Can someone help me hook Itunes movies to myTV?

So that means the Apple TV is having trouble connecting to the network.
When you say you can't see it in iTunes, is that on your computer? If it's not fully downloaded on your computer you won't be able to play it via Apple TV.
If you wish to solve the connection issue in order to rent on Apple TV then make sure it is signed into your network. If on wifi try Ethernet. Reboot ATV and router.

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.

How can I watch itunes purchases on my samsung smart tv?

I received a nice Samsung Smart TV as a Christmas gift and I have a couple unwatched movies I purchased on iTunes that I'd like to be able to watch on my TV as I do with the HBO Go, NetFlix, Amazon apps on my Samsung TV, etc. Is there an app I can download to watch iTunes purchases just as I watch Netflix et al? Before I had my smart TV or blu ray players with Netflix and Amazon I used to just connect my MacBook pro to my HDTV, but I feel like this method is quited outmoded now and was hoping for a different solution...
I know people will likely suggest purchasing Apple TV, but I don't see the point when I only own a couple iTunes movies/TV shows and already have a smart TV and two blu ray players with Netflix et al. Also, what else is Apple TV good for that my Smart TV and blu ray players and MacBook pro cannot do?
Would be great if they'd just develop an app that I can install on my smart TV, even if I had to pay a little bit for it... it's much preferable and easier than buying yet another overlapping product.

There is an amazing FREE server named Plex. Go to the website and install the app on your MacBook. Now open the app and follow the instructions to select your movie folder. You would want to select your iTunes movie folder in this instance. You can select a different folder for TV shows. You can also select more than one folder for each category. Now while plex matches your movies with MetaData and cover art etc, go to your TV app store and install plex. Follow through the instructions and add your IP to Plex on your TV. And there you go, wirelessly streams your contact over your internal network! It works great I have used this for a long time.

Can you watch iTunes TV shows while they are downloading?

I've just purchsed a TV show/episode from iTunes. I thought I read somewhere that you can instantly begin watching the show,even before the download is complete. My estimated download time remaining for this show is currently 8 hours.
Is there a way that I can start watching it before it is finished or will I have to wait until tomorow?
Does my computer still have to be connected to the internet during the entire download process?
Any help is appreciated!

I have never bought a show from Apple so can't say firsthand, but I thought I read here you can. Of course if it is taking 8 hours to download then unless it is an 8 hour program or you take a lot of restroom breaks you're going to outpace the download speed.

in case you have not noticed yet … the iPad app "iTunes Festival London 2013" version 4.3 is NOT compatible with iOS7.
While I could enjoy the shows with iOS 6.1.3 without any problem - after updating to iOS 7 and updating to 4.3 of the Festival-app … whenever I click a video the screen collapses downwards and turns black.
In case you find the bug it would be great, if you added some extra days for watching the missed / recorded shows.

Can't Watch iTunes Extras....

I have 2 movies that have iTunes Extras included, Talladega Nights and The DiVinci Code. Both can be watched on my iMac. Only one can be watched on my ATV, Talladega Nights. I received an email regarding downloading The DaVinci Code with iTunes Extras. I clicked/downloaded from the link provided, but, I cannot watch the iTunes extras for DaVinci. I've restarted my ATV on several occasions to see if this would help to no avail. Any suggestions?

Mmmm, second similar post, try Repopulating itunes, although I have to say it didn't help the other poster. Perhaps if you try this for both the extras and the movie.

Can I watch iTunes-purchased movies from an Airport Extreme USB disk?

