Can the Hot Sync Log be cleared?

Zire 31, Desktop 6.4, Vista Business-32 bit, and Outlook 2007.
Can the log be cleared? I keep getting the same error message about some calendar entries, but the entries are correct in the handheld and in Outlook on the PC.

Jollyware , If refresh does not work then try this:
Go to your Homehub advanced settings / Home Network tab.
Under Wireless Connections : left click on an item you want to delete , and you should get an option to delete, at bottom of the page.
Downside of this is you will need to do this for each enrty.
PS ... there might be a bug on your homehub cos refresh works ok on mine. Its a HH2b

Cannot find Hot Sync Log File

I recently installed Palm dsktop on my new Vista PC. It synchs very well with my TX via bluetooth, BUT whenever there is a Hot Sync Log Message I get an error message saying that the PC cannot find the Hot Sync Log. I searched for this file on my PC but it cannot be found anywhere. I am using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser. Is there a solution to this?

Ever since I moved, I can't Hot Sync my VIIx

Hi,
I have a Palm VIIx which I use mostly as an address book. I went to use it after a while of inactivity during the time that I was moving. I found the batteries had died and when I replaced them and tried to Hot Sync again it would Sync. I think the last successful Sync was in January or so. It was maybe two months before I tried again, and I just thought the problem was the software on my USB Serial cable (I have a laptop so I had to buy a separate cable to link the Hot Sync port to my computer). I haven't been able to find my original software for the extra cable, but today my husband found a way to search and reload the cable software and the installation was supposedly successful. When I try to sync, however, I am still getting the following error message:
"The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."
Does anyone have any suggestions?

How can I hot sync with Windows 7,

do I need a upgrade download ..??? I have not use windows 7 before I can hot sync on XP but not on my new laptop with Window 7

Can the launchd-shutdown.log tell why a Mac is hanging at shutdown?

Hi,
I was wondering if the launchd-shutdown.log can tell a developer the reason a Mac is hanging at shutdown. I hva bee having an itermittent hanged shutdown issue since installing Mac OS X Lion and there is no indicator on why this is happening.

You might also check the hangreporter logs, though you'll need to be in an admin account for that.

I found something interesting, there are some strings that says the followning:
Exited while shutdown in progress. Processes remaining: 40/1

What does the entry above mean?
Most of the shutdown log says the "Exited x.xxxxxx seconds after the first signal was sent" string.
I have another question are those strings related to the process that could be hanging the computer?
I will take another look later tonight.

Can the usb sync/power cable that came with the iPhone 3g and 4 handle the 2.1 amps drawn by the ipad 2 (if used with the 10w plug) without risk of overheating?

I recently made the mistake of buying a cheap sync cable from a well known auction site becuase I wanted a longer cable than comes in the box for my ipad 2.
Whilst my iPad will sync OK, it takes an age to charge (using the standard 10w plug in the wall). I don't fully understand the science in the cables, but assume it is not a big enough cable to handle the current/2.1 amps?.
If like house wire you send too much current through a cable that is to small for the job it risks overheating and causing a fire.
Does this same principle apply to the iPad power lead?
Anyway back to the question, can I use other leads I have hanging around the house from my previous iphones and ipods to charge my ipad (again still using the 10w plug in the wall) or will the cable in these be too small to handle the 2.1 amps required by the ipad?
I don't want to risk overheating the cables and causing a short to break my beloved iPad 2...!

Not sure they entirely answer my question though.
I have used my different cables and can see that they are actually working (charging and syncing etc), but am i using old cable that was not intended to draw 2.1 amps and so may overheat and cause damage in the long run?
Or did apple deliberately over engineer the original cables which were only needed to supply 1 amp and they can actually be used to draw 2.1 amps comfortably?
Whilst the 30 pin connectors and usb points are identical, is the internal cable thickness/awg gauge the same?

