I have downloaded the latest version of icloud control panel to a PC with Windows 7. My "master" data is always on my PC. With other synch software I always select "One Way Outlook to Device". I synched icloud with Outlook and it has trashed my Outlook with duplicate contacts. Is there a solution. Is there selective synchronisation available?

Make sure you don't have any notes that have no content or subject or this can prevent syncing with Outlook.  If you do, delete them.
If you don't, try unchecking "Mail,Contacts,Calendars & Tasks with Outlook" on the iCloud control panel for Windows, choose Delete at the prompt (the data will still be in iCloud), restart your PC, then go back and check this setting again.  (Your iCloud data will reappear in Outlook after a brief delay as it redownloads.)
Then create a new note on one of your iOS devices and see if it appears in the Notes folder in Outlook mail after a few minutes.

To find the version of Mac OS X on your computer, all you have to do is click the Apple logo and then About this Mac. For more info, take a look at this doc -> Finding your OS X version and build information

    Hi,
I am using your software: CS6 InDesign Suiteon a PC using a Windows 7 operating system.
Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size.  Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
However, in Windows 7, this is not the case.  Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain.  I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small.  How can I make your program increase the size?

CS6 is not high-DPI compatible/ enabled and that can't be changed. If you cannot6 make it work with your operating system means, then short of joining Creative Cloud and using newer versions there is nothing you can do.

  • SQL server(PC1) --- PC2: Login failed. The login is from untrusted domain and cannot be used with windows authentification

    Hey,
    I'want to make connection from my laptop(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = A) to a fixed computer(SQL server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx =B). My connection string = "Provider=SQLNCLI11; Data source:name-pc/SQLEXPRESS; Integrated circuit=SSPI;Intial Catalog=Database name for visual
    studio C#.
    Laptop -> PC1 : Eror
It works when i use localhost or 127.0.0.1 and i can read my database without any problems if i install SQL server on my laptop. Know i install it to PC1 and uninstall on my laptop. When i change the name-pc by an ip-adress i get this error: Login failed.
The login is from untrusted domain and cannot be used with windows authentification. I did some research on multiple forums where they say about Local security policy(secpol.exe) but i don't have this file.
PC2-> PC3: work fine but i want to work with my laptop and i don't understand why it isn't working with my Laptop.
    Can someone help me?
Thx a lot and sry about my english(its a disaster)
    Thibaut

    Hello,
Yes, for the Windows Authentication to work you should be using the same Windows account and password.
Are you willing to create SQL logins inside SQL Server and allow your users to connect to SQL Server using SQL Authentication
instead of Windows Authentication? That could be a solution on a workgroup network.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can run .exe but cannot use .exe file with 64 bit operating system

I built an application in labview (32 bit) in xp. The exe file generated from the labview 2009 is able to function well in windows vista (32 bit). For this i installed run time engine and since my application requires vision tools so i also installed the vision run time engine 2009. The application reads values of a device (from microcontroller) from the virtual com port (through USB).
Now the problem is the .exe cannot response in Windows 7 (64 bit). For this i installed Run Time engine 2009 (for 32 bit) and also vision run time engine. The exe runs but does not read any value from the COM port and does not response any thing.
This is somehow related to 64 bit operating system.
Further to mention, the control input for 'VISA resource name' input of 'Visa Configure Serial Port' block generally detects the COM Port where the device is connected (e.g. COM1, COM2 etc)  and used to display the choices (on drop down menu) but with 64 bit operating system this is not happening.
What could be the possible problem? I would be happy to know if someone has come across this problem or if someone can help me to solve this problem.
Simply i would like to run an .exe application build in 32 bit to run in an operating system of 64 bit. This application has VISA and Vision motion tools.

NI VISA is a software abstraction layer for different physical interfaces (e.g. RS232).
I understood that your application is working with this in order to select and communicate with COM interfaces.
MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) is the tool to configure and test NI drivers, in this case VISA.
So if no COM shows up in MAX, you have a malfunction (or missing) installation of VISA.

