Can't view photos to load in book

Am I missing something obvious here? this is my first time creating a book. After selecting a theme, I am only given the option of loading 1 picture into the book.I can't figure out how to view any pictures to load. I click on the blue 'view unplaced photos' icon in the upper section and nothing appears. If I click on any album in the source list on the left, it leaves the 'book' behind and views the contents of that album. Back in the book view, I can't drag albums onto the book or into the top window. Am I doing something wrong?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you want to add photos to a book that's already in progress just select the photos themselves and drag onto the book's icon in the Source pane. Then they should show up in the photo tray at the top of the window.

This sounds like you are wanting to move your iTunes media folder to an external drive and have iTunes this folder from this location. If this is the case then I would recommend taking a look at the article below.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto. Version 8.1.2
- What version of the Operating System. OSX 10.9.4
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
When I open iPhoto, only the most recent photos are shown (last 12 months)
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages? This has been going on for several weeks now. There are no error messages, but yes, I had an update in the system (QuarkXPress 10.1), and the problem has occurred from that day.
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue. I tried to find out where the problem came from, but found no solution.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto? No
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

If you have Windows XP you are out of luck.

You can use automator to rename your files, BEFORE you import them into iPhoto. Doing so while they are already imported into iPhoto and iPhoto's database will cause iPhoto to lose the links between the thumbnails and the images.

Transfer them to an external disk formatted in "MS-DOS (FAT)" with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html
If you have the pictures in iPhoto, choose them with the Command key, go to File menu (on the menu bar) > Export, and copy them to the external disk. Then, connect your external disk to the PC and move them.
If you have the pictures in Finder, steps are the same, but in this case, you will have to drag the pictures you chose to the external disk that you can find in the Finder sidebar, under "Devices"

If you're loading photos to drop box why do you expect to see them in iPhoto?

Can't view photos in Adobe Bridge

Hi Everyone,
I just upgraded to a desktop, Dell Inspiron 3000 Series with Windows 7. I uploaded my Photoshop CS6 onto my new computer, but I cant view my photos on Bridge. No thumbnail previews, just the name of the photo.CR2. I can however view my Tiff files
Any idea how I can fix this? Would greatly appreciate the help, need to be able to see my photos soon!

So, you can't see your RAW files. That probably means you have not applied any updates after installing CS6.
You have to update BOTH Photoshop and the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in. That should work through the Help menu in Photoshop: Help > Updates

Can't view photos in iphoto but I still can in Preview

Recently I changed some of the folder names of my photos in the iphoto library, but now when I want to view them in iphoto they are blank. I can still view them through Preview mode if I go through Finder, but that's a hassle. Also, the photos that I didn't change the folder name I can still view in iPhoto. I use iPhoto 5.
What should I do in order to get things back to normal and be able to view my photos in iphoto??

1 - this is the iPhoto '08 forum - your question would be better placed in the iPhoto 5 forum - http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=850 - some things work differently and here people will assume that you have iPhoto '08 and the answers may not work on iPhoto 5

2 - You should NEVER modify the iPhoto library (or any other database structure for that matter) - you should ONLY use iPhoto to change things. At this time your two choices are to put things back exactly like they were or recreate your library which will lose your edits, albums, etc

I had a PS3 and could view all my files on my macbook pro.. bought apple tv - thinking it was superior... but I can't seem to access my photos in iphoto when using my apple tv... ??? Is it not possible to view photos from my macbook pro while using my apple tv???

One edit to the location in iTunes -- as of today and iTunes 11.0.2, you need to go to:
iTunes | File | Home Sharing | Choose photos to share ....
and select the appropriate folder, then click the "Apply" button.

When I say "more modern", from what I've read many sites recognise that Flash can be a problem on mobile devices (phones and tablets) because it's very power hungry. So, if I understand things correctly, many sites are putting up html5 versions, which is supposed to be much easier on computers / devices. Quite oftne when I go to a site on my iPad it auto-diverts to the "mobile" version of the site, and I haven't found a single case where I can't see a video. To be truthful, even if not directed to a mobile version, I don't have much trouble with any of the sites I visit..... I can see most videos and pretty much all graphics, the same as I can on my Mac, which does run Flash.
Still, I'm sure a computing expert will know much more.

Can't view photos and movies emailed to me on new 16GB iPhone

I'm sure this has been asked here already, but couldn't find it. When someone emails me a photo or a movie I can't view it on the iPhone. All I see is an icon with mime-attachment under it. I'm able to view the photos and videos on my iMac and Powerbook though. The 2 most recent videos were .wmv so I'm guessing I can't view those as it is right now on the iPhone, but I have no idea why I can't view the pictures. Thanks

whoever is emailing you the photos is sending them as a .zip file not a .jpg most likely because there is more than one photo. unfortunately iPhone does not have a .zip file reader so whoever is emailing the photos has to make sure they are not zip ing them and resend them as .jpg files. (usually gmail tries to convert several images into .zip files)

I can't view movies, photos, Safari web on my new iPhone 4 in "horizontal / landscape" view. What am I overlooking here? Is there a setting in "Settings" on the phone I can change, or is this "not" available on the iPhone 4? That would be ridiculous!!!

There is an option to lock the phone in portrait orientation. The lock is accessed vie the multitask screen: double tap the home button, and swipe from left to right, and you should see the lock at the far left. Press it to toggle the lock on/off.
