Can't visit site after upload to mobileMe

I just uploaded my first site to MobileMe from iWeb. When I click the visit button all I get is the page can't be found error

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the File->Visit Published site menu option. The drop down visit button often does not work correctly.
If that doesn't work try this URL: http://web.me.com/YourMobileMeAccount/.
Next do a File->Publish Entire Site to MobileMe and see if that will jump start the site.
You can check the server directly in the Finder by mounting your iDisk and going to the iDisk/Web/Sites folder to see if your website folder is there along with an index.html file.

  • No File name or number after uploading to MobileMe

After upgrading to patch Nov 4 with iphoto 11. The number or file name will not show up after uploading to MobileMe for sharing to others.

Same thing here. Can't get iPhoto 11 to display filenames in MobileMe galleries. I've already filed 2 bug reports from 2 different Macs with the same issue. I recommend you do the same. Just go to the 'iPhoto' menu, then select 'Provide iPhoto Feedback.'

  • My site is uploaded to MobileMe, but i can't see it on-line

I've uploaded a site to MobileMe, and have had a message telling my my site is ready to view.
I've registered the domain www.chrisfelstead.com When i input my domain, i just get the registration holding page, and cannot see my site.
I sent an email to my Domain registration company UK Reg. Below is the reply I have just received from them.....(I have taken a look at the company they mention, ZoneEdit.com but am not quite sure how this works). If you can advise me from here that would be great. I obviously don't want to have to wait for another 2-3 days (or pay any more money) before i am up and running if i can help it.....
    Message from UK Reg:
    Dear chris,
Thanks for contacting us with your support enquiry.
Fasthosts do not allow a CNAME to be set, this is the reason your iWeb page is not displaying.
To set a CNAME you will need to use a 3rd Party DNS provider such as ZoneEdit.com.
Once you have opened a free account with Zone Edit, they will give you at least two nameservers, you will then need to change your domains nameservers with the new ones given by Zone Edit.
After 24 - 72 hours, you will be able to set a CNAME from the Zone Edit control panel, your site will then resolve at iWeb in 8 hours.

    Chris:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Why not just use direct name forwarding, giving them the URL for your published site. To find out what that URL is select the site in iWeb and use the File->Visit Published Site menu option. When you get to the site copy the URL from the browser's URL window and use it.
If you plan on publishing additonal sites but not give them a domain name then the use the following URL: http://web.me.com/youraccount_name/site_foldername/index.html. Then if you publish a second site to the MobileMe account it won't conflict with the domain name site.
That's because when you publish a site to MobileMe an index.html file is created in the iDisk/Web/Sites folder pointing to the index.html file in the last published site's folder. Since the default URL for MobileMe is http://web.me.com/youraccountname/ (the index.html file is not necessary for the default address) it will open the last published site. If you have only one site them there's no problem. If you have multiple sites it can be a problem if you're not using the CNAME process. I prefer the direct forwarding method as it gives me more control.

  • Can't visit site from iWeb

I have a website hosted by iPage.  Previously I have had no problems using iWeb to publish to it.  This week I hit a bunch of glitches which iPage has finally sorted out and I have successfully published changes to my site.  However, now, when I try to visit the site directly from iWeb, it duplicates the name twice in the browser window and so the page is not found.  If I go through google I can get there and the changes are there, so that's cool.  iPage insists this is an iWeb issue and my settings are correct.  Why is iWeb pointing me to a page where the the site name shows up twice in the browser window?  This seems to me to be a simple settings issue somewhere.  I have emptied the cache on Safari.  any ideas?

Provide the URL of the website.
If the url is something like :
    www.domainame.com/sitename/sitename/pagename.html
it means that the first sitename is part of the pathname in the iWeb settings. Not wrong if you want that, but wrong if you don't  want it. iWeb publishes where you tell it to publish.
So go to the server to see what's really there. Then you know from firsthand experience, instead of what iPage tells you.

  • Having a protocol error and can't view sites after upgrading to iOS 8 on a iPad 2?

I can't access multiple sites on my iPad after upgrading is anyone else having this problem? Any way to fix it?

There are 2 ways to fix the issue:
    1) Disable mod_spdy
    2) Push Apple to fix Safari 8, b/c the problem exists in both iOS and desktop versions

  • Can't find photos after uploading and deleting from camera

Uploaded photos from samsung camera and Asked if I wanted to delete photos off camera afterwards which I did.  Photos nowhere to be seen ANYWHERE on the Mac! Help! VIP pics!

a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and then reformat the card --  I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos
Do the photos show in "last import"?

  • Mobile site taking over Desktop site after upload

I have an existing site hosted on a third party server.  I built a mobile site on Muse and just uploaded it via FTP.  Site worked great on mobile device but mobile took over the desktop as well.  I loaded the Muse files into the /. directory.
    Thanks for the help!

Thanks Brad for the reply!   I thought that was probably the issue so I removed all of the mobile files I uploaded originally (at least I think I did.)
I uploaded my original "index.html" file from my original files and all went back normal.  I then loaded muse files via FTP to a directory on the root entitled "mobile".  Now on my phone the site will only pull up the desktop.  Isn't Muse suppose to write files to the root for device detection or am I making some mistakes here?

Can you please provide more information such as
    1. what type of device you are using
    2. what kind of video editing you are looking for
3.Are you doing a drag and drop of video file to phone
currently in Nokia ovi suite when you transfer a video from PC to phone, based on the phone type connected if the phone doesn't support direct placback of your input video then the video is edited in the background and then copied to the phone.

  • Problems with my Iweb site after using Iweb Seo Tool!!

