Can't you block numbers on an Iphone??

I cant seem to figure out how, Its strange that you cant cause other phones have this option

Mobile telephones cannot block incoming calls. Not iPhone, not any. There exist three different methods for "blocking" incoming calls from a specific number:
1. Have the carrier do it. Not all carriers offer the service, others do but charge you for it. Some require you to call them, others have a web-site to add numbers to the list, and a scant few even provide an app for it. This will block the call before it ever gets to your phone. A carrier block will prevent the caller from being sent to voicemail.
2. Ignore the call. Some phones permit you to add a number to an "ignore" list where the phone will not ring, vibrate, or otherwise provide you with feedback that it's receiving a call. If the person persists, the call will fall over to voicemail. Note that while the phone is "ringing" it will block receipt of other calls. The iPhone doesn't support this. You can make an "ignore" contact that has a silent ring, but that's about it.
3. Use a third party. You can sign up for Google Voice, which will provide you with another number for your mobile phone (beside the direct number). Google Voice has a huge number of features, but one of them is the ability to black-list numbers. If you give people your GV number instead of your cell number, it will forward for most calls but those on your blacklist will simply not come through to your phone. You can add to your blacklist with the browser on your phone.

Otherwise, consider increasing the block size or decreasing the device size.
If I add the -Jblock64 option works, but dunno how can affect the performance of the cluster disk. By the way, block Size cannot be increased since 4096 is the maximum allowed.

As far as I know, by default with block size = 4K you should be able to format a 16TB partition, am I wrong?
    Any ideas?

  • How i can check last dialled numbers on my iphone?

how i can check last dialled numbers on my iphone?

It should be. When selecting Call for a number and the number starts ringing, the clock has started for being charged for that call. The clock doesn't start when the recipient answers the call as when dialing long distance with a landline.
There is only one way to know and determine this for certain with your carrier and if your carrier includes such detailed info with your account - checking your online account with your carrier.

  • HT201229 CAN you block numbers on your phone with iOS 6

I have ios6  can i block numbers from phone the way you are doing it with ios 7 noww

But you can set things up so they are less annoying.
Find a silent ringtone on the Internet. Install it on your phone.
Create a contact for the number. Give that contact the silent ringtone, and set vibrate to none.
Set the texting entries in the contact to none and none for sound and vibrate as well
now if they call or text you will not hear them. You will only know if you are looking at the phone and it lights up when they call, and you will have a missed call notice. You just ignore them. But it does not wake you up, or make you stop what you are doing to answer the call

  • Can I change phone numbers on an iPhone?

I just ordered an iPhone 5 for my wife.  I want it for myself, but I'm not eligible yet.  My wife is eligible, but she could care less what phone she uses.  So can I change the iPhone 5 phone number when I get it so that it is my number instead of hers?  And then would need to change my iPhone 4S from my phone number to her phone number.  Is that possible and does it cause any issues with apps or anything like that?
    Thanks in advance!
    Greg

You would have to talk to the carrier about actually doing it, but it is certainly doable (AT&T can do it over the air if you just call them) if these are both numbers on one family or shared account.  And no, the phone number will not affect apps or content - that is tied to your AppleID.
If you each have separate accounts it would be more complicated, as the numbers would have to be moved to different accounts.  Again, doable, but honestly, I would prefer to go into my carriers (AT&T) corporate store to do it - that way you have them captive until you are sure it has actually been successfully done and both phones are actually re-provisioned and working with their new numbers.
If you have iMessage accounts associated with those numbers though, before you swap the numbers, select the AppleID in Messaging and log out.  Then log back in (with the right AppleID) once the new number is programmed and it will re-associate the number with the right iMessage account.

  • Can I switch phone numbers between two iPhones?

I have ordered a 3GS, replacing my wife's 2G model. She will now get my 3G model. Do we have to change phone numbers or is there a way to move my 3G number with the 3GS and vice versa. It would be much better if that was possible.

I also wish to switch phone numbers between phones. I just got off the phone with AT&T customer support. You can handle this over the phone. Need to have the two phones in hand at the time. I got through to customer support today with less than one minute on hold. I was quite surprised. AT&T must have really staffed up for the release.

  • Why Apple does not provide for call block / blacklist function on iphone?

If Apple frowns upon jailbreaking the iPhone, why not AT THE LEAST endorse and make available third-party application that can provide a decent call block / blacklist function (like the Call Blocker for BlackBerry)?
Can an Apple representative provide feedback pls?
[Most telcos do not provide call-screening as a value-add service. Even if they do, a more cost-effective method is still the better option.]

Have you asked your service provider if they offer any call blocking service? I know here in the USA, AT&T does, although they do charge $4.99/month for the service (it is part of a parental control package that allows control of both numbers that can be blocked from calling you, and numbers that your iPhone can call to).
On-phone black list apps typically work by using caller id info and looking it up against the apps own database of numbers you've entered. So your phone still rings at least once, as the phone needs to allow a brief connection for the app to get the caller id info before disconnecting a number flagged for blocking. There really is no way to truly block calls from the phone itself, you need your service provider to be on board with the idea, so they can dis-allow the call at the switch and truly block it from ever reaching your phone.

Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.
