For example, Mac mini <--> external SSD <--> apple cinema display 30" (using miniDisplay port adaptor plugged into the SSD's second thunderbolt port)

Can I trick the Mac under Bootcamp as OS to use HDMI for the monitor? Dell officially says that the monitor can only accept 1900x1080 over HDMI, but some have fiddled wth different computers with custom settings that worked with some Monitors but mostly under Linux and to Dell 2711.
The MacMini HDMI port is hardware limited to 1980x1200.

How can I write to multiple daisy-chained network serial addresses through a single COM port?

I have a VI to write to 3 PI Mercury motor controllers using daisy chained RS232 connected via a Prolific USB-to-Serial adapter. I know that it is possible to talk to the individual controllers because the PI terminal that I have recognises the addresses of multiple controllers and designates them Device 1,2,3. The VISA resource name when configuring the port just comes up as COM5 most of time, with seemingly no way to specify an address on that COM port. Occasionally the VISA resource is ASRL5::INSTR and as this is disconnected and re-connected, this address moves up a number (e.g ASRL7::INSTR). Can anybody tell me how I can configure my serial communication to allow me to individually communicate with the different devices through a single COM port?

What does the manual say about addressing? RS-232 is not multidrop, the resource name is correct, and there is no additional configuration needed. There would have be a specific write in order to address a certain controller.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the footer from the fill able forms created using Adobe FormsCentral.

When interactive pdf opens in browser window can the pdf links open in separate windows

Problem is the pdf works ok when it opens in the browser window, BUT the links in the pdf don't open in separate browser windows, as they do when the pdf is downloaded as a file.
If pdf links can only open in separate browser window when the pdf itself opens as a separate file, the how do I email a pdf download link on a website.

you can open PDFs as a guest user (without authentification):
1. Allow Guest Access (Admin -> Security Configuration -> Check "Allow Guest Access" and select a folder name).
2. Copy your Report into this guest folder
3. You can open the Report as PDF with a link like this:
http://(bip-server-name):9704/xmlpserver/(guest-folder-name)/(report-name)/(report-name).xdo?_xpt=0&_xf=pdf&_xmode=4(&report-parameters)

I didn't find an option to set the height of the PDF-Output for the guest user in the BIP-UI. Maybe I missed something. But you can manually edit the configuration file. It is located on your BIP server direcory in the subdirectory xmlp/XMLP/Users. Select the guest users subdirectory and edit the configuration file "user~.profile".
In this XML config file there is an entry "viewerHeight". In the Value-Tag you can enter the PDF output windows height in pixel (but unfortunaly not in % - this was the question of my original posting).

I have a web form with the save function, which works well until another person is required to complete a part of the form. Can the form link be sent to others?

Some respondents need to save it part way through and send the form on to someone else to complete a section. When they send the link the other people dont seem able to see the form with the content previously completed, rather a blank form opens up. Can this be fixed? if so how?

thanks. We are having continuing problems - after 45 mins on to adobe help, the only suggestion given is to try a different browser. unsurprisingly this does not work! I am using the email received - which has the 'retrieve form' box attached. One user was able to save it once, went back later did some more, and saved (or so she thought) when she went back again, it was totally empty!
I have had really mixed results - some have used the form with no problem, whilst others have reported the same issue (using various browsers). Any suggestions..... (i set 28 days, as the time to keep open, and all are within this time frame).

Set up a seperate PC user account on your PC and use that for yourself or your wife. The iTunes library is associated with the PC user account.

The last three Java updates installed Jave Console extensions that won't uninstall using the supplied "removing addons" document. Java offers no help. How can I remove them?

In firefox 3.6.13 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit with WOW subsystem, under Tools > Addons > extensions I see four Java console entries listed. They are: Java Console 6.0.20, 6.0.21, 6.0.22 & 6.0.23. 6.0.23 is active. The other 3 are disabled with the Uninstall button disabled. There are no extension folders in the default profile (only profile listed). There are not programs listed in the Windows Control Panel Remove programs pane.

Since I am unfamiliar with registry editing procedures, I used the manual removal process of deleting appropriate sub-folders from c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. After stopping Firefox and restarting it, only the desired (Java Console 6.0.23) extension appeared in Tools > Add-ons > extensions. Problem solved! My thanks to both cor-el and The-edmeister for their helpful responses!

Will you PLEASE bring back the choice on how tabs will open, either all at the end after the last tab, or arranged with similar next to each other. It used to be a CHOICE!

Tabs gone wild! Choice of how tabs open is removed and function of having tabs open only at end of all tabs is gone. Instead, tabs now open next to similar or same site, so they can be jumping all over the place and instead of finding them in the order you opened them, you have to hunt around to see which site it is sitting by instead. I can easily remember the order in which I opened them, not so easy to remember the site each one may be associated with, especially if they were opened in the order of an article and therefore in the order I wanted to read them.

Thunderbolt Daisy Chain to a DisplayPort Monitor (Dell 2713HM)?

I have a Mac mini (2011) that supports my Dell monitor (2713HM 27'') at its maximum reslution of 2560x1440 only through a Thunderbolt to Mini-Displayport cable. As this Mac has only Thunderbolt as a fast connection for backup drives I have to add a Thunderbolt chain with the backup device in the middle and the Dell monitor at the end of the chain if I want bakcups faster than Firewire 800 or USB 2.0 (the other possible connections with this Mac). My first attempt with such a setup was the LaCie eSATA Hub. But this does not feed the display signals through, the monitor stays black. Checked in the store with a genuin Thunderbolt monitor from Apple the daisy chain worked.
Can my chain work at all? Is only the Lacie the wrong drive hub? Would it work with a Seagate Desktop Hub, for instance STAE122 or STAE 127?

Daisy chain my (3) new thunderbolt Lacie D2 external

I just purchased 3 new Lacie D2 4TB hard drives and a rack to hold them and I want to daisy chain them but they only have one TB port each, did I just waist $1300.00? Is there a hub or multie port TB wire to use....I cant be the only one in this exspensive dilema!

Why can't you daisy chain your drives. If it's because the iMac only has a Thunderbolt port and you have Firewire drivers purchase the Thunderport to Firewire adaptor from Apple: Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)

Daisy Chaining Projects in captivate 4 - Can anyone help me?????

I'm at my wits end. I have three projects that I want to seemlessly run back to back, a to b to c then stop. I have done the Edit>Preferences>Project> Start and End, Project End options - Action = Open other project, Project name for both project a & b; published the SWF w/export HTML in Flash Player 8 for all of them to the same folder; and here are my issues: 1: when i click the html file for project a: nothing runs (this could be something else, but still....:(( ) Then, just to be sane, I republished project a, and clicked ok to the view project message. I only get to view project a. no linking/daisy chain/etc.
what the hades am I doing wrong??? oh, btw, I working on a locked down pc so I can't upload the patch... and need a workaround if it's a patch thing.

Just a thought here but if you want to daisy chain your projects, have you considered using the Aggregator? To do this you would simply publish SWF files A,B and C, create a new Aggregator project, add the three SWF files and then publish the entire project. Once published you would then get a new SWF and web page. Double-clicking new HTML file would then load the three SWFs into a SWF wrapper.

As croute1 suggested, check if the account used to create the item is a system account or not.
It is by design that system account cannot start workflow automatically in SharePoint.
If it's not the case, please check ULS logs to see if anything unexpected occurred.
For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS.
