Can't view multi-burst photos

My Sony camera takes photos in "multi-burst". When I import the photos, those and regular ones, the ones taken in multi-burst mode show up in iPhoto as one photo with 16 "little pictures" in it. How do I get the 16 photos to be viewed seperately? I use the "burst" mode sometimes when I'm taking action shots, but I need to have them seperate.

You will need a 3rd party editing program like Photoshop Elements that can select the particular area on the photo and copy it to a new file. However, you'll be stuck with low resolutio, i.e. 1/16 of the full file's resolution. If you're starting out with 1280 x 960 then one of those images will only be 320 x 240 in size. I doubt if that's what you're looking for. (Or just use iPhoto's cropping tool and crop the best image.)
You're not taking multiple, individual, full sized photos but putting multiple, sequential images in one image file.
Check to see if the camera has a "Continuous" setting. My Canon has that and it gives me 2.5 photos per second at full size, 2272 x 1704 image size.

Not sure what you want - you shoot the photo by doing a sweep and the camera makes a static JPEG that is long (panaromic) and you import it - on the camera and in iPhoto is is a panaromic photo

  • Can not view downloaded jpg photos after ios 7 install

I installed ios 7 on my ipad 3. Now I can not view my jpg picture. They show blank.

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • HT201317 I can not view my shared photo stream.  Does not show in source list. Help!

I cant view my shared photo stream from my source list.  This is preventing me from adding or removing photos.  Any ideas?

    Old Toad wrote:
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.  Then log back in and re-enable, respectively.  That should jump start Photo Stream in iPhoto if both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account..

And it seems you must do this every single time the shared photo stream is updated, ie. photos added/removed.  this is pīss poor.

  • How can I view only the photos in the root of a parent folder?

I can view the parent folder for my photos, but when I select it, I see all the photos in all the subfolders.  How can I filter the view to show only the files in the top-level folder?
    Thanks
    Fred

On the top menu bar click Library
Uncheck the box “Show Photos in Sub-Folders”
You can re-activate at any time.

  • How can I view off-loaded photos in iPhoto?

Because my iBook G4 had over 5000 pix in iPhoto, I needed to put a lot of those on an external drive. Can I still handle and view these pix in iPhoto? (I haven't deleted the original photo files from my computer until I figure out how this will work.)
    Any advice...?
    Thanks,
    Brenda

    Brenda:
You can have two libraries, one on your boot drive with the current photos and one on the external HD with those you've put into storage. If you use iPhoto Library Manager to can easily switch between libraries and copy Events or Albums between the two and preserve the keywords, titles and descriptions. That way you can easily keep both of your libraries current to your needs.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • HT4236 How can I view my synced photos from the computer?

I have synced my old phone onto the computer prier to getting a new one. Now I would like to view my photos from the computer. How can I do so?

    View what photos?
Photos taken with the iphone are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • How can i view and upload photos from an older version of iPhoto which are on an external hard drive to my new iMac?  i currently have copied the application version 9.4.2. on my lacie backup and want to view and upload this to my new iPhoto version 9.5.1

our old iMac died suddenly, but i had backed up the iPhoto application to a lacie external hard drive.   however, when i try to open it in my new iMac which is installed with version 9.5.1 and is upgraded to maverick, it comes up with “cannot be opened, to open you must upgrade to latest version” and then makes you press the quit button.
the iPhoto version on the external hard drive is iPhoto 9.4.2 which i upgraded on 29/11/12 onto our old iMac (early 2007 version)
my new iMac is running on version OSX 10.9.1
i have looked at buying  iphoto library manager and have emailed them about whether this would work, but any advice would be gratefully received as i cannot be the only person that has had this problem but i cannot find any answers that work.
    thanks
    Julie

YOu can rebuild with Library Manager and this does not require a purchase:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How can you view multi day events in month view without having to check the "all-day" box?

I have multi-day events that I would like to be able to view in the month view.  The only way that I have found to do this is to make the event a "all-day" event.  Is there another way to view these events in month view, or am I stuck?

