Can't watch rental movie hunger games, Can't watch rental movie hunger games, Can't watch rental movie hunger games

Hi guys,
Anybody any idea how it's possible I can't watch the new hunger game movie I rented of the iTunes Store?
I just seen the first chapter, bought it, rented the second part. And now can't mirror the dmn thing on my Apple TV nor can it watch it on my iPad?? It shows up in my rental section and stuff and even looks like it wants to play but then just goes back to the rental screen and nothing happens.
Plz some suggestions, this really scks!
Thnx a lot.
No tanks to Apple. Minus kudos big time!!!

What have you rented it on ? If a computer's iTunes then it should be in the Movies part of your library (if it's not there then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option download it ?), if an iOS device then it should be in its Videos app.

  • Movie rental Q: How many times can you watch the film within 48 hours?

It's just I have 8 hours left on Into The Wild and I fancied watching it a second time, only it is not playing when I click on the thumbnail. It just says "accessing the iTunes store" for a few seconds. I've tried clicking play. Other films appear to work ok, just not this one. I assume that if it doesn't let me watch it a second time iTunes will give me free movie rental credit.

According to the FAQ "Once you've started to watch the movie, you have 24 hours to finish watching the movie (even if you start watching before the download is complete). You can watch the movie as many times as you want within this 24-hour period": iTunes Store movie rental usage

  • I rented a movie from iTunes on my apple tv, can I watch this rental on another apple tv that's on the same network and under the same account?

I would like to rent a movie from iTunes on one of my apple tv's and would like to know if I can watch that movie rental on another apple tv on the same network. I used to rent movies on my Mac and was able to watch on different apple tv through home-sharing.

    Hey hskcheng,
Movies rented on an Apple TV can not be transferred to a different device. See this article for reference -

  • HT1657 Can I watch a rental movie in my iPad when in an airplane with the airplane mode on?

I rented a couple of movies hoping to watch them in the plane and all it says is it can not open when I try to watch.... Is there a way to watch rented movies in airplane mode?

Actually, I just called AppleCare and they told me that an Internet connection was required. I tried it anyways. Once the rented movie is fully downloaded onto your iPad, it will appear in the Videos app, in the Rentals section. From there, even if you turn the airplane mode on, you should be able to press the play button and watch the movie. Note that I rented the movie in HD format and that I use the iPad 3rd generation.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,

  • I rented an HD movie in iTunes by mistake. Can I switch the rental to SD version before starting to watch it? Trying to make room on iPad.

I rented an HD movie in iTunes by mistake. Can I switch the rental to SD version before starting to watch it? Trying to make room on iPad for more rentals to take with me on trip.

You can get the SD or 720p version by:
    Open iTunes 11
Click iTunes in menu bar > select Preferences...
    Click on the Store tab
Change When downloading High Definition videos, prefer dropdown to 720p > click OK
Click on the iTunes Store button
    Click Purchased link
    Click Movies tab
You should now see a download icon for the movies you already have 1080p version of.
Click on this download icon to download the 720p version.
This will put a 720p version in the same folder on your hard drive as the 1080p version.  If you have iTunes setup to play 1080p when available, it will play the 1080p version.  When you connect your iPad 1, it will sync the 720p version.
Don't forget to change your preference back to 1080p so you can continue to get the higher quality version.

  • Why can't you watch movies you rent instantly like Netflix it takes 3 hrs for iTunes rentals to start

I just rented my first movie on my apple tv from iTunes and it said it would be 3 hours before I can watch the movie. What the heck is up with that and why dose it take that long for a movie to start? I also have netflix and it starts instantly so why dose iTunes take 3 freaking hours I mean really how convenient is that. My wife and I decided to try an iTunes rental to watch a movie and then learn it will be 3 hours before we can watch it. This is again a **** poor thought out apple service that should at least inform you of this BEFORE you rent the movie not AFTER you pay for the darn thing. This will be the last time I rent from your stupid iTunes movie rental service because it *****.

    Do you have?
A video driver that supports HDCP (you may need to check with the manufacturer to determine if your video driver supports HDCP)
A display that supports HDCP with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher with a digital connection (DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI)

  • I would like to watch my movie rental or tv show on the tv. Since I can't download to a USB, what options do I have?, I would like to watch my movie rental or tv show on the tv. Since I can't download to a USB, what options do I have?

I would like to be able to watch my rental movie/tv shows from Itunes on my tv... I understand that I cannot put it on a USB stick, but is there any other option available? I've tried USB to USB cable and am having no luck.

If you have a modern Mac with a mini-display or Thunderbolt port you should be able to obtain a converter from there to HDMI (e.g. this one) so that you can plug it through to your TV to mirror what's on your screen. Note that this output does not carry audio (at least on some Macs) so you will need to connect that separately from the headphone output (3.5mm stereo jack to whatever your TV or hifi uses).

    Hey rossfromwarren,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you were experiencing an issue with an iTunes Movie Rental. Due to the time limits associated with rentals, you may wish to report a problem with your purchase if the issue was not resolved before expiration:

  • HT1390 How long can you keep a movie rental, once it's downloaded? Do u need wifi to watch it?

How long can you keep a movie rental, once it's downloaded? Do u need wifi to watch it?

As long as it's been fully downloaded then you shouldn't need to be online in order to watch it.
As to how long you have to watch it, from here :
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.

  • HT1657 I rented a movie but had to interrupt the download as I was not near a Wi-Fi hot spot for a period of time.  I boarded a plane and then could not watch the movie.  Can I get a credit for the rental since I was not able to watch it?

I was downloading a rented movie but could not finish the download before I had to board a plane.  I went to play the movie on the plane but received an error message and could not watch it.  I was charged for the rental.  Can I get a credit?

Personally I would raise the problem with iTunes Store Support via:
    https://expresslane.apple.com
You can also Report a Problem via the link in your Purchase Invoice e-mail or from your iTunes account Purhcase History by logging into your Account Settings in iTunes on a computer.

You would have to rent it again.
Once started the movie you have 24 hours to complete viewing.

    Hello kmb_cb_lb
If you cannot get your rental to play, then report the issue to the iTunes Store to get it resolved or refunded.
