Can the hp compaq 6735s charging port be repaired

hi all
please i need a hardware specialist who is conversant to the HP compaq 6735s AMD sempron 1gig ram notebook
to help me on this one
my laptop recently stopped charging
it will only blink several times when you try to put it on
i tried a working ac adapter from another laptop of same model
but it still did not work.
then i charged the battery with a laptop of same model and inserted back to my laptop
and the laptop powered on but still cannot be charged through the charging port
i was told the charging port is bad.
please is it possible to change the charging port of the hp compaq 6735s without changing the entire motherboard
or do i have to buy another motherboard entirely cos someone said it is not possible...
thanks i really appreciate all your help

It is possible but requires fine soldering and removing (not replacing) the motherboard. You remove the old power jack module and solder a new one in place. There are many shops on the internet that will do the job for $100-150US. Post back if you want more help.

my iphone wont charge can the charging port be replaced or repaired

Apple does not repair devices at all.
As stated, you can elect to find a local repair shop to do the work, but understand that Apple does not sell parts either.
Alternatively, you can choose to do an Out of Warranty replacement via Apple and get a 90 day warranty on the replacement device.
Another option would be to replace the device with a more current model.

  • Can the 3G shuffle be charged with an iPod charger?

I have a friend who would like to use his iPod 3G shuffle when he does not have access to his MacBookPro. Can an iPod shuffle be charged with an iPod charger with the USB socket?

    YES!

  • Can the USB cord and charging plug be used interchangeably between iPad Air and Pad mini?

I have a new iPad air and a new iPad mini. Both seem to have the same white USB cable, but the charging plug adapters are different sizes. Can they be used interchangeably with each other? In other words, can I use the Air adapter to charge the Mini without a problem and vice versa?

The charger that comes with the iPad Air is 12 watts while the one that comes with the standard mini is 5 watts. As Kappy mentioned, the higher wattage charger (12 watt) can be used with both. If you try to use the 5 watt charger with the iPad Air, you'll likely get a Not Charging message. It may still charge but it will be very slow and it's not really recommended.
The cables themselves are identical, no issue there.

  • Charging port needing repair?

What does it mean when I plug in my cord (Not apple cord, bought from Wal-Mart) and it wont charge unless i press really hard against the iTouch? Does this mean that my charging port needs to be replaced? Or just that I'm using a bad cord? (Cord was bought in September of last year.) It will charge if placed on an iHome though, so this is why I am confused.

Ok. Well, I bought it in september of last year, and I'm not sure I have the receipt. But thank you for your help!~

  • HT1380 Can the Apple Universal Dock charge the 3rd generation iPod?

At the time it could only be charged with the FireWire charger.

Will the new Lightning to 30 pin adapter be required & will it work in the Universal dock?
    Not without the appropriate adapter.

  • Can the latest iPad be charged in Europe using only an adapter?

I'm taking my iPad to Europe and wonder if it has a built-in converter so that I don't need a converter, but only an adapter. Thanks.

Correct, you just need a plug adapter to make the prongs fit the outlet.  The charger itself is autosensing/autoswitching for the different voltage.
P.S. all iOS devices and Apple laptop charges have been this way for years.

  • Can the end of a MagSafe connector be repaired without replacing the whole power adapter?

I'm so frustrated with Apple's support.  I'm trying to keep my temper in check as I write this.  I go online to try and find out, if the tip of a MacBook Air power adapter can be replaced.  They eventually become frayed because of the rubber compound they use doesn't hold up with accidential crimping.  The rubber splits.  We have five MacBooks in this house, none older than four year, two are about a year old, and two of the five became frayed after use, and are out of warranty.  (I'm not going to scam on Apple and say the old one is the new.)  We've also purchased additional power adapters so it's hard to say which are which but safe to say the frayed are older than a year.  Both are the newer L connector MagSafe 1.  I went to Apple support, and after a few questions, you first have to type in a serial number, so I guess which laptop and type in the number.  It then says "sorry you're out of warranty, do you want to spend $19.95 to get your question answered?"  I just want to know, yes or no, can it be fixed by Apple and what do they charge and they want to charge me just to ask the question.  How incredibly dumb to make a power adapter that doesn't have a chord you can just easily replace!  Does anyone here know the $19.95 answer?

