Can't view project once compiled.

I am converting from Winhelp (RH8) to Webhelp (RH9).  I have imported and I can see the imported word document from the Winhelp project, but once I compile and go to view it I get a blank page.  I am using Word 2003.  Anyone have an idea why I can't see the compiled project?

Can you please confirm that your RH9 WebHelp project has been created in the RoboHelp HTML application and not the RH for Word application you previously used for WinHelp? Also when you imported the content did you import the RTF file? It would also be worth checking that you have all the RH9 updates installed. Click on the Help > Updates menu item to ensure you have them. the latest version is 9.0.2. If you still have issues, try posting an image of what you are seeing. you can do this via the camera toolbar icon above.

  • Can't view slideshow once site is published

Hello-does anyone have any advice on this.
I published my website and then went to view it to find that it would not let me view the slideshow or click on a photo to enlarge. A box came up saying this...Firefox can't open because it cannot read the protocol.
    Anyone ever have this problem

Some problems with Firefox 3 and iWeb were fixed in the latest version 2.0.4 of iWeb. If you're not already on iWeb 2.0.4, then upgrade to it via  menu > Software Update...
Then in iWeb do +Publish All+ and clear your browser's cache before viewing your slideshow.

  • Unable to view project in RHS8 after publishing

I am using RH8 to publish my project to RHS8.  We are using Tomcat/IIS, but after going through the integration to IIS, I feel I'm not yet to done with the integration there.  But for now, I am only trying to publish and view the project in Tomcat.  I was finally able to publish the project successfully to http://<servername>:8080/<context>/server.  However when I view http://localhost:8080/<context> or http://localhost:8080/<context>/server all I still see is the default Robohelp Server page, saying to publish my files here and for more information to check the documentation in the publishing tool.  Can anyone help shed some light as to how I can get the project viewable on the server?

Hi, bjones91 and welcome to the Forums.
When you published the project, did you publish to a particular "Area". Otherwise "general" is the default. Here are some things to check.
First, if you haven't tried this already, go to the Web Admin application by using this URL
    http://localhost:8080/robohelp/admin
Log in and click on the "Projects" button along the left panel. Hopefully you will see your project listed.
If you do see your projects listed, you can click "View Project" and it will open in the browser.
If you would like to test the site directly from your browser, use this syntax for viewing the actual sites:
This shows the URL for a project titled EmployeeCare to an Area called "HR"
    http://localhost:8080/robohelp/server?prj=EmployeeCare&area=HR
This shows the URL for a project titled Marketing to the Default "Area" which is named "general"
    http://localhost:8080/robohelp/server?prj=Marketing&area=general
If you don't see your projects listed:
If not, then, there is definitely something wrong. Colum McAndrew and I  have seen situations where a simple "illegal" character in a filename  will prevent projects from showing up because the Tomcat server is very  fussy about legal names. (So, no *?)(&^%$#@!  or Spaces in your  Folder or Filenames. A dash - or underscore _ is OK. But good rule of  thumb is to keep Folder/Filenames alphanumeric and that goes for  anything on the web, not just RoboHelp projects
Of course there may be something else afoot. But, try these and get back to us if you are still having problems.

I get this pop up when trying to create a photo book through the iPhoto store.
"Some or all of the photos you selected were downloaded from your published albums. You can only view these photos. To use them in an album or a slideshow or project, you must import them to your photo library."
The photos I have selected have already been imported so how and why do I do it all over again?
What do they mean by published albums?  I categorize them into photo albums for organizational purposes after I import them from my camera or phone. So why can't I put them into a book now?
I have over 400 photos selected for a photo book for my child's graduation gift so how can I tell which photos I have to do this to?
Please help. Any insight wouyld be appreciated.
    Confused and frustrated...

Give this a try:  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

What that's telling you is that some of the photos you want to use are not in your Library but online in a gallery you have linked to. You need to download them first.

  • How can others view my project?

