Can't use widgets in Dashboard interface

So yesterday I installed iStat and i can't put it on the "dashboard surface" the darkened background, When I click the + button after I openend dashboard I can see all my widgets. But when I try to drag and drop iStat it just disappears and dashboard quits. Any solution ???
OS Version is 10.6.7

On mine all I need to do to get an installed widget to display is to click it once (I don't need to drag it) in the bottom display after clicking the "+" button to show them.
Try this - with the "+" button clicked and the widgets displayed along the bottom, click the new item "Manage Widgets..." that appears alongside the "+" button. In the new window, scroll to the iStat widget - make sure it has been checkmarked.

1.You may have 2 applets and 2 html files. One applet with one html file may stay at a client PC and run on this PC, and the other applet with the other html file may stay at a server PC and run on this PC. In this case, all the applets are run locally.
2.Could applets works with sockets, RMI and J2EE?

The scenario you paint doesn't quite make sense. The "server PC" wouldn't be running an applet, normally, since applets are by definition in a web browser page, and most likely involve user interaction, and "server processes" generally are done without user interaction.
The security rules around applets are that -- by default -- applets can connect with sockets ONLY to the server from whence the applet was loaded. RMI uses sockets (J2EE is too broad a spec) and hence RMI calls would also be limited to the server from whence the applet was loaded. Within that limitation, an applet could open all the sockets it wants, so long as they are all on the server from whence the applet was loaded.
If you want two applets on two different systems to communicate with each other, the simplest way is to have them rendevous through a server process on the server(s) from whence each applet was loaded. Maybe it's PC-a <-> server-a <-> server-b <-> PC-b ...? Or maybe PC-a and PC-b both are talking to the same server.
The limitation is rooted in the security subsystem. You can specify a policy file and override anything in the security subsystem. That does mean signing the applet and then cajoling the user into agreeing to grant greater levels of security than the default. In such a case you can open sockets more broadly and then PC-a could talk directly to PC-b without going through any servers.

Afraid not - AppleTV does not support USB audio devices.
I assume you don't mean using the device as an optical input for the computer, connecting AppleTV's optical out to it.

I know there is a way, and I've noticed TinkerTool can do it, but how to proceed ?
I think I should ask them directly, but I didn't for the moment,
and I'd rather prefer to proceed with an Apple solution
than with a third party software.

Can I use the Command Line Interface on Unix?

Hi,
We use 9iAS on Unix. We want to use Discoverer Command Line Interface on unix to export the worksheet query result. Can anyone know how to do this? I couldn't find out the command similar to dis5usr.exe for windows version.

You can use the Discoverer EUL Command Line for Java utility. This was released with Discoverer 10g (9.0.4).

ACS 5 Appliance - Can I use EtherChannel or Standby Interfaces?

I think the answer's no, but if I want to make my ACS appliance (not the VM version) more resilant, can I use more than one NIC to connect it to a switch stack?

I wish there was support but the answer is no, the ACS does not support redundant configurations or a standby nic for this type of event. You should file a feature enhancement request with your Account rep to see if this can be released in future releases.

You should be able to no problem . I might be speaking to fast .. Now you didn't say what your weapon of choice was. An iMac or what. I use a MOTU 128. With an iMac.
As I remember you install the software for you MOTU unit. Then go check for the newest driver and install it.
Now for G.B... look in the preferences for GB .. Look at the Audio/ Midi settings. There you can select the unit you want.

Can I use a Protools HD interface as core audio for Logic 9?

I am moving to a studio that already has Protools HD running on Mountain Lion.
I don't especially like PT, so my question is... can I just use the PT HD hardware already there and run Logic and my AU plugs without using TDM?
And if I do, how would it compare to the RME Fireface 800 I am currently using?
Or would I be better off taking the RME and switching between the units depending on who was driving in the studio?

Yes, higher latency...
Avid/Digidesign never put a lot of effort into their core audio drivers because they would rather have you purchase their hardware which uses proprietary drivers.
There is an I/O limit but from the looks of it you won't be coming close.
Offhand I'd say you will be missing the RME hardware but it may work for you.
Keep us posted as to how it's going.

Can I use a bluetooth usb interface to get wifi?

I have a 2001 G-4 Quicksilver. The Apple store told me they don't sell the old airport card anymore and I should hunt on-line--they now only sell the Airport extreme which I take is not compatible. The guy at the apple store said another option was to get a usb bluetooth adapter/ antenna. I talked to the Mac IT guy at work who said that should work in theory but might be slow b/c of usb. Should I stick with tracking down an airport card from an "antique" computer dealer? Am I misinformed? Pros and Cons? thank you -chris

Bluetooth networks are inherently insecure, slow and difficult to build by comparison to WiFi networks. And, for what it's worth, adding Bluetooth via USB would not 'slow down' data transmission - USB is faster than Bluetooth.

