Can't use special character "option+5" on german keyboard
After upgrading to Lion I have problems to select special characters on a german keyboard. Typing in TextEdit "Option+5" does not display "[".
Nothing happens. I always have to use PopChar to insert the "[" character.
I already checked out all of the preference settings for the keyboard, layouts, international formats, ...
Also I deleted the keyboard .plist file in the Lib-folder.
All other special characters work fine without any problems, only the "option + 3, +4, +5, +6" does not show any character in the keyboard layout.

Thanks for your answer, but I already checked this. I completely disabled all speak recognition.
Not only one key doesn't work, but four in a line "option + 3, +4, +5, +6".

I'm trying to connect to a wireless network, whose password contains the character "ç". For some reason airport won't let me input that character, but all others are fine. I've tried edit => insert special character, I've tried to copy / paste but nothing works. Does anyone have a solution??

On a Mac OS X version 10.4.11 and itunes 9.1.1. Can't update to itunes 10.6, Mac too old. Trying to get a previously purchased song. Can't use the purchased option under quick link - nothing shows up and won't let me purchase an already purchased song. What can I do?
If possible you need to upgrade OS X. However, what you can upgrade to is dependent on what your Mac hardware and configuration is which you have not provided in your profile.

There are two types of sustain pedal... One's with + polarity and ones with - polarity
The sustain pedal you are using, has the oppostie polarity from the standard.. which means when you press it it acts as if it is not pressed and vice versa...
Unfortunately, unlike a lot of keyboards... the Launchkey doesn't provide a setting that allows you to correct this issue... which means that unless the pedal you are using has a built in polarity switch...(In which case power down your keyboard, unplug the pedal and select the opposite setting to what is set now and then plug it back in and power up your keyboard) your sustain pedal is the wrong type and is not compatible with the Launchkey....
Failing that, here is an example of a sustain pedal that has a polarity switch so you can use it with any keyboard....

[OIM] Cannot use special character in User Group Name
Dear IdM expert,
I have problem creating user group in OIM if user group name contain special character like '&', '<' or '+'.
I read Note 430081.1 : Can a Field Label in an Object Form Contain Special Characters? and change <AppFirewall><SecurityLevel> in xlconfig.xml to 0, (by default SecurityLevel is set to 1). But still no luck.
Could anyone find way to do this? Thank you.

SatitI don't think the app fire wall applies to recon events so that is probably how they got in.
You may have to update the database tables directly to solve this. Should not be a big issue as you aren't messing with any table primary keys.

Can I Use Wifey Upgrade Option to Get New iPhone Subsidized?
I'm not eligible until 12-29, but my wife's Blackberry 8800 is eligible now. She can't use either iPhone because of her job, so I just want to use her eligibility to get a subsidized iPhone 3G S and activate with my phone number which is now active on my 3G.
Can I just use her account to order the phone through Apple, then . . . what? Any pitfalls here or is this very doable and AT&T doesn't really care so long as they get her under a new contract and my contract continues?
Would I be better off waiting and doing this in person at my local AT&T store?

I had another question about this process. I just spoke with an AT&T rep on the phone about this process about a concern I had, namely that on the day the phone ships from either AT&T or Apple she said that they "update the sim card" on "her" new phone (the iPhone 3G S that we will transition to my account) and so I have a concern about this purchase interfering with the use of her current phone, a Blackberry 8800 which she uses heavily for business, day and night.
If her email, texting or phone ability got disrupted at an inconvenient time it could be disastrous for her day. So I'm wondering the best method to do this, shall I:
1. Order online on the AT&T website using her account to have it delivered here, then call in to transition the phone to my account.
2. Order online on the AT&T website using her account to have it delivered here, then take it in to a store in person to do the switch.
3. Go in to a store to pre-order the phone and pick it up at the store when it arrives to do the switch.
4. Wait for the rush to die down then go in and pick up an in-stock phone and do the whole thing at the same time, avoiding the pre-order concerns.
My concern is to not cause her any glitches in her phone service which she would hate and could cause real problems on a given day. BTW, for some reason I haven't been able to get an order to go through on the Apple website using her account information.

I plan to purchase a Mac mini and then a new iPad. Can I use the iPad as a keyboard and screen for the Mac mini, using either the USB connector or Wi-Fi?
I'm sorry, I should have said thru Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. I want to use the mini as a base station and the iPad like a laptop that I can sync when I'm home and carry with me when I travel. Is is possible to hook these 2 up - iPad/mini, through Bluetooth? I understand I need to use a regular monitor/keyboard/mouse on the initial install.

And again when you upgrade to 10.0.6, additional content is downloaded.
