Can't use svideo as tv out.......

Hi guys, this is my 2nd question in this forum.
I have a problem using svideo as a connection to my samsung crt tv. I'm using my old dell svideo to composite cable and a yellow rca cable to connect my pb g4 to my tv. Unfortunately, after I connected the cable, and hit detect display, there is nothing happen. I have try command+F2 and F7 to no avail. I have try to shut down my mac and restart again but still no effect. Finally I try to use reset-all in startup using command-option-o-f, and nothing happened.
Please let me know if there is something that I haven't done yet.....
I'm a newbie in mac, so it's possible that I miss some simple step.
Any help will be appreciate......

Hi, here is a partial slice of my PB G4 550 manual, and part my advice: Usually I just mess around until something pops up, and that has never failed me, but you seem to have tried a lot of options. Here goes:
-switch off the TV set with PB started up.//-Plug in the cable to the TV//- Switch on the TV//- Push Command+F2, external device should be recognised.//- Open System Preferences>Displays, uncheck
the Mirrored Display box so as to get an extended desktop, and in the window that is not called colour LCD, choose a resolution. You should get some kind of dektop, but in order to see a DVD image in it, you need to drag the window onto that extended desktop.Whether that be up, down, right or left depends on your choice within the "arrange" window. Same window also serves for dragging your menubar to the TV if you so wish. No need to restart after applying changes.
Apps like Keynote and Quicktime Pro have very neat presentation modes which will give you a very clean fullscreen videoscreen on the extended desktop, whereas DVD Player will leave you with at least the controls on your TV.
Of course, do not forget to manually select the external input into which the PB is fed on your TV, since only SCART will autoselect your source.
If this does not work, I will try and duplicate your setup whenever I find the time and if I can, given my hardware. Please let me know which PB and OS exactly you are running in that case.

Can i use keypad without cutting out speaker?

When I need to use the keypad to input numbers while I'm in a call, the speaker cuts out. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the sound to return, so I lose the answer, usually from an automated system. Other iPhone users say this should not happen. Any way I can fix this, or is the phone broken?

Hi, If this is possible, this would help me a TON.
I am using Flash CS4 professional
I will explain the issue. I have made a tree with a tree trunk and on top of the trunk I have made steps. I am making a Flash Game and you have to go up this steps to continue on the level, while being able to collide with the parts of the tree that aren't the steps. To do this, I would have to cut out the parts on the trunk that are the steps. I have already made the steps. It would take a long time to remake them when the trunk is isolated as a selection and delete the part. If there is a way to just put the already made steps on the bit map and then use it as some kind of cookie cutter-like thing, it would be VERY useful for many things. If something like this exists, or if there is any way to do something like this, PLEASE TELL ME !

Can I use the iPhone 5 out of the box as a wifi device?

Can I buy an Unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple when it is released and use it out of the box as a wifi device without needing unlock codes and sim cards? I do not plan on getting phone service right away and would like for the device to be functional (basically like a real expensive iPod) until i'm ready to get service.

Meg is correct, unless you activate it using a microSIM if it is a GSM phone (and starting service with a CDMA phone) you will not be able to do anything with your new phone except call 911.
Why not just wait and buy it when you can afford service?

You can use old iPhone as iPod, but first you need SIM card to activate it.
Insert a SIM card into the phone and connect it your computer with iTunes open and follow the activation assistant to activate the iPhone. Once the iPhone have been activated, remove the SIM card.

I just bought an Express to use with a neighbor. They have a desk top PC and a DSL modem. If we plug the modem into the extreme, can I just plug his PC into the LAN Port without having to configure it to the Extreme (we don't want to create a linked network, we just need the signal to pass through like a router)? You mention Express and Extreme. I'm going to assume that you are connecting the PC to the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS).
Yes you can plug the PC into the AEBS's LAN port. The PC will be configured to use Ethernet and DHCP to get an IP address. The PC doesn't won't even know that the AEBS exists.
