Can't use quicktime, no rights.I have I

I have just discovered when i was going to install safari, just to try it, i get a Windows Installer can't be open error. And that happen to all apple software. And quicktime IS installed, BUT i don't have any rights to it, AND i can't UNINSTALL IT! Because, that i don't have any single rights. Vista ***** and i am going to change to Windows 7 when it comes.
And i am changing rights on every file, >.< so i can uninstall.

Firefox, I would make sure you update your Desktop to Firefox 14.0.1, as the version you are running is quite old and out of date.
Then, do you have your Sync Recovery key, username and password? If you do, you can re-add Firefox Sync to your computer.

Make sure the iPad fully synced back up to your computer after the installation. The apps were removed as part of installing 5.0, and should be restored back to it as you finish. Connect the iPad to your computer that you backed up to, and sync it again. If they don't come back, go to the Apps page (click on your iPad under Devices, then Apps) and click the ones you want to sync. You could also restore to the backup you made right before the update.

You can write a custom SQL query and map it to an object as needed. You can also use the Toplink query language "anyOf" or "get" commands to map two tables as long as you map them as one to one (get command) or one to many (anyOf command) in the toplink mapping workbench.

You need Mountain Lion (not Lion) to use mirror and your Mac has to be mid 2011 (early 2011 for MacBook Pro) too. If you don't have this then a third party app called airparrot may help you.
To air play (not mirror) from iTunes make sure Home Sharing is turned on, that the device or mac is on the same apple id as the Apple TV and on the same network. Look for an icon like a TV with a triangle in it, that is the air play icon. This may help http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4437

Can't update quicktime or java I have snow leopard

I have a mac mini intel box with snow leopard (used to be leopard). I recently changed from opera to firefox and the plug in checker is complaining about having a outdated version of quicktime and java. I did software update and it says no new software available. I have quicktime 7.5 I guess-whatever came with the lion os update cd disc. Going to sun for java I find they don't support anything older than lion. Must I now buy lion just to stay secure ?. I can't afford a new mac. And don't want to have to rebuy all my programmes again and lose my files. Maybe lion will let me keep my programmes and files like snow leopard did.
Is the plug in checker just being incorrect? I disabled java for the time being. But I can't remove quicktime. I use it a lot. I have a intel core 2 duo processor and 1.5 gig of ram. I guess I could up it to 4 gig if I had to "upgrade" os yet again. There's nothing that really interests me in Lion or Mavericks but I don't want security issues--I'll just try to disable the silly gingerbread in the new os's if possible. I don't use social media, or stream to a tv or media box. And I'm to poor to own a smart phone or ipod or ipad. My computer is my tv. I don't want my internet connection to slow down due to stuff I never use connecting to the internet in the background.

I have a program for school to run and I need quick time, just wondering if the iPad is even able to download/use QuickTime.. I'm away from home and cannot get to my iMac:(

The likelyhood of the program that requires quicktime actually running on the iPad is pretty slim, unless the developers have a specific iPad App. In which case you would not need Quicktime as all should be contained within the App.
If you need a program that can run on a computer, then the iPad is not the solution.

start, when I develop the application, which files exist?

No you can't. You can't have player within a player.

You can open a folder and look for file but you can't search
user drive and get list
of it. Only File - Open - Browse, that type of dialog.

do you know of any software that would record a QT movie playing on my Mac screen with both audio and video?
I have used Ambrosia's Snapz Pro X ($69) for years, but they are currently upgrading their Kext (Kernel Extension) software for changes inroduced by the Lion release so it might not be your best bet at this time. I also use ScreenFlow but it is a combination capture and editing utility which runs $99 and may include more features than you may need or will use. Have also tried Screenflick ($29) which, to some extent, appears to have a functionality somewhere between that of Snapz Pro X and ScreenFlow. It is a bit more complicated to set up but for the price might be the best bargin at this point. All three can capture the entire screen or a portion thereof, with or without mic/line and/or system audio. (Or at least they all will as soon as Ambrosia updates its Kext routine.)

Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on computers and portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature. Walmart/Vudu also has a service that basically gives you a digital copy of a DVD you already own. See:

Can I use quicktime to watch windows media streaming with authentication?

I everyone. I am running into a problem here. I have a Mac Book Pro and would like to watch some windows media streams. Until last month I was using Quicktime to watch them because they were not protected. But beginning on this month they implemented a security access where we need to put login and password in order to watch the stream.
If I try to acess that mms using Windows Media Player or Real Player on Windows, it opens a pop up asking for my username and password. However on my Mac Book Pro I can't get to this authentication screen using any player.
I have tried Quicktime, but also tried VLC, Real Player and Windows Media Player 9 for Mac. None of these play the mms since they started using the authentication scheme.
Can anyone help? Can I somehow authenticate to the sever and watch the mms on my Mac Book Pro? (I know I can use a Virtual Machine and watch this on Windows, but I would prefer to not depending on Windows)

Sorry, I should have clarified that. MMS is the stream protocol used by Microsoft Media Services (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicrosoftMediaServices) .
I know Quicktime could run it if I have Flip4Mac installed, that's why I could watch those streams until last month. The problem started after then applied authentication to those streams. Now when I go to Quicktime, select "Open URL" option, and add the stream mms address (mms://link), it just doesn't do anything. It is something with the authentication because when there was no authentication it just worked perfectly.
Is there any way to make Quicktime authenticate to a Windows Media Server?
