Can the proofreading tools in Pages be altered?

Is it possible to alter the proofreading items flagged by Pages. When I write technical documents it is tiresome to have Pages repeatedly flag the same word as jargon; in a technical document jargon is useful and intended.
My favorite irritating flagged item is 'adapt.' Pages is of the opinion that I really mean 'adopt.' I don't mean that and would like a way to tell Pages that I no longer, maybe never, needed that advice.

Do you really mean proof reading? It sounds as you mean spell checking. Proof reading has a green under line and Spell checking a red one.
I myself don't use proofreading in any language. I find it not helping much. I do use spell checking and if a legitimate word gets a red line I let the Pages learn it. I don't think proofreading have a learning ability. You could turn it off and when you are done writing turn it on and see what to correct.

Yes it can.
In fact you actually side step licensing issues by doing this because "technically" you are
not running a dispatcher workstation and therefore don't need to pay for another license.
The file to run is usually located in: DispatchStation\AdminTools and is called: ResourceManager.exe
You would need to take EVERYTHING from the AdminTools directory to run the tool.
You'd also want to make sure that the config file: ResourceManager.exe.config still makes
sense for the machine that you are on.
One word of caution: Running the Admin tool stand-alone is not really encouraged. Not a lot
of testing has been done in this regard and you may run into issues that have not been
seen when the admin tool is run as part of the dispatcher workstation.
I'm not sure if the stand-alone admin tool is even officially supported.
I CAN say that much of the functionality that you see from the too when it is run as part of the DW
does work when it is stand-alone, just don't expect 100%.

How can I fine tune what the Crop Tool crops (page, not image)?

When cropping a page using the Crop Tool, it seems to snap to preset dimensions, so that I can't crop to exactly the area I want to crop.

In Pages 5, you can insert images using the Media browser at the top of the document window. Once you insert them, you can edit and arrange images using the Format inspector--the paintbrush icon in the top right. You can find detailed information about inserting and using images at these links:

ps touch has stylus support, but the only stylus I know that definitely works is the S-pen.
as for the lasso tool: it can be done indirectly.
make a selection using any selection tool, and then use the "feather" option to soften the edges of your selection.

Can the crop tool resize resolution be changed?

When using the crop tool, and resizing it via the mouse, the dimensions tend to jump by 6-15 pixels depending on the phase of the moon (or more likely which dimension I am changing).
It would be nice if I could get LR into a 1-pixel movement mode or otherwise be able to set an exact pixel size for the cropping. Putting my mouse into high-resolution mode does not help. The crop tool always runs in a "fit" zoom mode so cropping at 1:1 zoom is not an option.
The "custom aspect ratio" dialog does not get me there because it does not do pixel dimensions.
I am aware that after doing the crop, I could use the export tool to get the exact pixel dimensions, but that is not what I am looking for.

When you email a picture from Photos, you can choose the size.

Can the latest version of Pages App load onto First Gen Ipad with ISO 5?

I hadn't purchased pages until now, but my old ipad with ISO 5 cannot install. Is there an older of Pages on Itunes to use on the old ISO 5?
Or can the ipad operating system be upgraded to ISO 7?

I simply can no longer locate the T, the text tool icon on the tool bar in PSE 12

I simply can no longer find the T, the text tool icon. In fact the whole tool bar seems greatly altered and reduced. Adobe help states that I need merely to "select the Horizontal or Vertical Text Icon" but they are nowhere to be seen, thus cannot be selected.
There must be some different view option, I assume.
I also assume that this is an easy fix.

The answer depends, in part, on which website you use for email. Volunteers often have accounts on Gmail, Yahoo mail, and Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail). Other sites might require more guesswork...

Has the recipe template for Pages been removed?

Since updating to the latest version it seems to have disappeared both on iOS and on Mavericks.

Apple removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and changed the file format.
Pages 5 alters/damages older Pages '09 files which is why Apple removed over 2/3rds of the templates.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

You may have answered my question. I AM using the 64bit version of Illustrator CS6. I had no idea there were bugs in it that affected paths copied and pasted from Illustrator to Photoshop.
A bit more about what I'm trying to accomplish... I'm trying to follow Deke's tutorial (http://www.deke.com/content/dekes-techniques-018-creating-a-3d-pie-chart) which is already difficult since so much has changed between CS5.5 and 6, but then on top of that, I keep getting errors!
So I created the pie chart exactly as he shows and copied and pasted into Photoshop exactly as he does. Before submitting this post, though, I tried drawing just two very simple triangle shapes, copying them both and pasting them into Photoshop as a shape layer. The shapes weren't overlapping, but they were a part of the same shape layer just like the pie chart tutorial.

I downloaded the new version of firefox. I restarted my computer. I no longer have the tools at the top of my page such as the refresh button. I need help getting those buttons back.

Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.<br />
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

Can't use the Zoom Tool to set the Magnification level of pages to diff sizes from the preset ones

Hi, I am trying to use the Zoom Tool and "Set Magnification" on my Dreamweaver CS5.5 in order to view my pages at different magnifications when working on them. My problem is that I need to use different sizes than those sizes that are available under the preset magnification levels list (which are for example 100%, 150% or 200%). These are the ones that come up on the zoom pop-up menu. The dreamweaver tutorial says that I need to type in the size I want (e.g. 115% or 130%) in the "zoom text box" and it will then apply that size to the page but the box does not let me change whatever size is currently in it. I can’t override or delete whatever preset size is in the box or do anything to change the zoom from the pre-set levels! I would really appreciate some help with this thanks

Hi Ben, thank you for the reply, unfortunately that was one of the pages I was looking at to try and fix this issue but it is of no help.
The page says for zooming in and out of a page to "Type a magnification level in the Zoom text box.". My dreamweaver will not let my type a manficiation level in the zoom text box. It just won't let me override whatever is in the box (e.g. 100%) so I can't change it from the default pre-set magnification levels. It is so frustrating!
Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I can't get the hand tool to move around the page by using the spacebar?

This has been working for me for ages but it has just stopped working an hour ago... Have I accidentally turned off a setting somewhere?

If the type tool is active with a blinking cursor, press Alt/Option to activate the hand tool.
With no blinking cursor, press Alt/Option + Spacebar.
If this is not the issue, try replacing your preferences.

How do I print just 1 web page in FF 29 ? With 29 you can only change the first field ( 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, etc. ) That means I can only print all 5 pages,

So I cant seem to print just the 1st of 5 pages. The default setting , 1 of 5, will print all 5 pages. The 2nd field can not be altered, as it could in previous FF versions, to 1 of 1. Therefore, I can only print all 5 pages, 2 through 5, 3 through 5, etc. WTF - I keep wasting print paper. I got the print edit add-on but that doesn't seem to help. I have been through several FF versions and do not like the format of 29.

Actually, with the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-edit/ Print Edit addon], if I click the down arrow I get the old print format options and can do it.