I just used the Iweb Seo Tool with my Iweb 09. I followed the Seo webpage instructions to use it. I published it and everything seemed to work well.
I added Google analytics and used every option available that the tool offers
As of today. When trying to use my bookmarked link in my bookmarks toolbar, it didnt work.I entered my site into the address bar and my site loaded fine.
    But...I have some problems.
My comments in my blog have disapeared
I cant log into my MobileMe account through my system preferences
My password and use name are rejected
I can log into my site through MobileMe.com and I have even changed my password.
I have tried to publish my Iweb site and I get the error "Couldnt reach the MobileMe configuration server"
I publish using my idisk and mobileme account
I have looked on other forums and found out that if i move my "cache" from my "home" folder, to the desktop that it should work... no luck!!
    Please Help!!!!
my website is www.kulturetattoo.com if you want to see where my comments are. They are listed under "testimonials" on my home page
Can I just delete the Iweb Seo Tool and get rid of any metatags, google analytics and everything else? and have my old website back?

iWeb SEO Tool can modify your site after you've published to MobileMe. It will do it on the MMe server. Takes longer but you can avoid having to publish to a folder and then uploading from there. Also the latest version, 1.7.2, is supposed to work with blog pages according to the developer: http://www.ragesw.com/products/iweb-seo-tool.html

  • Address Change after upload

I recently uploaded a website made using iweb. I had previously used a web site designer through the web page provider. When I visited the web site after uploading from iweb, I noticed that the web page address was listed as www.claudinebrown.com/www.claudinebrown.com/Home.html, instead of the simple www.claudinebrown.com. I had a counter on the designed website; however, I am not able to see the counter. What can I do to simplify the address and hopefully see the counter? I did a counter widget through iweb and I also did a html widget from the previous web site.

    Bonjour
the [widget of your hit counter|http://www.claudinebrown.com/www.claudinebrown.com//Homefiles/widget2markup.html] is too small. After apply the code, you need to resize it: its minimum height need to be 110 px.
In the sidebar, don't give to your SiteName the name of your domaine, choose a simple name. "Site" (the default name) was not so bad. An iWeb URL is like that :
    http:www.yourdomainename.com/yoursitename/yourpagename.html
If you want to change it you can have trouble with RSS feed (if your remove the sitename ex. "http:www.yourdomainename.com/yourpage.name.html") or Google ( if you choose a frame to display your website, ex. only "http:www.yourdomainename.com/" can be seen in the URL bar). i don't think that's a good idea.

  • IWeb sites have suddenly stopped working, can't "visit", won't display.

Hello. I have two sites up, both published to "Mobile Me". One has third party domain forwarding. Both worked perfectly, including the forwarding, until Sunday morning when: http://www.acarguy.net/arnaldoburgosstudios/Home.html (which is masked as www.arnaldoburgosstudios.com) stopped loading and I went straight to the iWeb error page. If I loaded the unmasked url, (visited from iWeb) I could see the site and it worked until today. My site forwarding service said everything on their end is ok. They get the same error messages using Firefox as well. I re-published the entire site and now neither site will load and I get a blank page @ www.arnaldoburgosstudios.com and I can't "visit" either site from iWeb at all. My car blog, which was totally unaffected before today, no longer works either and both sites display one of these error messages:
    Not Found
    or
Safari can't open page: Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://www.acarguy.net/arnaldoburgosstudios/Home.html”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.
Can someone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

UPDATE: After reading 10 pages of help I tried two things:
System Preferences > MobileMe > log out > entered "garbage name + password" (to reset the preferences) > logged in correctly
System Preferences > MobileMe > Back to My Mac > turned it OFF.
Suddenly both sites loaded correctly and I can see them on my computer. However, the sites still don't display at all on 10.5.x Macs (G5 tower here, friends iMac in another state) but do display and act correctly on our old G4 running 10.4.x

  • Broken links after uploading web site to server

We created our office's web site using Dreamweaver CS4, and uploaded it to the server of our ISP.  Prior to uploading, we tested the site in both IE7 and Firefox, and everything worked fine.  After uploading, however, all images are lost and several of our links are broken.  Any suggestions on where to start looking and how to fix are very appreciated.

Your code is whacked. Your page can't find the Spry files. Your code is like this:
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarVertical.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
That dot-dot part (../) means the page needs to back up to the parent folder, then enter the SpryAssets folder. Same for your images and links:
    <h1><a href="../Images/larger-logo.jpg"><img src="../Images/larger-logo.jpg" alt="logo" width="300" height="150" border="0" align="left" /></a></h1>
Looks like you used a Dreamweaver template and somehow your links/references got messed up. It has nothing to do with uploading to a server. The problem is most likely caused by [a] Dreamweaver site not properly configured, or [b] improper use of a Dreamweaver template. You'll need to either manually fix all the bad code or try to recreate a page based on the template - or even recreate the template.
First thing first - you need to understand the problem. Do you understand - looking at your code - what the problem is? Why those ../ are breaking things? Do you understand the concept of paths? You need to understand that before you can understand how to fix this.

  • Can I pull iWeb files back from MobileMe after hard drive failure?

I suffered a recent hard drive failure and while I had my pictures backed up I didn't have my iWeb files back up and don't want to start the website from scratch if at all possible. Is there any way to save the files I uploaded to MobileMe back to my computer so I can continue my website?

  • Never made web site,Not subscribed to MobileMe, where can  publish for free

I want to start off making a website, a basic one, as its my 1st about a hobby.
I was going to use a free online web based one, but thought I have iMac and iLife 08, so why not try iWeb
I know its tied into MobileMe, but is there a way to post the site after designing in iWeb to a different site?
If so how, and where are free sites that you can publish to please.
    cheers
