CAN Text Box/Shape with Text on top of Flash?

Hi,
i'm wondering, Do the Text Box/Shape with Text posible to put on top of the Flash?Do it able to read the Text after published?
I'm scratching my head...Safari Have no problem to read it but Windows user can't read the text.
Any idea?

The item could be on a master page or a locked layer, but you indicate you were able to modify the wrap attributes...

Is there a way to have a "text box" stay with a table or chart?

I have multiple tables on one sheet. I understand that the table is named over in the left side of the screen. For what i need to do, I am looking at multiple tables on one sheet. Its easier to know which is which by having a text box above with its desctription. If I need to move that table I would like for the text box to move with the table it is for, rather than having to move them both seperately. Is there a way to like "merge" them together? I've selected the two together and looked for an option in the inspector & in the menu bar, yet still cant figure it out.

For a table, you can use the Table Inspector to Show Name (checkbox near the top of the Inspector pane).
As seen above, the Table name can be formatted using a choice of font, size and colour (not changed in the example). To format, click on the displayed name to select its frame/box. Then use the controls in the format bar to chose font, set size and color, and set the background colour if desired.
I had finally just figured that out before I read this, after quite some time of messing around with it. Thanks for your quick response. Wish i realized these discussions were available when I first started using numbers! How very helpful!!

Color conflict when printing text boxes layered with images

Thank you in advance for any insight on this question. I've got a text box grouped with an image in a Pages document. The text box is layered in front of an object and is transparent (no fill color in the text box). The object however, is filled with a color. When printing the document, the image comes out in two shades of blue even though the text box is transparent. Thoughts?

Want to add that if you uncheck the Retain Slide Quality Settings, you'll have to keep the High setting.
Another way to change slide quality is before publishing, and in that case I prefer Optimized to High (which is not possible when overriding the Slide Quality on publishing, there you only have the choice between Low and High).
Still I'm puzzled because the simple TEB normally do not cause that kind of quality issue, have seen it happening with shapes (because they have transparent pixels) and images, but with TEB's? Wondering

Frequently, when I click a text box to enter text, Firefox will display multiple vertical text cursors.

This problem began with the recent update to Firefox 4. It happens most regularly in the Google search box but can also happen in any text box within Firefox. Usually I highlight the text box to enter text and I will see the normal text cursor (blinking vertical line) as well as one or two additional non-blinking vertical lines positioned after the blinking one. I can enter text and all visible (blinking or not) cursors move to the right. When I delete a line of text it often leaves a string of solid vertical lines.
I never had this problem in version of Firefox prior to 4.0 and upgrading to 5.0 did not fix it. It got so annoying that I started using a different browser, which I would rather not do because I like Firefox. I have spent a number of hours trying to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it with no luck. Any help resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

I deleted cookies and cleared cache and (so far) problem appears to be solved thank-you.

Default gutter width for drawing text boxes for overset text

I have master pages that were created with columns and the correct gutter width we want. When I drag a story from a window (a window that is part of our CMS) and place it on the page, the gutters between the text columns are correct -- p9 (or 0.125 inches). But if I draw a new text box or if I click the red plus to draw a text box for overset text, the gutter is a full pica (or 0.1667 inches).
I want any text box that is drawn on the page or any overset text box that is drawn to default to p9 for gutters.
I don't want to manually change the gutter for every new text box I draw.
I'm using ID with CS4.

The default gutter in a multi-column frame is set in the object style under Text Frame General Options. If you haven't defined any new styles you only need to edit the [Basic Text Frame] style. New frames will use the new gutter value when you add columns. If you have object styles for other text frames, you'll need to edit those, too. For existing frames, if the number of columns has been changed manually, you will need to reset the gutter.

I have updated to the new version of iPhoto but it will no longer let me edit text in the preset text boxes. The text is highlighted for a nanosecond but will not stay highlighted so I can amend it. Can anyone help me with this. Many thanks.

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

You should be able to double click in the text box and add or delete text. First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos, create a book and check to see if the same problem persists. Post back with the results.

How can I make the »Text Box« blend with the background?

