Can't view footage

We captured some test footage in HD 1080 @ 24p/sf at 8bit YUV. We can hear the audio in CS3, but can't see the video in the Source Monitor. We can view our footage in the Quicktime player, just not in our editor.
Our video card is the ATI Radeon X800 SE. Not sure if that is the problem.
Any thoughts on how to figure out what our problem is?

Beyond my skill set. I suggest dropping by the Creative Cow's XENA forum. Even when I get my AJA Xena LHe installed, I will be using Prospect HD and not the AJA drivers.

So it is cutting off the end at 59 minutes? How large is the file that is being exported? You may be running up against a file size limitation.

Final Cut and QT can't view/edit PAL HD footage recieved from Germany...

Final Cut and QT can't view/edit PAL HD footage I recieved from Germany - I spoke to filmer and he told me that it is HDV 1080i50.
I downloaded program VLC and was able to view the footage through there.
When I import it into FCP, it ether shows a black screen or crashes immediately - in QT, it only shows a white screen.
I have downloaded the QT plugin for MPEG movies.
PLEASE HELP!!!

If it's MPEG-2, chances are its a muxed file. You should be able to use MPEG Streamclip to demux and convert the file into whatever format matches your FCP Sequence specs.
But 1440 x 81? That doesn't sound right at all.

Can't View on NTSC Monitor

For some reason, I cannot view sequences on my NTSC monitor. When I go to log and capture, it does play back and I can see it on the computer, but whenever I go to "External Video," it is selected to off and even if I change it to "All Frames," it stays on off. Thank you!

Shane's Stock Answer #8: External Monitor Viewing
If you are working with DV, this is simple. First connect your computer to a camera or deck via firewire, Then connect the camera/deck to your TV/Monitor via RCA or S-Video.
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Go to the View Menu, choose > External video > all frames
VIEW>Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
VIEW>Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section.
If you are working with HDV footage, FCP 6 allows you to view this via firewire, but ONLY as downconverted DV. It won't look the best, but you can see it. To do this,
If you need to view any format other than DV at full resolution, then you need to look into capture cards. Several standard definition and high definition models are available from www.aja.com and www.decklink.com. With these options you'll need a proper monitor to view full broadcast colors, but all models allow for realtime standard definition downconvert, allowing you to view HD on an SD monitor.

Viewing footage on desktop and external monitor at same time

Maybe i'm missing something, but is there any way to view footage simultaneously on your desktop monitor and your external broadcast monitor (via blackmagic output)?
Right now when I enable mercury transmit, the viewer within speedgrade goes to grey and I can only see the footage on the external monitor. This makes it impossible to draw custom shapes around objects (rather than just use the stock circle masks) which I use quite a bit...I would like to have the view on both monitors like I have in resolve.
If this isn't possible, is there a quick shortcut to toggle mercury transmit on and off without having to go into the settings menu?
Any help would be appreciated...I am enjoying a lot of the controls that are in speedgrade but there are some workflow hurdles that I need to get over in order to be able to use effectively in client sessions from time to time.

I waited expectantly and patiently for Adobe to enable Mercury Transmit in SG and to be able to make use of my BM card and external monitor.
O.K we got it in CC2014.1...but it is either Mercury Transmit or Dual Display!
I think this half-arsed solution is an absolute fail that we cant use desktop and an external monitor simultaneously.
Has anyone on the SG team actually been in a real world CC and Grade Suite?
At least we got consistency with the blue color scheme if not how Mercury Transmit works across the suite of apps.

I can't view video on my imported clips on FCPX, it shows blue instead of image on the clip. I can hear sound but no video. What is the problem. I wish someone can help me on this issue? Thanks.

The camera is Sony Handycam HDR-CX550. I used the internal hard disc to record. I can's use MTS clips if it is recorded on the internal hard disc. I converted clips into MOV, MP4, and Final Cut formats, non of them worked on Final Cut Pro X. I tried to import the same clips on iMovie, it worked but super slow. MOV and MP4 formats used to work for FCPX, the only difference is I recorded the footage with HD 1920x1080.
The clip I imported showed as a blue thing with two rectagle shapes on it. I can hear the sound, but no video. I also imported my old clips with sam format, it worked. I tried a lot of things, no use.
By the way, what is spwecs?

Problem viewing footage

I'm having trouble working with imported footage in Final Cut Pro 5.1.4. The clip just shows a white screen and the audio is there. How can I view and work with the footage? Someone told me before that I could get a decoder from Calibrated Software. I went to the site and saw something that required me NOT to have Final Cut installed and there was also something that required Final Cut Studio 2 to be installed, but I need a decoder that will work with just regular Final Cut Studio. Could someone direct me to exactly what I need to view the footage? I need majorly specific help on this! Thank you so much!

