Can't view website locally

I am hosting a website on my Mac Mini Server 10.6.7. The site views properly from any browser outside of my network, but not locally ...I get a "Safari can't find the server" message. I am assuming the problem has to do with the fact that my server and website share the same name ...server name is "example.com" and the site is "www.example.com". How do I resolve this issue? Thanks.

If DNS lookups are being handled by your Mac Mini Server, and the server domain name is the same as your website, then one option will be to setup Split-Horizon DNS. Not the easiest thing to do, but I am not a DNS wizard. Have a look at this document. There might be something here for you to work with.

Can't view website comments in Safari on iPad or iPhone

On neither of my iPhones nor my iPad can I see website comments sections. They remain blank and the busy icon churns like the website is constantly updating. My wife's two iPhones both show website comments. This happens using Safari and Chrome. My Safari setting are the same as my wife's. I've tried deleting cookies and other website data, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

As I said i've tried this on various WiFi networks with my iPad 3 and on WiFi and cellular on my iPhones 4 and 5: touching the comments button moves the screen to the comments section, but no comments are shown. On that site the comments button is grey before you press it and red afterwards, and it shows the number of comments, but the comments do not appear.
Instead when I press the comments button I get a whirling animated progress icon up beside the WiFi icon suggesting that the device is trying to download something. But the comments never load. (In previous versions of iOS and Safari there would be three lines in the comments area rapidly animated to show that someting was forthcoming, but the comments would never load.) As long as I stay on that webpage the animation continues, suggesting that the iPad is continually trying to access the comments data but unable to do so.
I've tried it with popups block in the Safari setting and popups allowed, with Javascript activated and not activated, etc. I've deleted all Safari data (cache, cookies, etc). Nothing seems to work.

The problem is Dreamweaver uses an older version of the swfobject.js library. You need to replace the swfobject_modified.js file that Dreamweaver automatically adds with the one that is created by Flash Catalyst. Just rename the FC version to match the DW version and overwrite the file (or change the script tag in DW).
You can replace Dreamweaver's version permanently if you want. The swfobject_modified.js file is located Dreamweaver > Configuration > Shared > Flash. Make sure you backup the file in case something goes wonky.

How can I view the Locals Window?

Hello -
I don't seem to have the option of viewing locals or watch windows. When I click on view -> Other Windows, the only options are Web Browser Find Results 1 and Find Results 2. If I click on debug -> Windows, the only option is Breakpoints.

If I understand correctly, you want to display the Locals window when using Transact-SQL debugger. You must be in debug mode to display the local window: In the SSMS, click Debug -> start Debugging; To access the Locals window, click Windows on Debug

Public ip address can't be used locally to access hosted websites

I have snow leopard server and I have successfully set up the server to be accessible via a public static ip address. Im hosting some test websites, and cannot access those sites locally using the public ip address, only using the private ip address. However, externally, I can access the sites using the public ip address.
In other words, while I'm at the office, I can only view the sites using the private ip address and not the public ip address. However, while I'm at home I can see the sites using the public ip address.
Why can't I access the public ip address locally?
I'm new to os x server ... New to any kind of server for that matter, so please keep explanations simple.
I'm at a serviced office, and the router here is not mine and I have no control over it. Some IT company manages it for the site, and they weren't very helpful. The basically told me there's nothing they can do and blamed Mac os x server - since they could just wash their hands of the matter since they don't deal with macs.
I was told by someone else, that this is common issue with some routers and that they could fix the issue on their end, but don't want to do it for what ever reason.
I could simply access the sites using the private ip address, but I'd rather use the public one as this is currently causing issues with some of the software we're using.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

The IT company (shock, horror) apparently doesn't understand IP routing, or didn't understand what you were asking. This case has nothing to do with Mac OS X nor Mac OS X Server, and everything to do with the capabilities of the gateway box.
I'm here going to refer to the firewall / gateway / router / DHCP server / box at the edge of your network as a gateway, because I really don't want to type all that stuff each time I describe this box. Your particular box might or might not be capable of all that.
Why? Likely because your particular gateway device is not capable of detecting and reflecting the connections back toward the target server.
IP routing. In small words.
If an IP address is within a range of IP addresses designated by the subnet mask, the packet goes directly to the target host.
If an IP address is not within that range, the packet is sent to the gateway.
The gateway will then send the packet to the next router on the way to the target. With a typical low cost firewall gateway box, that next router is likely the ISP's routers. With a somewhat higher-end box and with a smarter router within the gateway, the packets can go to other IP routers.
If the gateway is implemented for it, the gateway router's own address(es) will be recognized, and reflected back inwards. That means the address is public IP address on the way out, and is NAT'd when reflected, and sent back at the target host via whatever local processing rules or local port-forwarding rules might be defined and present within the gateway box.
Now what usually happens here ([once you get the hang of setting up DNS services|http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1436]) is called split-horizon DNS, and that's where your public DNS domain is also mostly-duplicated as one of the domains on your LAN and thus reachable in your LAN domain, and your local DNS server in your Mac OS X Server is then configured to return a private IP address (and one within the range of addresses defined by your IP subnet mask), and which entirely bypasses your gateway and allows the packet to go directly to the target box. Put another way, with split-horizon DNS, you insinuate your LAN DNS server into the network and configure it to pass out (or spoof) IP name-to-address translations for your public DNS names, and pass out local (direct, LAN, private) IP addresses.
The other option is to see if the IT company can switch the gateway box into what's usually called "bridged" mode, or swap in a box that acts as a bridge and not a router, and to install your own gateway behind it. Not all boxes permit that, but some do.