I have created a project that seemed very easy to do. My
problem is that I do not know how to export my file so that
everyone can see my project without having to purchase Captivate.
Is there a way to convert my project to a file evryone can
    view?

    Hey James
One thing I didn't mention is that you might be better off by
copying those files to a server. Then simply send the link to the
HTML page. Your user clicks the link and views your Captivate.
If you can do this it will likely save you and the recipient

  • How to burn project to DVD so it can be viewed on any DVD player?

    Hello,
I am new to iMovie and currently using it to make a movie that I want to give as a Christmas present, therefore I want to burn the movie to DVD so it can be watched on DVD players as well as computers.
I have done research and found that iMovie no longer allows you to burn DVDs via iDVD...
    So my questions are:
    1) When exporting my iMovie, what file format should I use for best compatibility (can be view on PC, MAC or DVD players)?
    2) What is the best free DVD burning software to use to get the movie onto DVD?
    Thanks for the help!

    1) So a .MOV file is the best way to export the video from iMovie?
Don't know - but should work OK. alt. .mpeg4 / H.264 - but might be more of a problem
    2) A .MOV file burned onto a DVD will be playable on DVD players?
NO - a Video-DVD (that can be played on any standard DVD-player) must be created using a DVD authoring program as iDVD etc. AND use Verbatim DVD-R disks to be on the safe side. Memorex is known to be problematic and so is +/-RW and DVD+R only plays on newer DVD-players.
    3) What quality should I export from iMovie in? My vidoes are in 1080P I think.
DVD - is as Standard (Whatever program used) only interlaced SD-Video and most programs are bad on Downscaling = Share to MediaBrowser and as Medium use to give best possibly result (if You do not use iMovie HD6 or FinalCut as they can deliver even better result)
    else I do not know
on DVD Quality I've collected this.
    DVD quality
    1. iDVD 08, 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities. (version 7.0.1, 7,0.4 & 7.1.1) and iDVD 6 has the two last ones
    • Professional Quality
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST (but not always for short movies e.g. up to 45 minutes in total)
    • Best Performances
(movies + menus less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD (Can be best for short movies)
    • High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6)
(movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
Menu can take 15 minutes or even more - I use a very simple one with no audio or animation like ”Brushed Metal” in old Themes.
    About double on DL DVDs.
    2. Video from
    • FCE/P - Export out as full quality QuickTime.mov (not self-containing, no conversion)
    • iMovie x-6 - Don't use ”Share/Export to iDVD” = destructive even to movie project and especially so
when the movie includes photos and the Ken Burns effect NOT is used. Instead just drop or import the iMovie movie project icon (with a Star on it) into iDVD theme window.
    • iMovie’08 or 09 or 11 are not meant to go to iDVD. Go via Media Browser or rather use iMovie HD 6 from start.
    3. I use Roxio Toast™ to make an as slow burn as possibly e.g. x4 or x1 (in iDVD’08 or 09  this can also be set)
This can also be done with Apple’s Disk Utilities application when burning from a DiskImage.
    4. There has to be about or more than 25Gb free space on internal (start-up) hard disk. iDVD can't
use an external one as scratch disk (if it is not start-up disc). For SD-Video - if HD-material is used I guess that 4 to 5 times more would do.
    5. I use Verbatim ( also recommended by many - Taiyo Yuden DVDs - I can’t get hold of it to test )
    6. I use DVD-R (no +R or +/-RW) - DVD-R play’s on more and older DVD-Players
    7. Keep NTSC to NTSC - or - PAL to PAL when going from iMovie to iDVD
(I use JES_Deinterlacer to keep frame per sec. same from editing to the Video-DVD result.)
    8. Don’t burn more than three DVDs at a time - but let the laser cool off for a while before next batch.
    iDVD quality also depends on.
    • DVD is a standard in it self. It is Standard Definition Quality = Same as on old CRT-TV sets and can not
    deliver anything better that this.
HD-DVD was a short-lived standard and it was only a few Toshiba DVD-players that could playback.
These DVDs could be made in DVD-Studio Pro. But they don’t playback on any other standard DVD-Player.
Blu-Ray / BD can be coded onto DVDs but limited in time to - about 20-30 minutes and then need
    _ Roxio Toast™ 10 Pro incl. BD-component
_ BD disks and burner if full length movies are to be stored
_ BD-Player or PlayStation3 - to be able to playback
The BD-encoded DVDs can be play-backed IF Mac also have Roxio DVD-player tool. Not on any standard Mac or DVD-player
Full BD-disks needs a BD-player (in Mac) as they need blue-laser to be read. No red-laser can do this.
    • HOW much free space is there on Your internal (start-up) hard disk. Go for approx. 25Gb.
less than 5Gb and Your result will most probably not play.
    • How it was recorded - Tripod vs Handheld Camera. A stable picture will give a much higher quality
    • Audio is most often more critical than picture. Bad audio and with dropouts usually results in a non-viewed movie.
    • Use of Video-editor. iMovie’08 or 09 or 11 are not the tools for DVD-production. They discard every second line resulting in a close to VHS-tape quality.
iMovie 1 to HD6 and FinalCut any version delivers same quality as Camera record in = 100% to iDVD
    • What kind of movie project You drop into it. MPEG4 seems to be a bad choice.
other strange formats are .avi, .wmv, .flash etc. Convert to streamingDV first
Also audio formats matters. I use only .aiff or from miniDV tape Camera 16-bit
strange formats often problematic are .avi, .wmv, audio from iTunes, .mp3 etc
Convert to .aiff first and use this in movie project
    • What kind of standard - NTSC movie and NTSC DVD or PAL to PAL - no mix.
(If You need to change to do a NTSC DVD from PAL material let JES_Deinterlacer_3.2.2 do the conversion)
(Dropping a PAL movie into a NTSC iDVD project
(US) NTSC DVDs most often are playable in EU
(EU) PAL DVDs most often needs to be converted to play in US
UNLESS. They are play-backed by a Mac - then You need not to care
    • What kind of DVDs You are using. I use Verbatim DVD-R (this brand AND no +R or +/-RW)
    • How You encode and burn it. Two settings prior iDVD’08 or 09
Pro Quality (only in iDVD 08 & 09)
Best / High Quality (not always - most often not)
Best / High Performances (most often my choice before Pro Quality)
    1. go to iDVD pref. menu and select tab far right and set burn speed to x1 (less errors = plays better) - only in iDVD 08 & 09
(x4 by some and may be even better)
    2. Project info. Select Professional Encoding - only in iDVD 08 & 09.
    Region codes.
iDVD - only burn Region = 0 - meaning - DVDs are playable everywhere
DVD Studio pro can set Region codes.
    1 = US
    2 = EU