Well, there's the problem. You cannot EDIT XDCAM EX with FCP 5.1...for a few reasons.
1) a decoder would allow you to view the footage, but you couldn't RENDER it. You don't have that codec to render to...so it wouldn't work.
2) FCP 6 has the encoder for this, so rendering to that is easy. But it also has the ProRes codecs that allow you to render XDCAM EX to ProRes. FCP 5.1 lacks that codec, so you can't render to it. Nor does it have an option of another codec to render to. Why?
3) XDCAM EX came out AFTER...many years after...FCP 5.1 was introduced. Support for that camera is not in the code of the software...and when that camera came out, Apple did fix the CURRENT version of their software, FCP 6, to work with it. That was part of the .02 update...so you need FCP 6.0.2 at least to be able to work with that format.
The decoder is for others to be able to view the files...and maybe import them into their NLE or compositor and work with the footage...but then they need to export as another codec. Because FCP does things like wanting to render when you add an effect or transition, yet doesn't have a setting as to what to render to, Calibrated's doesn't support using their decoder with FCP. They don't have an encoder...only a decoder.
You can try...but I don't know what the ill effects will be. I'd advise against it...and suggest that if you must edit that format, you need to buy FCS2. But you will have to look for a used copy or a new copy on eBay or something...because Apple is selling FCS 3...and that version only works on Intels.

Hi Balaji,
Yes. Your are right that teh multi-provider does not store any data. It is like a view that displays the data from various data targets using union. LISTCUBE displays the data using those unions and displays the data. It is not fetching data from any underlying table of the Multi-provider. Probably if you debug then you would find the various SQL statements fetching data from the other data targets using the join conditions.
LISTCUBE is just meant for displaying the data from an Info-provider in the backend.
If you are familiar with R/3 then you would have noticed that you can see the data in table or view in SE11/SE16 even though a table has data where as a View does not. It is something similar to that.

This is my first go at this so be kind,
My question concerns launchpad. Coming from Snow Leopard I had been using spaces. I like to keep certain bundles of programs on separate desktops, for example all word processing related tasks in one place. I have set up the equivalent on Yosemite.
My problem is concerns the loss of exposé. Now I know when you swipe into launch pad you get a very similar effect but the issue I am having concerns the "zoom out" effect when you swipe into launchpad. With exposé all open apps/pages etc would be fully exposed - in my case several (sometimes as many as 9 word documents). What I am running into is when I do this in / into launch pad the "pile" of docs is exposed but they are still overlapping so I can't get a good look at which is which and visually identify where I want to navigate to.
My question is this; Is there a way to adjust the settings on launchpad so that when I swipe into it all the open apps/pages are fully separated (like in exposé) so that I can fully view all of them simultaneously? If so, instructions on how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Any alternative suggestions to doing this outside of launchpad are also welcome. If there is an exposé app for example, I would be quite willing to go that route.
My main concern is being able to quickly (ie a touchpad gesture) expand all the open pages so I can bounce between them.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Can't view raw files in Adobe Bridge CS4

I bought a new iMac OS X version 10.8.5 . I have a Canon 5d Mark ii and I shoot in RAW. I installed CS4.. I also downloaded the newest version of the camera raw plug-in (5.7). I placed the plug-in in applications--> adobe photoshop CS4 -->plug-ins--> file formats.
In Bridge, I can only view the grey thumbnail that says CR2. I can click on it and it'll open up into camera raw where I can edit some and then open it into photoshop. I want to be able to view the images in bridge to know which ones I want to open up in camera raw. Also, when I right click on the thumbnail there isn't an option that says "open in camera raw".
Should I also place the camera raw plug-in in the applications-->Adobe Bridge-->plug-ins?
When I click on about plug-ins on photoshop, it's showing me 2 camera raw plug-ins.. version 5.0 and version 5.7. I can't find 5.0 to delete?

If you just go to Help>Updates, Bridge should take care of this for you, unless you've managed to get multiple copies of the plug-in into the folder. If you manually installed things, check to see that there is only one plug-in there, then let Bridge do it for you.

Can't view photos in Adobe Bridge

Hi Everyone,
I just upgraded to a desktop, Dell Inspiron 3000 Series with Windows 7. I uploaded my Photoshop CS6 onto my new computer, but I cant view my photos on Bridge. No thumbnail previews, just the name of the photo.CR2. I can however view my Tiff files
Any idea how I can fix this? Would greatly appreciate the help, need to be able to see my photos soon!

So, you can't see your RAW files. That probably means you have not applied any updates after installing CS6.
You have to update BOTH Photoshop and the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in. That should work through the Help menu in Photoshop: Help > Updates

Can not view all the thumbnails in version 9 adobe standard

Hello,
I recently installed adobe standard 9 running parallel with adobe standard 5.
My end user is claiming of the view setting for patient data. She can not scroll all the way to the bottom
as she could in adobe 5. She can see all the thumbnails minus the last row. I have changed the prefereces to show the same
as adobe 5. However I can not get the correct settting to make it right for her.
Any adivse or trouble shoot steps would be appreciated. Adobe said to update the product, I have done that last night.

How do I do that?

Once you enter in More Basic Data screen you have field there for size/dimension.

Can we view SH's partner functions in Sales Order?

SP has a different SH and FA is assigned to SH in master record. When we create order we can see all the partner functions of SP but we can't see partner functions of SH. User wants to see which FA is assigned to SH. We can only view partner functions of SH in delivery document. Is it possible to view partner functions of SH in sales order as well? Please suggest the ways to configure this setting.
