Can the Apogee Jam be used for vocals?

HI,
I am looking at the Apogee Jam for a simple interface for my guitar... I would like to record some vocals and have an XLR ro 1/4" adapter. Does anyone know if I could plug this into the Apgogee Interface?
I would like to assume the answert is yes, but I am wondering if would cause issues as the Jam was intended for guitar and bass.

Could this work, sure the Jam just takes a analog signal and turns it into a digital signal.
Will it work, all depends on the mic you use.. I'm guessing with most microphones the signal will be very week and may not give you good results.
You should get a interface that is designed for both instrument and mic. And if you get a two channel interface you could record both guitar and vocal to their own track at the same time.

Is the gift card from the same country you're in? For example, i don't think I can use a canadian iTUnes card on an account in the US.
It's also possible that the gift card wasn't properly activated.

In iCal, I have a Reminder list named "Home". I have been trying to also give a Calendar the name "Home", but iCal does not seem to want me to do this. When I try to use the name Home for a Calendar, it changes it to the name "Home C" (a name that I gave it when I couldn't get it to let me use "Home"). Is this a restriction within iCal? I have iCal synched with iCloud, which in turns syncs with an app called 2Do on my iPhone. I am not sure if that may be part of the problem.

hi, i want to be able to change what area the player goes to when they press the journey button. but the code i made can only display one message, and that is, "you journey on..."
i want to be able , for each button press, to move the player forward to a new area, is that possible? here is the code so far.

Ofcourse its possible. Maybe you wanna consider using an specific actionlistener for the journey button instead of using the common actionlistener.

Can the Time Capsule be used for scanner sharing?

I have successfully replaced my Linksys router with the Time Capsule and also hooked it to my USB HP 2200 all-in-1 printer. Works great except I can't get my wireless iMac or MacBook to see the HP all-in-1 as a scanner. The "network" printing works great via the TC.
Has anyone successfully integrated with a USB scanner yet?

I have this exact same problem, but only with a different printer/scanner (I even switched from a Linksys router). My printer is the Epson RX595, and as you stated, I can also print wirelessly to it from both my MacBook Pro and PC (connected wirelessly and via ethernet to the TC respectively). Now everywhere I've read is pretty much pointing to the "USB scanning not fully supported with TC", but I was wondering if Apple or Epson would have a solution for this in the future as I bought my printer not too long ago and don't want to have to upgrade just yet. I really want to keep it connected to my TC, since my PC doesn't have to stay on to act as a print server (previous setup).

Can I use mainstage 2 with the apogee jam?

I've been looking at getting Logic Pro with mainstage then realised I can get mainstage as a stand alone.
Most of the videos I have watched online for it though people are using the Apogee Gio but can it be used with the apogee jam? I want to use it for the looping track with a guitar mainly and wondered if this could be done with the jam as the gio is about £270 to buy.
I would be using it on an iMac so don't know if that makes any difference either?

Yup, the Jam is just a singel channel audio interface (actually- audio in only).
So if you want to simply record your guitar- or just use MS2 as an effects unit- you are good to go.
The GIO would be more overkill- but does give you pedals that work out of the box with Logic/MS.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

You should be able to find a Mac OSX driver for that printer. Did you check with the manufacturer/'s website?

Hello again. When I said PSE 12 was an upgrade on CS2, I meant that simply from an informal point of view - and it is: it's better software in most respects. In expert mode, the features and functions are much the same as in the CS2 I had before, but enhanced and slicker. Less 16 bit colour depth and a few other things of course. Unfortunately, as it now transpires, the "few other things" has turned out to include the measuring feature.
Thanks for the work-around - only problem is ... to what Info Panel are you referring when using the line tool? I've looked around but can't see the line length being shown anywhere. Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to cast on it.
Incidentally, I upgraded my written-off Canon D5 MK II with a D6. To me it's an upgrade - it's a much better camera - though by the letter of the law, the strict upgrade path would be to a 5D MK III. One can use the word "upgrade" in this informal (but entirely meaningful) sense, I hope, without being sent to prison!!