What it turned out to be was the "quality" settings in iDVD. The total clip time was NOT over 2 hours or 4.7GB, yet iDVD created massive visual artifacts on the "professional quality" setting.
I switched the settings to "high quality" which solved the problem. According iDVD help, "high quality" determines the best bit rate for the clips you have.
I have NEVER seen iDVD do this before, especially when I was under the 2 hour and 4.7GB limits.
For anyone else, there seem to be 2 places in iDVD to set quality settings, the first is under "preferences" and the second under "project info." They do NOT seem to be linked (i.e. if you change one, the other is NOT changed). take care, Mario
to get this to work I
    • Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk
    • Use Verbatim DVD-R (absolutely no +/-RW)
    • Set down burn speed to x4 - less burn errors = plays on more devices
    • No other process running in background as - ScreenSaver, EnergySaver OR TIMEMACHINE etc
    • and I'm very careful on what kind of video-codecs, audio file format and photo file formats I use
    • and I consider the iDVD Bug - never go back to video-editor to change/up-date - if so Start  a brand new iDVD project
    • Chapters set as they should - NO one at very beginning and no one in any transition or within 2 sec from it
    • Lay-out - Turn on TV-Safe area and keep everything buttons, titles etc WELL INSIDE not even touching it !
Try to break the process up into two stages
    • Save as a DiskImage (calculating part)
    • Burn from this .img file (burning stage)
To isolate where the problem starts.
Another thing is - Playing it onto a Blu-Ray Player. My PlayStation3 can play BD-disks but not all of my home made DVDs so to get this to work I
    • Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk
    • Use Verbatim DVD-R (absolutely no +/-RW)
    • Set down burn speed to x4 - less burn errors = plays on more devices