I have a problem that my document is almost finished, but still I cannot solve one basic problem. My “Text box” fields are still selectable (I get the blue select/resize buttons around the text) when I click on them when reviewing my document in the reader. In this “Text box” fields there is text that is not meant to be changed by the end user. It should just be shown (blend with the background) and not selectable. This resize buttons around the text box don’t work and don’t allow the end user to change the size but their presence alone drives me crazy.
Should I use the “Stamp” tool in this case or is there a setting (with the text box tool) that I’m missing?

It seems that I found the solution. Is the only way to avoid the before mentioned edit box that I use the TouchUp Text tool to add text?

I want to save a shape with text as a picture

I am using Word for Mac. I want to combine images with text and save it all together as a picture or jpeg file. I am using a shape and inserted the images and added the text. I know I have done this before but I can't remember what I did. I thought it had to do with how the shape is formatted, but I have tried all the options and the option to "save as picture" is never available. I also tried inserting shapes and texts together in a text box. I tried grouping everything. I hope one of you brilliant people can help! Thanks.

You could try a detour via a PDF document and Preview:
In Word use "File > Print" and press the "PDF" button in the lower left corner. Then select "Open in Preview". This will open your image in Preview. There you can crop it and export the cropped image as a png file or a jpeg using "File > Export". Select a different format in the "Format" pop-up menu:

I created one stored procedure in DB,it is as follows:-

And at the front end I have designed a form with 2 text boxes, now my question is I wanna compare these text box values(which user enters) with the data of the table....??? something like control (may be I am not sure)..... ???

I'm always getting the Error Message as "Invalid Creditianls"... let me tell you the whole scenario with sql synatx.

as per you told me in the above post, I have created 'Validation' procedure with Type as 'Exists' and expression(into Validation Expression1)as:-

and
kept an error message as 'Invalid credentials'.....
but I don't know what's going wrong..... I do have few data into the table, and when I am entering the same data(with case sensitive) I am getting the Error message, rather than when the credentials are perfect user should be allowed to enter into the current page(where I have created this form and validation procedure)....
any idea what's going worng and where...????

Text Box issues with a poster template

This sounds stupid and all but, I am trying to type lowercase in a text box in one of the poster templates and it will only type caps. I cannot seem to find anything to clikc or unclick. It seems like this shouldn't be so difficult.

I too am having problems with the text box. I have a line at the beginning of each sentence, I can't seem to get rid of. Now this problem does not exist on the first page, but any other pages I try to edit the text on I get this line. I've looked everywhere, but can't seem to find the solution. Any help out ther? Or if you need further clarification to the issue, just let me know!

Illustrator CS 6 won't paste into a text box/paragraph of text, instead pastes a new line of text in the upper left corner of my document. How can I get it to paste into the selected paragraph or highlighted text like normal?

I've done it a million times, I copy a selection of type...I select the type that I want to replace it with, and then I paste. Now, Illustrator will only paste the text as a "point text" (a single line) somewhere else on the artboard—it seems to always be the upper left corner of the art board.

In cases of sudden appearance of strangenesses, the list may be relevant, hopefully the easy part at the top.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Framed text box will not display on top layer of overlay

I am trying to place a framed photo and a frame text box over a layer. I have done this many times with no problem. Now, only the photo and its frame will overlay. The frame of the text frame displays but not the text. Only a place cursor is visible.

Check for text wrap on the other objects or alternatively, right click
the text frame and choose text frame options. Enable ignore text wrap.

I know you know a lot more about the internals than I do, Chris, and I hate to be argumentative, but I'm just not seeing the difficulty...
Consider that the text placement code as written today can deal with the following (hastily drawn path).
And as Paulo points out, Photoshop clearly already knows what's "inside" and what's "outside" a complex path.
Emil makes a good point about the readbility suffering if one has to follow it across breaks in the figure...
Still, who's to say whether someone wouldn't come up with a good use for this. Bottom line is this - here you have a user expecting Photoshop to do something that's expected, and it's falling short because of the implementation and not allowing him to express his creativity the way he wants....
This exercise DID bring one new idea to mind possibly for hhtun... Try using a stencil font!
