Can´t use keyboard and trackpad at all.

I have a macbook pro early 2008.It was good for sometime but nowadays it is facing some problems in it.When I start it sometimes it works good but sometimes when I use it, suddenly the keyboard an trackpad stop working and I should connect an external mouse and restart it.Sometimes it is OK but sometimes it happens 10 times a day.Can anybody please help m with this situation this computer has a great value to me.

Run an Apple Hardware Test and see if that picks up any useful information, or take it to a repair facility for an evaluation.  Unfortunately intermittent problems are sometimes very difficult to diagnose.
Ciao.

  • 2011 MBP can't use keyboard or trackpad or external devices following installation of usb prober.

First, I was having trouble with a USB mouse, so I went looking for information about troubleshooting that.
Someone suggested installing USB Prober, which I found and attempted to install.
The installation asked for a restart, so I restarted.
At login screen, I can't use keyboard, mouse (trackpad), or any USB devices.
I'm able to use key combinations at the beginning of boot, so I reset PRAM and NVRAM or whatever they are.
I was able to use key combinations to boot into my Windows partition, and into single-user mode, and into safe mode, and verbose mode.
--Using the Windows partition appears to be useless for fixing the Mac problems, as far as I can see, since I can't modify the filesystem that way.
--In single-user and safe modes, I still can't use the keyboard or mouse.
    I found this discussion:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4021048?start=0&tstart=0
But that discussion reached no conclusion, and as I said, I tried that one user's suggestion already.
Super frustrated; please be charitable and save my sorry butt.
    regards,

No; no no; I don't need the developer forum--I'm not trying to use USB Prober. For all I care, I don't need the USB ports right now. Forget them and the stupid tool, and being unable to use the stupid tool.
I just want to be able to use the keyboard and trackpad, as I was able to before installing the stupid tool.
If you can, help me make everything the way it was before the developer tool. Without going to 781 forums in 36 languages and as many hours. My brain is puny and will implode.

flash player on the new mac sarafi can't use keyboard and event listener

Now after 5 weeks, you have always not resolved this very important and urgent issue. It seems that Adobe has realy abandonned the actionscript / flash player projects. Why not simply discontinue flash player on desktops too ? Or even better remove or block "automaticaly" all flash players with the final update. That could create a serious issue on the Internet for few weeks but at least that will be honorable end like a Samurai's Seppuku...

  • Can we use keyboard and mouse together with Ipad3

Actually i have ipad3. i want use it like a laptop. can u guide me that can we use the keyboard and mouse both together with Ipad..... kindly reply at the earliest....

An iPad doesn't support the use of a mouse. Is your keyboard Bluetooth - if it is then you should be able to pair to it via Settings > Bluetooth

How do I change the settings so that I can use them both at the same time? I use them both for all my games, but I can't turn with my mouse pad when im walking with my keyboard keys (W,A,S,D). Does anyone know how to change this?
    I'm on Windows 8 btw.
    Thanks,

There should be a setting for that in Mouse Properties, Evan. Something like "Disable touchpad while typing."
    Also, it's a "feature" of Windows 8.1.
Button clicks for internal touchpads and pointing sticks are not responsive while or shortly after t...
Windows 8.1 introduces a feature that is called accidental activation prevention (AAP). AAP helps ensure that unintended taps while you type on an integrated touchpad are suppressed. When this feature is enabled, taps and clicks from an integrated touchpad or pointing stick are suppressed for a while after the last keystroke..

  • G510 Can´t use keyboard and mouse at the same time

I got my y50-70 laptop four days ago for gaming and when i played portal for the first time i noticed I had a really hard time playing it. It wasn't until I was at Glados that I realized that it was because my laptop wouldn't recognize my finger movements while i was using the keys.
Ive been researching this for the past day and can't find the solution, and I believe its because my settings seem to be different? Ive looked at multiple solutions and everything says to turn palm checking off, but I dont have that option? I can turn it down, just not off (it does nothing btw). I was wondering if anyone else has found the solution to this problem yet and came here.
It would really help if you had pictures so I can figure out where to go in settings (a lot of the things Ive read has told me to go to a certain settings tab that I cant find??. Thank you so much btw!

Update: I clicked around and somehow disabled elan. My problem is solved but I no longer have two finger scrolling (my favorite feature). If you're looking for a solution to this problem and dont care about zooming, scroling, ect, what I think I did to disable it was rolled my driver for my mouse back. To get there just search for device manager, click on the one that says something about mouse, and go to the driver tab.
If you have another suggestion please suggest it!!! I can live without two finger scroll, but would like to have it :/

  • Can I pair my Mac with two wireless keyboards and trackpads?

I have a MacBook Pro.  I want to have external display (and wireless keyboard and trackpad) at all 3 places I work.  Is that possible?  I read that it's possible to have a wireless keyboard work with multiple devices, but I couldn't find if it works the other way.  thanks

I have two offices and I move my Mac between them.  I have paired both wiresless keyboards and when I show up at the other office it just pairs automatically.