I incidently pasted a page that requires a password to my dashboard, now my dashboard automatically sends me to the internet and I can't use dashboard anymore.

How can I delete the page in dashboard if I it will not stay open? I can't use anything in dashboard becasue it keeps closing and opening the login page from the internet. I have tried logging in to the site that the page came from but that doesn't work/help.

One of the main ways that you can integrate some Business Objects content with WDA is via FlashIslands. If you are on 7.01 or higher, you have the option to use FlashIslands UI element. There are many tutorials on FlashIslands available on SDN. FlashIslands work well with Xcelsius content, since the output of Xcelsius is a Flex component. It is pretty easy to set the Xcelsius interface to External Connection and then write a wrapper Flex Component around the generated output, so that it can be used in the FlashIslands interface.
For Crystal Reports integration you will need NetWeaver 7.02 (comming early next year). We have integrated Crystal Reports as an output option in the Web Dynpro ABAP ALV and the Classic Dynpro ALV. You don't need to do any development to enable this. You can use two different SAP delivered Crystal Reports templates for the ALV output, or create and add your own templates.
Some of ther BOBJ integration is still in prototype and demo phase within SAP. For instance we have a data interface to send data to Explorer onDemand from any ABAP application. We have a prototype FlashIsland for WebI to run in place within Web Dynpro ABAP. Over future enhancement packages you will see increased integration opportunties with the BOBJ capabilites.

Hi,
There are two ways to achieve this depending on how you want to refersh the web interface:
1. Anytime during the execution of web interface:
    a. Create a Z function module and insert a call to API_SEMBPS_REFRESH there.
    b. Then create a planning function exit and in Function Module field call your Z function module.
    c. Create a button in Web Interface and call the planning function exit on that button.
    This will call the refresh function whenever user will click on that button.
2. At the load of Web interface:
   a. Create a Z class in SE24 by copying the class CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL as super class.(This
       class is default application class for all web interfaces).
   b. Redfine LOAD method of your custom class and add call to FM API_SEMBPS_REFRESH.
   c. In your web interface, set the property 'Application Class' to your custom application class.
   This will call the refresh function every time you start the web interface.
If you will add your code in auto generated BSP application for your Web interface you have to re-write the logic in BSP application everytime you make change in your web interface and generates it in Web Interface builder. Because the system overwrites the BSP application everytime the Web interface is generated.

Can't use dashboard. It launches my browser. Very strange.

Whenever I open Dashboard it starts up and after about a 1 second pause, it launches my browser. I can't use it or the widgets at all as I'm back in the desktop in my browser after 1 second. If I keep hitting F12 it will send me back to the desktop, opening a new browser window, as fast as I can hit it. It is the strangest thing I've ever seen and I wonder if it is something my daughter did when I wasn't looking.

1. Hot Corners you define for Dashboard or Exposé are saved in your Dock Preferences, i.e. the file com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder.
Note:You will need to reconfigure your Dock after performing this procedure as it will reset the Dock to its default configuration. If you want a record your Dock setup before undertaking this procedure, take a screen shot of your Dock.
1.1. Trash the Dock preferences: com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. This file contains the settings for your Dock and any Hot Corners you defined for Dashboard or Exposé.
1.2. If you altered the keyboard shortcuts for Dashboard or Exposé in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé, the changes are saved in the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist file in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. Trash that file as well.
1.3. After trashing these files, either log out, then log in, to your account or restart your Mac.
1.4. Empty the Trash.
1.5. Reconfigure your Dock and any customization you performed in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé for hot corners and keyboard shortcuts.
Note: If you are running any Dock "hacks" or "add ons" you might want to disable or delete these as these can contribute to Dock problems.2. Given the other issues you described As a general check, run the Procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.

Yes ! You Can!
while creating the dashboard prompt, under "Show" pick SQL results and you write the SQL statement and include the EVALUATE function.
I have several such examples. Most of of dashboard pages are parameter driven.
1. 1st paratmeter - users specify the dates
2. 2nd parameter - constrains the results for the period specified in 1st paramter and my SQL for 2nd paramter looks like this -

FROM table, datedim1, table1,table2
WHERE datedim1.date BETWEEN EVALUATE( 'TO_DATE(%1,%2)','@{presentation variable1}','dd/mm/yyyy') AND EVALUATE('TO_DATE(%1,%2)', '@{presentation variable 2}','dd/mm/yyyy')