Patching together an electrical lead with solder and heatshrink is not condusive to a lasting and aesthetically pleasing solution.
    .... its also dangerous

  • Pins in the charging port being defective?

I'm having a problem with the pins in my charging port.  I have not abused this phone, yet I'm being told that that only way the pins could be broken is because the phone has been mishandled.  I've had phones and smart phones for 21 years. I have never had this problem.  I am told that it's not under warranty.  Something is fishy.

No need to worry batman3cars! We would love to help out today. What seems to be occuring with your charging port? Please share some details, thanks!

  • DOES THE 1 YEAR Warranty cower a broken charger port

hi i accidently broke my ipod charger port. i made a dumb mistake and forced the wrong end or side of the charger cord into the port and the the port is now bent .
i tried to bend it back and it broke. i want to know if it is covered by the one year warranty even though it was my fault. If it is covered would it be fixed or replaced.
    thank you.

If you are the cause why your charger port has been broken, then the warranty will not cover it.

  • IPhone 5 charging port has gold strips sticking up inside it, and now it won't charge

I dropped my phone in the toilet yesterday, and it half submerged into the water (the water reached just beneath the sim card slot). I took it out of the toilet immediately and pressed down the lock button and slid it to power off. I then put it in a bowl full of rice (standing upright so no water inside could make it's way up to the top part of the phone). After 16 hours I turned it on and it worked perfectly fine, no damage at all (very lucky). However when it died and I went to charge it I realised a bit of rice was stuck inside the charging port. So with a clip I kept jabbing at the piece of rice until I got it out. Now I've come to charge it and it won't work. When I shine a flashlight into it I can see there are gold strips sticking up instead of them being pushed down into the phone. I think this happened from accidently pulling some up with the clip. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? How much will apple charge to repair the charging port?
-the water sensor indicator inside the sim tray is still completely white, and inside the headphone jack and charging port I can't see any indicators at all
-the phone is 5 months old on a 2 year contract with 3
If you have any idea's or solutions please leave them below, thanks!

Yes, you probably destroyed the connector with your probing. Apple will replace the phone for $269. Unless you can convince them it should be covered by warranty (and your warranty is still in effect). If it is out of warranty an independent repair shop may be able to replace the lightning connector.

  • New charging port not working

I recently have been having problems with my iPhone 5 charging port. I bought a replacement off amazon ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Headphone-Charging-Connector-Replacement/dp/B00E Y9RMTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407765309&sr=8-1&keywords=iphone+5+charging+port ) and followed a video guide to replace it. Now that it is in, the speaker, home button, charging port and microphone aren't working. Could this be a problem with the replacement part or a problem with how i have installed it?
    Thanks

Probably a problem with the install, Iphones are not meant to be user serviceable, and it voids all future support from Apple.
and unfortunately, you have no one to blame but yourself.
    Sorry, Good luck.

  • My Macbook Pro will not charge. I have tried other charges and nothing. Can the MagSafe port go bad? Is that expensive to repair?

My Macbook Pro will not charge. I have tried other charges and nothing. Can the MagSafe port go bad? Is that expensive to repair?

The port can fail. Internal boards can fail. Batteries can fail. All with the result that no charging occurs.
You can try Resetting the System Management Controller and you can try Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters.
But usually you will have to take the mac in to a service place for testing.  It can get expensive, although occasionally it is not.

Go to the Music section of your Library (very top-left corner) and see if your songs are there. The "Purchased" playlist may have been deleted or gotten corrupted, but if that happens it's not a big deal because your music should still be in your main Music Library.
If your music is NOT in the Music section of your Library, then go to the iTunes Store homepage and find the Quick Links list on the right side. At the top of that list, click Purchased and you can redownload all of your previous content that you might have lost.

Unknown Error containing "0xE" when restoring
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting. If you have a Windows computer with an Intel® 5 series/3400 series chipset, you may need updates for your chipset drivers. See iTunes for Windows: Issues syncing iOS devices with P55 and related Intel Chipsets for more information.