Can't Hot Sync Calendar

For quite some time now I have been unable to sync the calendar info from my handheld to my desktop. I have removed the softwareand reloaded 4.14 and 6.2 several times but to no avail. The sync breezes through until it gets to calendar. I've even let it go for over anhour at a time and it just never finishes. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Ok, first we need to see if you can sync without calendar checked. On your computer right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. We are going to set calendar to do nothing and check the box that says set as default. Close up the menus and try to hotsync if it syncs fine good continue on.
Next we need to install a program on to your device called DBFixit (here's the link http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm) Download this file on the right side of the page. Then install the application to the device. Once on the device open it up and tap on the blue bar but in the top left select delete calendar blobs and say OK or yes. Then keep running that till you have 0 listed or no blobs found. Then we are going to hotsync with calendar syncing from the device to the PC. Again right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. Then select handheld overwrites desktop. Sync and post back if that fixed the issue.
If it did then we need to change the sync to sync the files and set that as default. To do that, again right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. Then select sync the files and set as default box checked. You should be all set at that point.

TUNGSTEN E Had to be reinstalled, now my display/resolution on my monitor has changed to fuzzy and I can't hot sync any longer

Due to a system crash, I had to reinstall my software for my Tungsten E. I've tried a few times using my disk, tried a couple of times getting the download from Palm, but each time I reinstall the software, the display on my computer's monitor changes the icons to fuzzy instead of the way they were, and the colors of all the other graphics have completely changed as well. It now it won't sync up to Outlook as it did before. Does any one know why this would be happening? The only difference I can come up with from before my system crashed to after the crash is Internet Explorer 7 to 8.

I had a complete data loss on my Zire 72s due to battery drain. I have the palm desktop back ups on a pc Windows vista and mac os 10. I reset the device and now cannot get it to identify the desktop user account to sync and can't seem to find a way to add the same user name to the handheld.
Any information, steps to help me out would be great so I can get the info back onto my zire.
p.s. I also lost my solitaire game and where I can download this app again would be welcome as well.

Can the ipad sync contacts to a droid x

I would like to know if you can sync contact info to a droid x phone.

If you have your contacts in a Gmail account and youngest up the Gmail account as an Exchange account on your iPad and it's the same Gmail account you're using on your Droid, the contacts will all stay in sync.

Can the phone sync from Exchange and from a Mac?

For work, I'll want my outlook mail, contacts and appointments, but I'd also like to have my personal contacts and appointments show up in the phone - syching off my macbook at home. Any idea if I can sych both?

I just posted a similar question. My brother syncs both, exchange from work, and using mobile me for personal. All pushed to the phone.

Hello, I have a Intel mac book pro and a G4 mac pro. I authorized the iphone on my mac book pro and want to use it with my G4 tower I get a OxE000004 error when I try to sync with itunes to down load my podcasts at work on my G4.

That's interesting. I wonder why it works for me? I was very surprised when it did, I must say. But here's a possiblity: the computer where I sync the videos is my wife's (wanted to get her demo reel and commercials and they weren't on my computer) and she has NO music on her computer. The computer where I sync my music is MY computer, and I DO have videos set to sync to my iPod and a bunch of music, and the computer where I sync my contacts, calendar and email accounts is at work where I don't have any music or videos.
I just sat down at work here and synced my calendar and I still have only 100MB of free space. Last night, I left it plugged into my computer, and I still see the videos that I synced from my wife's computer on it.

How can the first syncing after launching Contribute be sped up?

So a user brings up Contribute and it hangs there 2 or 3 minutes syncing. Is there anyway to speed this process up?

There has never been a facetime app on the iphone.
As the manual says, you access from contacts. Pick a contact and scroll down to the facetime button

Can't hot sync - M130 with Windows XP

Have an old Palm M130. Works fine, and was just using it for printing out agenda (hard copy), and phone numbers. Was hooked to my laptop and everyting was a-ok (hotsync was working fine). Want to install it on my desktop, but it's not synchronizing: "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again". That's the error message that I get.
Checked EVERYTHING - cable, usb port, etc.. etc... Using Windows XP. Downloaded all versions from the web site, but seems like I would need something else? The only thing that I haven't checked (and don't have the CD anymore) is Pocket Mirror. This could probably work, using it with Microsoft Outlook (which I did with my old laptop...). I don't want ending up paying 30$$$+ just to see it it might actualy work or not...
