Can the PCI-6602 card be configured for 3.3 volts?

I would like to be able to configure my pci-6602 card to output 3.3 volt signals either in software or with MAX. Can this be done?

The 6602 uses only 5V logic for it's driven outputs, but there is a Tri-State Enable feature which drives the output to high impedance instead of hi. This allows you to pull up the outputs to the required logic voltage.
The Tri-State Enable is found using the wired OR map in the DIO Port Config.vi

There're two ways to connect it. One is through the digital output ( which is the same as the front line out on the Audigy and is a different jack on the Audigy 2 series ) or through the front line out.
In either case, you need a stereo mini-plug to phono x 2 connector adapter cable.
In the case of a digital connection, only one of the plugs will carry the signal. For analogue connections, simply plug the two phono outputs into the L/R phono inputs on yer receiver.

I have a sine wave from a function generator as the input on the source of a counter. Input frequencies vary from 2-60 kHz. I want to produce a pulse train at a different frequency (10 Hz), but in phase with the sine wave. I have only been using Labview 5.1 for a short time. I am using the PCI-6602 card with a SCB-68 connecting block.

Unfortunately, you can't connect a analog sinewave to the counter source. Counters only work with digital TTL signal type. To accomplish that task, you will need a MIO board working in sync with the 6602 you already have.

How do I select the 80 Mhz internal source for the PCI-6602?

The user manual says the PCI-6602 counter/timer has
an internal 80Mhz as well as 20Mhz source. I'm trying
to select the 80Mhz source using the ni-daq function

Hi, this is a simple program in C as requested that measures the time between two pulses (buffered).
I'm working with the PC-6602, and it doesn't work with an internal 80Mhz source.
The errormessage is "C:\Frederik\gecord\oscillator\bufferperiodtest.cpp(87) : error C2065: 'ND_INTERNAL_80_MHZ' : undeclared identifier
Error executing cl.exe." after compiling. When I use "ND_INTERNAL_MAX_TIMEBASE" it does work, but on 20 MHz, not on 80.
Does anyone know what i have to do?

Hi coachcalamai,
The default behavior on the gate is as if there was no signal on the gate (ungated). If you want a trigger or to send a signal, you will specifically have to set it.
The default signal on the source is the 20MHz internal reference.

Are there any DMA channels or IRQ limitations we need

The only concern you need to have is the number of IRQs available. As far as DMA channels, as the PCI bus itself has only 3 DMA channels available, all the devices that use DMA will share those 3 channels. But, as IRQs can't be shared, the number of counters you will be able to use will be the exact number of available IRQs you still have on your machine.
As far as transfer rate, the maximum transfer rate will be 2000 Readings/sec, regardless the number of counters you are using.

I'm trying to measure the noise of an single axis accelerometer with a PCI-4461 card.
First, I have manually measured this noise using an HP35665 signal analyser. I obtain something like this:
And now with LabView and the PCI-4461 card, I get this:
My question is: where does this part come from? And how to remove it ? (Since it doesn't exist with the signal analyser)
I'm using LabView 8.5.

Yes indeed, the time signal seems to have two paterns (in green below), once negative and positive once about 50 ms later. This pattern is repeated with a frequency of 0.94 Hz (for simplicity let's say 1Hz).
I have reproduced this pattern with matlab using a decreasing exponential:
I have obtained this spectral signal:
That closely looks like what disturbs the spectrum, indeed..
Then I have tried to output a sinewave and acquire it:
I didn't see any problem.
So I made the measurment with other sensors.
The sensors are ICP accelerometers.The sensors that I am using are in page 7 of these document:

And finally I found that the problem came from the cable: when I use the shielded cables, the problem is present; and when I use "normal" cable, there is not the problem, as you can see :

The easiest way to interact with a DeviceNet based network is using the NI-DNET
driver software. The NI-DNET software runs on all CAN cards that come
as part of an NI-DNET kit (PCI-DNET, PXI-8461/D and PCMCIA-DNET) as
well as certain Series 1 CAN cards.
There are two different types of CAN hardware, referred to as 'Series
1' and 'Series 2'. Only 'Series 1' CAN cards with a high-speed physical
layer can be used with NI-DNET.
'Series 2' CAN hardware was introduced about two years ago and DOES NOT
work with NI-DNET. The online product pages don't list Series 1 CAN
hardware anymore.
From chapter 2, 'NI-DNET Hardware Overview' of the NI-DNET User Manual:
Hardware in (current) CAN kits is referenced as Series 2. Hardware in
DeviceNet kits is referenced as Series 1. Series 2 CAN cards cannot be
used with the NI-DNET software (NI-CAN only). The features of Series 2
CAN cards are specifically designed for CAN applications, and provide
no distinct advantages for DeviceNet. For more information on Series 2

Another simplest way to do it (assuming you running Windows) is to use a Matlab script.
If both programs running on different systems:-
Most simple and slow - Create two VI's with shared variable on both machines, and use a matlab script to
share data. (this makes matlab some kind of "slave").
More advanced but still relatively slow (Create two VI's with shared variable, on the Matlab machine build the .NET
dll, and it can be used on Matlab too ( at least at 2010b version, earlier version support only COM).
Create TCP/IP connection between two comps.
There is "out of the box" NI products, that communicate with Simulink models.You please do a simple search on that...OK

How to get the number of decimal places configured for a site column

I have a column 'SampleNumCol' of type Number, the number of decimal places to be displayed is configured as 2.
The column conatins a value, but when retrieved programatically is displayed as 5.00000000 instead of 5.00.
I am retrieving this column using listitem.Properties[field.InternalName].
I need to trim the decimals based on number of decimal places configured for the site column.
How to get the number of decimal places configured for a site column?

Get the field as SPFieldNumber and then check DisplayFormat which returns
SPNumberFormatTypes