It shows multi-day events that are "all-day" events.
But for a non "all-day" event that happens to span multiple days, it only shows the first day

  • How can I view and choose photos before importing from a digital camera?

    Hey,
I am using a Canon PowerShot A40 and I want to be able to (after I connect the camera and open iPhoto of course) view the pictures on the camera in iPhoto and choose individual images to import. I have 560 images, but I only want to import 3 (groan) and there seems to be no way to preview the pics before importing. So now I am importing 557 useless pics that I already have in my library just to get 3 more pictures! There has got to be a way to preview! C'mon Apple...
Anyway, someone please help me with this.
    Cheers,
    Josh

Oh, thanks Dave. I did not think Image Capture had even a useful function. heh.
Well, I used the "coffee" method (actually it was tea) and just deleted what photos I did not need afterward. It worked out, but I will use Image Capture next time.
No offence to Apple, but why the heck has Apple not included such a feature in iPhoto? I mean that is just common sense to include previews before you import God knows what, unless it takes a lot of work to make that happen for iPhoto. Windows makes it simple to preview and view images. O well, I am sure Apple will get it done eventually, but I shouldn't have to wait for iLife '08!
    Cheers,
    Josh

  • I can't view videos and photos in Adobe Reader

I have Adobe Reader but cannot get certain videos or photos etc from friends.  I have trouble updating.  I own an IMac desk top computer. I have recently installed XOS system which is not helping either.

  • Can't view simple JPG photo attachments emailed to me...

Another really basic issue. My wife sends me a simple JPG in an email. I can't see the picture on the iPhone. It's visible in Mail on my desktop. iPhone just doesn't work (either under 2.01 or 2.0)

Hi Steve. As I said in an earlier post, I had the same issue. I knew all along that there must be a simple solution, and there is. Maybe you've already tried this, but it worked for me. I reset my iPhone through iTunes. This puts you back to day 1 with fresh software. I had my settings backed up on my computer, so once the iPhone was reset, I backed it up with my previous settings. This took less than 15 minutes to complete and all worked perfect, even the jpg files sent to me from my wife or anyone else. Hope you are this lucky as well.

  • I recently updated iphoto 11 and now I can't view my photos in the iphoto library.  Screen is blank,  but photos will show if played as slide show.  What's going on? ? ?

On Friday, October 28th I updated my iphoto 11 because I received notice from Apple that I should do so for better stability in the program.    Today I opened I photo and found that although all my events show they are present and the number of photos in the library appears correct,  when I click on an event to view the contents, I get a black screen.   I am told there are no photos in the event.   When I return to the iphoto page it again shows all my events with pictures of the photos in the event thumbnails and the number of pictures in each event.    I can not actually view these photos individually.      Now here's the strange part,  when I select an event thumbnail and right click,  I can choose to view the event as a slide show, complete with music and special effects and it will play normally.   But no way can I view the event photos individually.     I have one event that claims to be empty, no photos in it,  yet when I click on that event  all 346 pictures pop up for individual viewing,  but will not play as a slide show.    I am totally confused and want my iphoto put back to normal.
Has anyone else had this problem?
How do I uninstall the update,  or failing that how do I get my photos back? ?

    Hi Liz,
Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem.  Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File",  then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups  opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine.  I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked  "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1).  I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu,  when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto,  that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz,  if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

  • How can I view icloud photos

How can I view my icloud photos? I lost my phone n need to get some pictures I originally back do I need to buy new phone n let as new to back up or can I just log in somewhere to view them

You can only view photo stream photos on an iOS device or computer that is signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.  This requires Windows 7 or 8 if you have a PC, or OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher if you have a Mac.  If you do, you can set this up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html.  Note: you will only be able to access photo stream photos from the last 30 days; older photo stream photos are no longer in iCloud.
If you backed up your phone, your camera roll photos are included in the backup.  Restoring the backup to a replacement iPhone should recover them.  Note: be sure to do this soon as Apple removes backups for devices that have not been backed up for 180 days.
