Can't video/audio with some persons

Since i update to Leopard i have an unexplained problem. This is the situation:
Me (Macbook 10.5) - Sister (Macbook 10.4) : we can audio and video chat
Dad (iMac G5 10.4) - Sister (Macbook 10.4): they can audio and video chat
Me - Dad : we can't audio and video chat, but we can text chat
If my sister begins a 3-way video chat: it works!!!!!!
All of us have a wifi router.
I checked everything (ports, internet sharing....).... although as with my sister there are no problems i suspect that wouldn't be the solution...
What do you thing? Any ideas?

It can be about ports or about speed as first choices.
If one is on Leopard first Video port is 16402 and all data (vid in, Vid out, Audio in Audio out) is on this port.
If unsuccessful it moves DOWN one port. (for 10 ports)
iChat 3 uses 4 ports in 1-1 vids and starts at 16384 (-16387) and moves UP. (to a potential of 20 ports 4 at a time.
In some cases with the iChat 3 person doing Port Forwarding and having a limited table to do so there is a gap.
However a third party may be able to connect to them (Host in Multichat) and then re-display their Video.

Can't Video Chat with one person

Well i've been scanning this forum, and many others all day, trying to get Video and audio on ichat to work. Both me and my girlfriend have new macbooks, (mine is just over 6 months old, her's is 3 days old) we both have dlink routers mine is quite old its a DI-524 and i've configured all the ports using the guide on the dlink website (http://support.dlink.ca/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1333&question=ichat) and i've downloaded the latest firmware. Her router is brand new. We've both tried the apple testing servers on ichat, and can start a video chat with all 3, but can't have one with each other, we just get an error 8. I just would like to know what is stopping us from doing it with each other, but allowing us to use the testing servers, and if there's anything i can do.
(my streaming speed on quicktime has been set, and the speed on ichat is unlimited)
If you'd like the error report i can post it if u ask.

Why does my ichat say I can only video chat with one person?

Ichat video works with some people and not others

Can someone help me? I can video Ichat with some people and not others. HOwever, if the people I can video ichat with put me in a three way chat with someone I can't Icaht video with, it works. Here is the first half of the error I get when I try to call someone with whom it doesn't work:

I found the following comment the other day that goes some way to explaining why iChat might have problems with some NAT routers:

While it doesn't offer any solutions it might be worth firing off some iChat feedback to Apple referencing it. It seems like it might be a trivial bug for Apple to fix and could well alleviate many of the problems people are having.
In the mean time if your router is one that has SIP ALG you could try disabling it and forwarding all relevant ports to your machine.

Can i video chat with someone on a windows pc using yahoo messenger?

hi, i am considering buying a macbook laptop and would like to know before i purchase, can i video chat with someone using a windows pc with vista os on it if we are both using yahoo messenger? if so please tell me how to set that up correctly b/c the tech support site hasnt been helpful. Also, can i plug my Logitech QuickIM or ExpressIM webcam into the usb port and the macbook pick it up and allow me to use it with yahoo messenger to video chat with? can i still use the headphone earbud that came with the webcamera also if i plug it into the headphone jack on the macbook? if so how do you do that? i know that macbook has a built in webcamera, but i like to turn the camera instead of having to turn the computer all the time to show different parts of areas, etc. in my house, etc. please help me so i will know whether or not to purchase it or not. and also, can i use microsoft outlook to check my email with on a macbook, or what email program would i need to use?

regarding video, yes you can do a video chat with another pc user. the pc side has to right click your name and find the "view video" (using yahoo mesenger and built in cam)
have not use audio though so i can not assure you that it would work. (but most probably it would)
as to using external cam and mic, you can try to borrow someone else cam or go to a mac store and ask for a demo
as to microsoft outlook... there is no mac version of microsoft outlook as far as i know. (correct me if im wrong) how ever you can use bootcamp and have windows installed and use your mac as if your using windows

who can you video chat with? is it only for other users of a mac computer? .. or can anyone with a webcam have chats with you via iChat AV? Someone please explain how you add people into a video chat. Thanks, its much appreciated,

If there is a camera displayed next to your friend in the contact list you can invite your friend by clicking on that camera icon. You need to use iChat for video chats with more than one friend the same time. (friends using iChat can invite you to a multi person video chat and add others if the iChat user initiates the video chat)
Windows users need AIM 6, the iChat application only runs on Mac OSX.

What does syncing have to do with the problem?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I have Messages on OS X 10.8 but my friend has iChat still so i made an AIM account to chat with her. This worked. But now i can't video chat with her. We can both send invites to video chat but the other person cannot accept/see them. All that happens is the camera turns on...

All the Google IDs I know that work are in the form of [email protected] of [email protected]
Both these types are Google Mail IDs
I know of other names that look like [email protected] bit these are not Mail Accounts and do not work with the Google Talk servers (talk.google.com as seen in iChat Preferences > Accounts > Server settings for a gmail account name)
A random set of character sand numbers and that ending sound more like a Google Chat room rather than his ID.

Can't video chat with AIM only .mac users like me.

I'm running the latest iChat AV.
There seems to be alot of posts regarding people being unable to chat with .mac and only AIm but my problem is exactly the opposite. I can only video chat with other .mac users and not with AIM users. (I am .mac).
Nothing here involves a PC, all accounts are on macs. Any .mac friends I try and video chat to it works great, but any mac AIM users all I kept getting are 'failed to respond' messages. I failed to respond or they did depending on who initiated the video chat. All type chatting works fine. I have no firewalls and plenty of bandwith. To the best of my knowledge the AIM users have no firewalls either. Any ideas?

Hi Rodi,
There has been one report of a .mac user contacting .mac because of this problem. He said he was informed that they were aware of the problem exsiting for some users but that they could not tell which ones.
They did something to his account that made it work (some problem with the .mac user list and the AIM Servers)
I suggest you explore this as well.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPad.

Can you synch audio with already edited footage?

I've been given a half edited project to finish off in Premier Pro, but the problem is there are quite a lot of pieces of footage that have not been synched up to their separate recorded sound! I am very new to Premier (was on FCP and Avid) but I am wondering if there is any way you can synch separate audio with already edited footage on the timeline? If not, it means I will pretty much have to scrap all the work that has been done and I REALLY don't want to do that because it's a lot!
Any help is really appreciated!!

You can't.
It's not that big a deal, you're going to get the same result applying compression (or any other effect) after the fact.

Can a video created with Adobe Premiere Elements 13 be converted to run (and be edited, etc.) on Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
I have several hours invested in a video creation that I made with Premiere Elements 13, but now 13 is refusing to work properly (space bar and play button do not move the time line indicator forward). Hopefully, I will get the problem solved, but in the meantime I must get this project completed and don't have time to start over. So, I need to convert the work so that it can be completed with Premiere 11 which seems to work fine.

Is this an outdated thread? I thought that you had resolved the play button/space bar issue.
Classically, you cannot open a project created in a later version in an earlier version. If you try, you get hit with "The project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened." messaged. There was one rare and little known occasion when that was not the case. It involved Premiere Elements 10. So, that is not going to help us any here.
If you still have the play button/space bar issue, can you get out of the 13 project by exporting it to file which you can import into a new Premiere Elements 11 project? If need be, I can suggest the details of that if you tell me the project setting for the 13 project.
Please let us know the situation at this time.
