Since the OP refers to "...my hub with 2 printers..." I'm wondering if he is referring to the new square 802.11n AEBS which supports USB drives and printers.

Just bought the SX50 HS Digital camera....Canon tells me i need to buy the FA-DC67A Adapter required to use 67mm filters. The cANON website shows only three filters...
1) FA-DC67A ADAPTER $25.00
2) 67mm PL-CB polarizer $390.00
3) 67mm UV PROTECTOR $ $85.00
I also have a Canon AE1 PROGRAM with 52mm. Anyway to use these old filters with this new camera?

I've seen combo filters like a polarizing, UV, and Skylight filter, do they make this, or would i have to buy separate UV, A skylight, or a polarizing filter?

With the Filter Adapter FA-DC67A, you may attach 67mm filters of all types.
In order to use the smaller 52mm filter, you'd need to locate an adapter.

iChat/AIM is seldom used here in Europe. It's all MSN here i'm afraid. Is there software that we can use to videochat with MSN-users? What other videoconferencing software works with the build-in iSight?

Hi,
The External iSight camera has a 640 X 480 pixel picture as do the early internal ones.
Later versions of the iSight camera have 1.3mp resolutions and the latest are HD.
However iChat only sends a max size or 640 X 480 picture and that is dependent on your Processor and Internet Speed. (And to some extent that of your Buddies)
Using a Stills camera was a web cam can present some problems.
It is mainly about what input the computer accepts and what the camera has as output.
I have an older Kodak DC4800
In addition to the USB Output for transferring pics it has a RCA pin type socket that output TV signals which the camera software can change between NTSC and PAL.
I then used a DV Converter to input that over FireWire to the computer.
For iChat this had to be converted to DV as it only accepts DV or certain USB web cam formats that the Mac then converts for iChat (effectively it digitizes the pic).
My camera did not take Video it just had the Ability to output what the camera saw - basically you could use a TV as a super sized Viewfinder.
If the camera you have has FireWire and it can do video then you maybe in luck (It will still depend if the Video format is DV (not mpeg, not HDV or any other format such as AVI)
If the Video it may do can be sent of USB that will need to be USB 2.0
Again the format will need to be the type that iChat uses (or the OS software converts).
For most Stills cameras this is impossible.

Ipad2 can not recognize Canon digital camera EOS?

I connect my digital camera, Canon EOS to Ipad 2 through camera USB kits, and message shows " Cannot USE Device The connected USB device is not supported" on iPad 2 screen. Is it a known issue? I thought the camera kits should be good for all type of digital camera. Any suggestion? Thank you

The first article Allan provided includes a note about the format of the card in your camera. If the card was not formatted in the camera, an error message like yours might be generated.
I have an EOS camera that appears to be compatible with the iPad's Camera Connection Kit. I also have another Canon, two Sonys, a Pentax and an old Olympus camera. So far, all appear to be compatible.
If Allan's links don't provide a solution, your best bet may be to use a Compact Flash - to - USB adapter with the Camera Connection Kit. I have one that works, but also have a "universal" multi-card adapter that draws too much current. To use it, I have to connect it through a powered USB hub.

Why can't I hide Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01

I don't have an SLR camera. I have an iPhone. Usually when I see RAW updates I right click them to hide the update because I don't need them.
However when I right click and hide the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01 it doesn't go away.
I finally just bit the bullet and updated my system but what a waste of space, time, bandwidth, etc.

Can I use my digital camera as a webcam?

i know my computer has built in isight but its very limited to movement and angles, i was wondering if there is any way i can use my cannon powershot a610 as webcam? thanks!

Even if the camera can take video, I don't think so. This is because the camera has been programmed to save video and pictures to the memory card. Besides, even if you could export the video being recorded, I don't think any of the iMac's applications that use iSight will recognize the camera as a webcam.

Can the Mac record digital cable TV?

My digital cable box (Scientific Atlanta - Explorer 3250HD) has two Firewire ports on the back. When I connect it to my Mac mini with a Firewire cable, the cable box shows up in the System Profiler. Is it possible to use the Mac mini to record TV shows digitally using the Firewire cable?

Can IXOS (OPENTEXT) handle digitally signed PDF documents

Hi All,
we have requirement where we want to store digitally signed PDF documents in IXOS (OPENTEXT) server and view them using IXOS viewer. I have tried to save one digitally sighed PDF but it was also password protected and I was not able to open it with the IXOS live link opener.
Request you to share your experience or views on this.

Can the simulator handle multi-touches?

I know the simulator can handle taps, single touches, drags and pinches with the option key. But is it possible to simulate multiple touches during a event, like three simultaneous touches?

Great idea, but, no, it doesn't seem to work. I have a macbook pro, but it's about a year old. It doesn't support pinching, but I know it supports multitouch, because I use it for sideways scrolling. Interestingly, the simulator does seem to recognize if I'm using two fingers, because it behaves differently using two fingers than one finger. But, it doesn't simulate multitouch. This would be a great feature enhancement to the simulator though. But, one thing they'll never be able to simulate is the accelerometer.

Can the MIni handle graphic/web design?

I was wondering if the Mac mini was enough to use as a computer for web design. I mainly plan to use Adobe software (Dreamweaver, photoshop, etc.). What configurations should I get if it is giid enough to use? I was thinking about just getting the base model then adding 2g ram and a large external hard drive. Would that work?

I run Photoshop and Dreamweaver on systems far older and slower than a Mac mini (also on a G4 mini) and they run perfectly well, so there is no reason to believe an Intel mini would not run such software admirably well.
It is worth adding however that for versions of software written for PPC systems (G3, G4 and G5 based Macs) it would be wise to ensure that you have more, rather than less, memory in the system since while the software will run, it requires an on-the-fly translator to do so. This translator, Rosetta, is built-in to MacOS so there is nothing to add to enable it's use, but it is a bit of a memory hog in itself and in a Mac mini, maxing out the RAM to 2Gb allows it to run reasonably well. Added to Photoshop's need for lots of memory and hard drive space to run efficiently, and a base model mini with 2Gb RAM and a fast external drive should be able to handle the task well.
It's easy to mistake the mini's size as an indication of it's power, performance and capabilities, but it is a remarkably powerful system. In terms of processing alone, the base model is not far off the performance levels of the fully professional Macs of very recent years - many of which are still in active service doing extensive work in publishing, design, image and video editing and production, web authoring and much more.

Can the N8 handle FPU (floating point unit) apps?

I've come across a few apps that have an FPU version which, for devices which can handle it, offers greater performance over standard (non-FPU) version. I've seen mentioned that the E73, N95 8GB and 5800XM can handle FPU, but can't find anything said about whether the N8 can handle FPU or not. Any ideas? I can't find any instrument/chromatic tuners that have been developed specifically for S^3, so am looking at S60 versions, such as "Chromatic Tuner v0.25".

I'm sorry, but neither of you have actually answered my question. I know most S60v5 apps will work with S^3...that's not what I asked! I'm asking about apps that have been writen for devices that can manage FPU (floating point unit operations)

Did you use the very same camera on either Mac or just the same model? When my Mac (also G5 1.8 Dual, though the earlier spring model) had problems recognizing my Sony, it was a question of setting the USB mode on the camera: E.G. my camera allow to set its USB mode to either Normal or PTP, the PTP setting caused problems at times, though its too long to tell, of which nature they were. May be woth a try