With the newest Airport firmware (7.6.1), it seems I should be able to do this.
My scenario is so basic, I can't understand why I'm having trouble achieving this.
- I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.2 - since it's a laptop, I don't want to leave it on all the time.
- I have an AirPort Extreme with a USB disk on it (that I use for backing up my MacBook), recently upgraded to newest firmware 7.6.1.
- I have a recently purchased Apple TV hard-wired to the AirPort running firmware 4.4.4.
- I have purchased movies though iTunes on the MacBook Pro.
I want to watch my iTunes-purchased movies on my Apple TV even when my MacBook Pro is sleeping. That is, I would like the movies to be accessible via iCloud, or stored on the USB disk connected to AirPort Extreme, or something/anything.
It seems obvious to me that with an all-Apple set up, and iCloud, this should be easy to achieve.
What am I missing?

Yes you can play them on your phone, you will find them in the 'video' app.

I just bought the movie "Drive" on iTunes on my ipad2. Itunes states when i next connect on my DESKTOP i will get the extras and i did but -- they won't sync or transfer to my ipad.

When I pull up the Movies tab for my ATV, it says at the bottom of the list of rental movies, "You must be connected to the Internet to transfer a rented movie." So, I think you need to be connected to the internet to transfer them.... Mind you, I've never shut off my internet connection to test this.

Apple apparently doesn't let you watch movies from your iPad2 even though it works fine with tv shows. Is there any way around this? It seems pretty annoying given that these are movies purchased throu iTunes.

No, I'm not using "sharing." the movies are resident on the iPad, which is connected via HDMI to a digital TV. I just did a quick check with several movies and the following play perfectly:
Psycho
War of the Worlds (original 1953 version)
The Sting
When I get a chance (probably Monday), I'll set up "sharing" and run a test for you.

Well Apple wants to provide this, but Hollywood is VERY protective over there content and does not want the same thing happening to them as did the music industry.
The nano doesn't support video only the 5G iPod.
Apple announced a Prototype device code named iTV thats basicly like a set top box and streams your purchased content like video over to your TV wirelessly. THey PLAN on having it out the first part of 2007 unless they hit some glitch

I bought the last version of IPad that came out recently ( I bought it 3 weeks ago). It is a 16GB.
So far I love this product, but I 'm getting stuck with movie downloads from iTunes.
Indeed I just ordered 3 movies in HD and they don't download as the message "error lack of space" come up.
So I made some space on my IPad, erased most of my music (only 156 MB left), I had pages, I erased it but really I 'm loosing $11..., I erased all the movies I had before, and much more. Now what I don't understand is that I have only 3GB available when my following applications don't even take the 10.3GB of used space:
Music: 156 MB
Skype: 34,2 MB
Sleep well: 16.6 MB
Calculator: 11,8 MB
Voice memos: 9,8MB
Iswifter: 6,2 MB
And Video says no Data
There is no extra application, so it is really strange it is doing this. I tried to reset and restart many times with no success. I also tried to look at the previews of the videos I bought and tried to redownload them but the same message come up.
Now apart of the strange lack of space on my IPad, I understand that the videos I wanted to download were in HD and therefore too big.
What I would like to do is to shift to download to SD but I can't do it and also can't erase the downloads...
I wonder if the downloads are actually not already taking space even tho they haven't even been able to charge some information (they are not even downloaded half way or anything like that).
Unfortunately I don't have a computer to download my IPad to, so I could try to manipulate the videos purchased from there. I'm traveling and now I can't watch movies anymore which is very annoying...
Also I checked my multi tasking is off....
Could you please help me as soon as possible on this?

According to the trms of the iTunes and app stores - all sales are final. but that doe not mean that you can't try anyway. People ask for refunds all the time. Use the Express Lane email to contact iTunes.

You can still download the other movies in iTunes on your computer. Launch iTunes and go to Store>Check for Available Downloads. You can download them in iTunes and then sync them to the iPad later. When you are done watching the first movie, you can transfer it into iTunes on your computer, delete it from the iPad and you will have the room for another movie on the device. To transfer the movie when you are done with it, you can use the transfer purchases feature.

If the photos that you lost were photos that you took with the iPad, they should be in your iPad backup - if you sync with iTunes or if you backup with iCloud.