Let me try to ask my question a little more clearly:
When I tap the two overlapping boxes on the lower left (the option to Open New Windows), the new Window that appears will show your Bookmarked FAVORITES. But with my new iPhone 6, and the new iOS 8.0.2, when I tap the two boxes to open a New Window, my Bookmark Favorites show (as they always have and should), but below them, there is a dividing line underneath them, and it says Recently Viewed Websites, and has these websites available to tap.
So my question is, HOW DO I TURN THESE OPTION OFF?
*UPDATE (10.13.14): Since I have asked this question, I no longer see these Recently Viewed Websites under my Bookmarked Favorites in my new Window tabs. So I hope that Apple fixed it, or somehow it was a mistake, or somehow I changed an Option on my iPhone 6 that stopped this for reoccurring.

Thank's for your efforts, and I just wish that this was the solution. Unfortunately, it isn't because, after double-clicking on the pdf in the website, it simply "opens" in another Safari window as a black screen - the pdf is there, somewhere, but not visible (either as an icon, or as a document).
When I right-click in the black Safari window, where the file is supposed to be, the only option available to display the file is to "Open file in Internet Explorer" (which is not what I want to do). Other options include saving or printing the pdf, which I don't want until I've confirmed that it's the form that I want. The same options are offered if I right-click on the file icon in the website.
Any other suggestions, please?

Website lockdown: can't view a website, or log in to the WordPress dashboard

I have built a website using WordPress that is live, up and running. But I can't view it on my MBA or log in to the WP dashboard.
I can view the website and log in to the dashboard using other computers and devices, it just seems to be my MBA and also my iMac that won't let me have access.
I have been through various troubleshooting methods:
Flushed the DNS
Deleted the wifi network and rejoined
Cleared the cache
Tried another browser - FF
... and checked that my server provider is not blocking my IP
But still I cannot view my website or login to the WP dashboard.
Could anyone advise?

Try this, may have already.
But anyting that only works with archaic out of date and ancient XP and IE 6/7? is not current and was using non standard html codes.
Try setting IE to view the site in older mode
Also Opera, it can mimic IE and any browser other than the Active-X part anyway, by changing User Agent (very easy in Opera)
They not you need to update and be current with IE9 and Windows 7/8 (and mobile devices)
Oh, and if you have Pro/Ultimate, then you can use XP Mode and run that. Or run XP under Parallels - or run Windows 7 but run XP in a VM under Windows - easy to do and no different probably better in fact, than running VMs under Mac OS.

I can't view YouTube and some other website!

Since a week or so I can't view certain websites, these include YouTube, Google Translate and Google Maps. But it's not a connection error, when I type "youtube.com" in the address bar NOTHING happens, or when I click on a YouTube link which opens a new tab it doesn't even load anything, it just goes instantly blank. I even REINSTALLED Firefox 2 times and it still not works. This is driving me crazy. In Chrome everything works fine.

Installed Update, Now Can't View My Own GalleryI'm

I'm stumped...
I'm working on my website, which includes a Flash photo gallery that I created in Photoshop CS3. All was working fine a few hours ago. I could view the gallery from the local folder on my MacBook, could also view it online.
Was surfing for some gallery options and got the "Update Your Flash Player" link... So I did. (Up to 10.0.22.??? -- it's the latest version, I triple-checked...)
Now when I go to my own website, I can't view the Flash gallery (same is true from the local folder on my computer). If I open the page, all I get is two links:
"Upgrade Your Flash Player"
"Click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed"
If I click #2, the gallery works (locally and online).
I tried deleting the plugin from my "Library" and re-installing. No help.
Tried simply re-installing about 5 times. No help.
Thoughts???
