My 4 year old son decided to help charge my daughters 2nd gen iPod by shoving the lightening connector into the port over and over damaging and flattening all the pins. Is there anyway to replace the charging port? Or will apple fix it if I take it to an apple store? How much?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Apple does not repair devices at all.
As stated, you can elect to find a local repair shop to do the work, but understand that Apple does not sell parts either.
Alternatively, you can choose to do an Out of Warranty replacement via Apple and get a 90 day warranty on the replacement device.
Another option would be to replace the device with a more current model.

The port can fail. Internal boards can fail. Batteries can fail. All with the result that no charging occurs.
You can try Resetting the System Management Controller and you can try Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters.
But usually you will have to take the mac in to a service place for testing. It can get expensive, although occasionally it is not.

I am upgrading from Traditional DAQ to DAQmx on an old installation with a PXI-6508 board.
I struggle with this reset problem.
I read the post from NI "Archived: PCI DIO-96/PXI 6508/PCI 6503 Digital Ports cannot be Controlled Independently".
This post states:
"NI-DAQmx is expected to work around this issue by resetting the other ports of the 8255 to the last known state.This means that the other ports may momentarily be reset, but will return to their previously set values."
Does anyone can confirm that this is true?
I notice that e.a. port 11 is reset when I write to port 10, but the values of port 11 are not set to the last value I had written to it.

I haven't been able to get a clear answer on this. I believe the 1st generation would act as WAN/LAN depending on setting, but what happens with the 2nd generation?

If the Express joins a wireless network wirelessly, in other words its WAN port isn't connected to anything, the correct way to connect a wired client to it is by using its LAN port.
I don't know what would happen if you were to connect a wired client to its WAN port instead — it's just not supposed to be used for that purpose. It won't permanently break anything if you were to try it though. If you were, the worst that would occur is that your network would become unresponsive as packets continuously traverse its WAN port in a circular fashion, which might require that you power down your router to reset your whole network.
If you are already using your Express's LAN port and you need another, the way to provide more ports is to purchase an inexpensive ($10 or so) switch. Connect it to the LAN port and as many other pieces of equipment as the switch's available number of ports.
You're correct about the first generation with the single Ethernet port. It could be used in either capacity depending on its configuration.

I use mic only when working in Sony Vegas and other Sony programs. I'd like to know if I can use proessional Mic with the new iMac and with the old Macbook Pro, probably by connecting it through audio-in port, maybe there is a way to transform it through the settings on the Mac into Mic-in?

Can't Change Port number on Mail account settings

I am trying to use Mac mail to read my .mac email. I can recieve messages but can't send them.
I have isolated the problem to the port number which is 993. The problem is I can't change it to 25 or to 587 which is what .mac recommends. If I uncheck "use ssl" the port number changes to 143 but I still can't change it.
I have tried every possible way to change the port but it will not allow me.

You are trying to change the wrong port setting. Those you are describing are related to Incoming Servers and are changed in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced -- those are NOT what you want.
Instead click open Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information, and click on the arrows beside the name of the Outgoing Server, then choose Edit Server List, and then select the Advanced tab and the smtp.mac.com there. You can then change to Port 587, for example.

SRW224G4 - Can't change port to PVE groupings

I have a Linksys SRW224G4. Two PVE groups are in use. However I can't change which PVE group a port is assigned to. The option to change the group is there but ghosted out and can't be selected.
I downloaded the user manual but it describes a web interface that looks slightly different than mine. For example it tells me to go to the Setup tab but I don't seem to have a Setup tab.

I have finished installing oracle database 10g, infrastructure 10g and BI 10g in one machine ,but after installation i found that the infrastructure use the same port 1521 of the database, and as a result the application server services not working like Forms, OC4j_bi_forms and report , so, how can change the port number after installation and how can i pass this problem during the installation??

actually after i installed the db10g and developer 10g and when I start the installation of the infrastructure I get the following message (that telling me that the port 1521 on my host is used by another product and if this port is being used by Oracle Network Service listener version 9.0.1 or higher, may I elect to continue the installation) , so I decide to continue the installation but after that I noticed that not all the oracle application server service not started and when I start forms as example may be the OC_4j_bi get down, and so onâ¦ and when I discuss this issue with another DBA he told me that this problem because of the using of the same port.
Finally i would like to solve this problem by any case even if i re-install the S/W again, but i'm afarid that i face the same problems.

Can the Com port on the EX90 be connecting to an AMX NI700 to receive command?

if so, what are the pinouts for the EX90? (TX/RX/GND) The AMX uses pin 3 for TX, Pin 2 for RX and Pin 5 for GND. I have been using an RJ45 cable and trying to match pins but I am still not getting a TX signal. Also, does the COM port need to be enabled?

The EX90 is not really build to be controlled by an additional control system.
(in general thats a thing for the integrator prodcucts).
The Serial port is not a RS232 (+/-25 Volt), instead of their using TTL level.
So a direct connection without a proper cable might cause a hardware fault!
I think the serial port was on by default, but that might have changed on the current software versions, thats what works fine for me:

The serial port is also on the bottom of the device, its ok to use it if you need to
troubleshoot boot issues, but besides that not really usable.

controling the system with a 3rd party control.
Btw, what I would strongly recommenced is to use the telnet/ssh cli or http(s) API.

User had maint. the Cond. record in MN04 as for Com. code --> with Option - 5 email and Dispatch time as 4 , but as the P.o created then in Message tab the Cond. record populated as --> 5 External email and Dispatch time -3 (send with own trxn ), also i hd selected the output message line n click on Further data tab , new screen opens , here there is no tick on Manually ? Locked , this indicates that there is no any changes done in output in this P.O, but this also implies that what ever the cond. are created in MN04 , the same cond. are populated in this P.O, but user says that -> the cond record was maint. as with Option - 5 ( email) and Dispatch time as 4( Send immediately).Either the user is lying that the cond had maint correctly but may be the real situation could be that user might have created the cond with option --> 5 External email and Dispatch time -3 (send with own trxn ) and same is populated in this p.o created .
Here my question is that can we check that whatever the changes be carried out for that Co. code in trxn MN05 , is it possible to see those changes that on which date these changes were done , we have to convice this to user.

a condition table is a customer table. if you want monitor changes made to records in such tables, then you have to prepare this in SE11 Go to Transaction SE11, enter table name and then click on 'Change' icon. In the next screen, click on 'Technical Settings' icon, the 'Log Data Change' indicator is located at the end of the screen.
of course this works only for changes made to conditions after this setting has been made.

Yes it can. NO idea how it'll work in India but I believe APple's policies are world wide. Replacement costs start at $249 and goes up depending on the model. What you're really paying for is a reduced cost to replace your broken one with a refurbished one.
I'd look for authorized repair shops in your area (the 'contact us' link on the lower right of this page goes to a page with phone numbers and links to world wide authorized repair places) and go from there.
Non-authorized ones will be cheaper but if you use one of those you will void any remainder of your factory warranty.