  • Display, keyboard and trackpad

    I'd appreciate some help.
PB 15" Al. Been a solid performer. A few weeks ago seemed to go dead. All usual stuff failed. Screen off and unresponsive: could force it to shut down with 10 sec power button. Then start up with sound but no display. Tried restting PMU to no avail. Dealer decided logic board needed to be replaced, and just got it back after 4 wks and £500. Worked for a couple of days, now same problem.
Connected external display and USB mouse, to find all is well on the desktop: Everything seems fine except that display, keyboard and trackpad are all dead. System profiler tells me no display (except my external) is attached.
Any ideas (apart from returning to dealer!).
    PB G4 Al 15" 1.33 FW800   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
    PB G4 1.33 FW800   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

if the profiler isn't showing the hardware it might be an internal cabling/psu problem, but as you've just paid to have it fixed then you shouldn't be in this situation
for 500 quid i really think you should be having the conversation with the dealer that starts "please sort this out" and ends "or else"

  • Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

    @sanjampet
As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you,  the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.

  • After update, keyboard and trackpad does not work on MBA but wireless mouse works. I don't use a wireless keyboard. Stuck at login because need to enter pw. Anyone have this issue? Please help!

My Macbook Air (13", mid 2011) right after I did the Maverick OS update. My keyboard on Macbook Air is not working and it says "There isn't a keyboard connected" (Bluetooth Keyboard Setup). I do not use a wireless keyboard. Apparently my bluetooth works because my wireless mouse works. I am currently stuck at my login screen not being able to get in because I can't even enter my password. I am, however, able to login as guests and get to the Keyboard viewer to type things with my wireless mouse. I really need my keyboard to work to use for my job. I need help please!

I forgot to mention that my power button did work but everything else, keyboard and trackpad, didn't! Anyway, I shutdown my laptop, slept, and turned it back (in hopes that it might work instead of restarting it like before). Now my keyboard and trackpad works! Thank goodness! I was about to go to the Apple store upset too!

  • I was trying to get the iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5 but then it stopped and my phone is now on recovery mode I have pictures I need and they did not all fit on iCloud  how can I use the phone again with ALL my pictures and videos without restoring it?

I was trying to get the iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5 but then it stopped and my phone is now on recovery mode I have pictures I need and they did not all fit on iCloud  how can I use the phone again with ALL my pictures and videos without restoring it?

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

Try resetting your phone, hold the home and sleep/wake button down until the apple symbol comes up, then release. If that doesnt work, you may have damaged your phone and need to take it to an apple genius bar.

I have lost all of my previously created keynote templates now that I have upgraded to yosemite. How can I use Keynotes and pages etc on my computer and not on the cloud.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
All iWork apps allow you to save your documents on your computer. You will be able to choose the destination when you want to save a document.
You can also disable iCloud for some apps. To do that, go to System Preferences -> iCloud, press "Options" next to "iCloud Drive" and disable the apps you want to.
If you have lost your old documents, you should have a backup that you made before upgrading to OS X Yosemite, so you only have to restore it.

  • Keyboard and trackpad freeze and randomly become unresponsive

    I've got a MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011) running Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Since a few weeks ago at random intervals my keyboard and trackpad become permanently unresponsive. I don't recall any particular cause or change that would have caused this to start happening.
What happens is that the trackpad and keyboard will stop functioning completely. The computer, display etc. would continue to function properly:
    The clock keeps ticking.
If music were playing it would continue etc.
Internet connectivity (via an ethernet cable or WiFi) continues to work as well (a download will continue, and even resume if I disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable).
Presssing the power button will bring up the shutdown dialog as usual (but I can't use it, obviously, so a forced shutdown needs to be performed instead by holding down the power button longer).
.. but the keyboard and trackpad are rendered inoperable, as if they were no longer connected.
I've made no progress in finding out what could possibly be the cause of this. A few observations:
It has never happened while not using the keyboard (e.g. watch a DVD with TV series for a few hours, and afterwards the keyboard would always be fine).
It always happens while actively typing (e.g. while in the middle of replying to an e-mail).
It is not a temporary problem, the keyboard and trackpad will not become responsive again after some time (the computer isn't particulary occupied with calculating something big, no beachball and no busy mechanical noises).
It does not happen progessively. It works fine and snappy one second, and I'm touching a dead keyboard a split second later.
I tried connecting a USB keyboard but that doesn't seem to work either (I'm mentioning this since some of the linked threads below close with that as a solution).
Possibly related (although I haven't found anything in these threads):
Keyboard causes trackpad to not function properly
    Keyboard and trackpack freeze
    Keyboard and Trackpad Unresponsive
MacBook Pro Keyboard & TrackPad freeze! Totally Unresponsive!
MacBook Pro inbuilt Keyboard and Trackpad freeze when not connected to bluetooth devices?
I've crawled through some log files in /var/log (via the shell and through Console.app) and found a couple things that may be relevant, although they seem unrelated. Etiher way, I was surprised by what I found. All sorts of errors with regards to Bluetooth and USB stuff. I'm not aware of using either. I haven't used bluetooth in years and though I sometimes charge an iPod by USB, I haven't had any problems with that, and this keyboard/trackpad freeze has also happened on sessions where I started the laptop and never even touch the USB ports in the time leading up to the freeze.