  • I have hp touchsmart 310pc with window 7 operating system, recently I download the window 8 system,

I have HP touchsmart 310pc with window 7 operating system, recently i download the window 8 system, but all of my other software came with window 7 gone, like microsoft word, excel, spreedsheet, and games. How can I get them back?

    Hi,
Probably you've done a clean install. Can you see C:\Windows.old folder ? If yes you can roll back to Windows 7 then reinstall Windows 8 using option to keep everything. Otherwise can be a very long, long, long task and can't recover everything.
    Regards.

  • PC Version of Photoshop CS4 Suite on a MAC with Windows Vista Via BootCamp?

Trying to decide wither to give Adobe another $1,400 for a MAC version of their Creative Suite or just use my PC Version on my MacBook Pro and iMac 24".
Either way I am spending money ($350 for Vista Ultimate 64BIT, or $1,400 for the Suite).
Technically I could installed Vista 64 Ultimate under BootCamp, VMFusion or Parallels, and then install my Windows Version of the Adobe Suite I already own and use it on the MAC since you are allowed to have 2 installs on the same Windows OS. I have 1 on a PC and thus would use the other on the MAC.
I wonder however how well Windows and Photoshop in general will play with the MAC via Bootcamp... and will I be able to share files between the Windows OS and MAC OS easily?
Or Should I just let Adobe fully take advantage of me and purchase the MAC platform Version of the exact same software I already own for PC (BTW, I need to keep it on PC as I have to use PC's for certain things and need a PC version).
Its a "$350 Vs $1,400 decision"... I guess I am looking for a little advise from people that might know how Vista64 and CS4 play with bootcamp, Parallels and or VMFusion and what is the best Ultimate option (money aside).

I have the Windows version of CS4 installed in a VMWare Fusion virtual machine (running Windows 7 Ultimate) on my MacBook Pro. While it's not quite as fast or responsive as the native versions I have on the Mac side (I installed the Windows version mostly out of curiosity), it's quite usable.
That being said, you're probably going to be better off using your current Windows versions on your Mac. The reason doesn't have anything to do with the software, but with Adobe. Adobe is a complete mess right now. Their Better Business Bureau rating is currently a D and the BBB recommends caution when dealing with them. They are correct in that. Adobe's Customer Service is worse than useless. They claim they're working on fixing it, but so far, I haven't seen any improvement at all. The went so far as to post a public apology from Lambert Walsh, Adobe's VP of Technical Services, on their website, though that seems to have been removed now. Adobe has always had very poor service, but in the past couple of years, it's gone from bad to horrible. You can indeed switch your license from Windows to Mac. I did it a little over 3 years ago (you're allowed to switch 5 times in a lifetime) and it took many hours on the phone (dropped calls, failure to call me back, endless time on hold) and 4 lost faxes before it finally worked. I understand things are much worse now; take a look at the forums on Adobe's website: http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/adobedotcom_feedback

  • Is the academic version of Adobe Photoshop the same as the regular version?

I'm a college student and I really want Adobe Photoshop. I'd much rather pay $300 for the academic version than pay $1000. But is the academic version the same as the regular version?

I just browsed the Adobe forums to see what information was being given there, since CS3 has just come out. It appears that the policy I remember (I upgraded from the academic versions of Photoshop 3 and After Effects 3.1, so it's been a while) is still in effect.
Basically, a qualifying student can either purchase a new academic product, or purchase the commercial upgrade. There are no academic "upgrades", per se.
It may actually be cheaper for a student to re-purchase the full academic copy than to purchase the commercial upgrade. Someone who no longer qualifies as a student needs to purchase the commercial upgrade, of course.

  • Windows 7 operating system won't load Photoshop CS2?

tried adobe support. They said I have to upgrade to Photoshop 3 or 4 unless you have a s

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try booting into Safe Mode. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
If this works you will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out. If Safe Mode doesn't work for you, post back and we will explore other options.
