I downloaded the new iOS software and since then I can't use iMessage or FaceTime.. I have tried resetting network settings.. And still won't work..

I just bought the new iPad WiFi but I can't activate iMessage and FaceTime.. I get message about failed connection to the WiFi network although it is connected and I can browse the web, Facebook, get stream photos and such without trouble.

I think that you will find your answer amongst the other "problem reports" for Safari 5.1 and iTunes 10.4. If you can use your Time Machine to revert to the day before you installed iTunes 10.4 (and Safari 5.1 - if you updated Safari too) you should wait for answers to other's complaints. There is a little known maxim at Mac; don't update an app or the operating system until you find no further problems reported at MacFixit, finetunedmac and Apple's own Support forums.

Can't use iMessage and FaceTime on my iPad 2 since iOS 7

With iOS 6.1.3 I could use FaceTime and iMessage perfect. Yesterday I updated my iPad (2) to iOS 7 and both Apps said there's a Restriction with this iPad. What can I do?

I was having the same problem on my iPad mini until just a few minutes ago. It kept telling me to check my network, which was working fine with all the other devices in my house. I recently noticed all my FB.posts weren't reflecting the proper time so I checked my Date and Time settings. Sure enough, it was wrong. I adjusted it to the correct time and time zone, logged back into iMessage and now it connects just fine.

Go to settings and check both face time and imessage. Make sure they are both turned on. Also, check restrictions in settings while you are there. Somethingnmay have gotten scrambledmduring the upgrade.

I have exactly the same problem using Safari on my iPad Air. On my Macbook Pro, Safari works okay and I haven't tried it on my iPhone 5. All the problems stem from the IOS8 update. I tried installing google Chrome for Mobiles on my iPad and it worked for a while, but it too is now destabilised.
I have reported it to Tech Support in Ireland and they ran a diagnostic test, but so far I haven't heard anything back. I also filed a bug report and suggest others should do the same. The more people who report this fault the quicker we should get a fix.

I started having this same problem as well.
Windows XP with Firefox browser
When I select a Netflix movie, it comes up as a blank screen.
Previously I had been using Firefox and Netflix for years without any problems.
I have uninstalled an reinstalled both Silverlight and Firefox several times and cannot get it to work.
Note: Chrome has the same problem!
The only browser I can use for Netflix right now on my XP system is IE.

Can I use iMessage/FaceTime without a serial number on my Mac?

I have a iMac that hade work done on it years ago. It no longer has a serial # in theabout this mac window. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion in part to use iMessage and especially FaceTime. I cannot get either program to work. I read online that these applications need to see your serial number to work. Someone said that the Apple store could do it, but I do not live anywhere neer an Apple store, or a store that works on Macs.
The computer was purchased directly from apple in 2007, it is not a stollen machine.
How can I figure out what my serial number is and get the applications to recognize it. If not can I activate iMessage and FaceTime?

There was a thread that contained so called "Hackintosh" users who also had difficulty.
There was a Post in this thread that suggested someone had posted a workaround on a "Hackintosh" site.
Although not clear what the "fix" was for these users several people in the Apple thread said that it worked.
This implies that there should be a fix.
It is also claimed that there are two apps "out there" that can help you to "write" to the place the Serial Number is installed on a one time only basis.
It suggests that there are broader "fixes" but that the Serial Number has to be there.

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.
Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