    • Lay-out - Turn on TV-Safe area and keep everything buttons, titles etc WELL INSIDE not even touching it !
TO GET IT TO WORK SLIGHTLY FASTER
    • Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up hard disk
    • No other programs running in BackGround e.g. Energy-Saver
    • Don’t let HD spin down or be turned off (in Energy-Save)
    • Move hard disks that are not to be used to Trash - To be disconnected/turned off
    • Goto Spotlight and set the rest of them under Integrity (not to be scanned)
    • Set screen-saver to a folder without any photo - then make an active corner (up right for me) and set
pointer to this - turns on screen saver - to show that it has nothing to show
    • No File Vault on - Important
    • NO - TimeMachine - during iMovie/iDVD work either ! IMPORTANT
    • Lot's of icons on DeskTop/Finder also slows down the Mac noticeably
    • Start a new User-Account and log into this and iMovie get's faster too - if a project is in a hurry
    • And let Mac run on Mains - not just on battery

    Hi Vanessa,
Probably in Application view: Projects, the UI elements which you have mentioend are suppressed.
You can undo this by going to the context menu and and restoring the UI elements.

  • I download firefox 5.0 and now I'm having trouble dragging and dropping PDF files into Google Docs and I can't view the PDF once uploaded. I had no problems with this in the previous verion of Firefox

With firefox 5.0 I can't drag and drop pdf files in the google docs screen. When I do eventually get a pdf file uploaded I can't view it. I get "no preview available". In my previous verion of firefox (4.something) I had no problems with this and I was able to drag and drop and after uploaded I could view the entire file.

Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again.

How do you get to the "Multiple Item Information" window so I can click "Part of a compilation"?  When I transfer a CD to iTunes, and the CD has ten tracks, it loads as ten different albums.  Also, once this happens, do I have to delete the album and start over or is there a way to merge the albums in iTunes?  Using iTunes 10.04.08.

And you've made me remember that using the compilation flag may only work in iTunes if you go into the Songs view, then use View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser and then View > Column Browser > Group Compilations to make sure this line is ticked.
It is also best if View > Column Browser > Use Album Artists is also ticked.

  • TDMS Viewer Project

I started an open source project recently that was primarily used for SDF files.  The project uses the National Intruments Measurement Studio for charting.  I have started to add support for TDMS, MDF, and SIG files.  I am in the process of adding a CSV file importer as well.  I believe the TDMS file support is working.  Although I don't currently collect any data using that format.  I am using it internally to the viewer for importing SIG files and plan to use it for analysis export.  If you have issue viewing a TDMS file using this application please let me know.  If anyone is interested in collaborating or just looking for a viewer for TDMS files you can find the project at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sdflib .  The code is written in C# with some DLL's developed in C++/CLI.  You would need a license for Measurement Studio to compile the code.
I have a lot of work to do to finish the project.  The performance is fairly good but needs more optimization.  You can easily view channels with a million points.  I tried to minimize the plotting time and memory requirements by decimating the data before displaying it.  The following screen shot shows the example TDMS file that ships with Measurement Studio being displayed.  To plot data you drag and drop channels from the treeview to the chart.  TDMS channels will currently only plot on Waveform Charts.

Hello! I am very interested in your software, but when i tried to download it, i couldn't.
'Unable to find any mirror information for the "/SDFViewer/SDFViewer0.4.0.zip" file. Please select another file.'
This is the error message, please if you were so gentle to fix it or send me the file using email or whatever i would be very grateful!
    Thank you!
