issue with LOV. Can LOV be used as a key-value list?
Say I have a key-value list as below:
A --> 1
B --> 2
Can LOV just list 'A, B.. ' and return 1 if user choose A and 2 if user choose B?

Tiger & Safari 2.0 - Can't Use Arrow Keys in Password Fields

Since installing Tiger and using the new Safari 2.0, password fields in online forms are not allowing the use of arrow keys. I can't go back one character or to the beginning of the typed in the password field. In fact I can't even use the mouse to click anywhere other than the end of this field. It's forcing me to type it straight through, which is not how I type or re-type passwords (* See Example Below). I need to be able go back and edit sometimes, and the arrow keys helped in previous versions, but not now. All form text fields should allow the use of the arrow keys and the mouse to change the cursor's insertion point. Internet Explorer does not do this. But to my dismay the Mac OS X Login Window does! So maybe this is part of the OS rather than just Safari. I hope Apple is listening and fixes this issue in future versions of Safari & Tiger
* Example of how to make secure passwords via the Arrow Keys:
Take two or three easy to remember words or numbers. For example I'll use "steve" "jobs" and the date Apple Computer was formed 4/1/1976 or "4176" for our purposes here. First you type in the first word...

Second you move the cursor with the arrow keys (which you can't do in Safari 2.0) to the beginning using the up-arrow, then alternate typing the second word "jobs" with a right-arrow key interspersed between each letter. So you would then type "j right-arrow o right-arrow b right-arrow s", which combined with what we already typed in step one should look like this...

Simple, easy to remember words or numbers made into secure unguessable passwords with the simple help of the Arrow Keys. Please Apple, make them usable in the password fields again.

And now in addition the above-listed issue, this browser has bogged down and is loading pages so slowly it just grinds to a halt.
At this point, I'd settle for instructions on how to fully uninstall Safari and re-install it and start over. This is flat unacceptable, and at this point I'm wondering why in the world I elected to pay for Tiger, only to be "blessed" with this disaster.
Please don't tell me to go back and reinstall the entire operating system. Not unless Apple would like a bill for the hours of my time it will take to do that, re-port all my files and re-install all my other software.
