Can the RS-422 card's transfer rate reach 153.6kb/s?

I want to buy a RS-422 card such as PXI-8421/2(777735-02).I want its transfer rate will be 153.6kb/s.I don't know if NI's card can support this rate.

I believe so.

can the same gift card be used with a differencet itunes account?

No, a gift card can only be redeemed onto one account - it can then only be used to buy items for that account (it can't be used to gift content to another account).

  • I was getting and iTunes gift cards and I want to ask that can the iTunes gift card can be use for the app store.

I was getting an iTunes gift card and I just want to ask that can the iTunes gift card be use for the app store.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • Can the NI 4350 card output a continuous digital frequency?

I am trying to send various frequencies of 0's and 1's through the digital lines using the NI 4350 (USB) but do not know if this is possible. Currently this is done via the printer port to control the speed of a stirrer but slows the computer down. I was wondering if this card can produce a continous pulse or has a buffer which can output a continuous frequency until a new fequency is specified.
Any ideas would be great. Thanks

The digital lines on the 4350 are capable of static or digital operation only and the speed depends on the software and operating system. You may want to consider either a counter/timer device or a 653x high speed digital device for pulse train generation.

  • How far can the apple n card reach?

I live in a townhouse community and with the g card I can see 7 to 10 other wireless routers. Some of the access are locked down and some are open. The ones that are open are to far away to have reliable connection. My question is will the update be able to give me further reach to those access point?

The update will do nothing to improve your range on AB or G, it will enable you to use the N frequency when combined with an N wireless router, will give you significantly better range and connectivity.
If one of the networks in your area happens to be an N (unlikely because they are so new) then you would most likely have no trouble hacking/logging into it.

  • Can the PCI-6602 card be configured for 3.3 volts?

I would like to be able to configure my pci-6602 card to output 3.3 volt signals either in software or with MAX. Can this be done?

The 6602 uses only 5V logic for it's driven outputs, but there is a Tri-State Enable feature which drives the output to high impedance instead of hi. This allows you to pull up the outputs to the required logic voltage.
The Tri-State Enable is found using the wired OR map in the DIO Port Config.vi

  • Can the mini vid card drive a 1920x1200 screen?

Hi guys, thinking about getting a mini and wonering if it can drive a dell 2405?
The g4 or the intel version i have no preference . . . . well g4 version would be cheaper!!
    Thanks Kalel

It was a co-worker's monitor and I only used it for a bit. It looked good - even video - but I'll readily admit I'm spoiled by Apple's displays. I don't prefer dell's way of doing backlights - but that is a really, really minor and picky quibble.
If I didn't have Apple displays or couldn't afford them - dell would be my second choice at this point. Keep in mind I spend up to 12 hours a day regularly in front of a display - sometimes late at night and not having fatigued eyes is worth a lot to me. Dells have many more ports/butons/controls so if that is beneficial to you, then that's a plus for their models.
Sorry I don't have a g4 mini to test with.

  • Hard Drive Transfer rate...

    hey there everyone,
Just a quick question... does anyone know whats the transfer rate for the Serial ATA hard drives that are in the new PowerMacs?
    Thanks!!
    James

SATA I controller in your G5 can support up to 150 Mb transfer rate per channel. The actual rate is dependent on the drive it is connected to.
Apple doesn't usually list which drive manufacturer is used within their computers. In fact, they use multiple suppliers, so it is possible for you to order a G5 with say 250 GB drive, and your friend next door to order the same Mac, and each of you get a computer with different drive manufacturers inside.
That being said, Apple seem to use a lot of Maxtor drives at the moment, though Western Digital also shows up.
For people who want a specific drive, I always recommend purchasing the G5 configured with the smallest (less expensive) drive available, then buying your own hard drive and installing it yourself. You end up with two drives, one of which is the specific type you want, and the other can be a great backup or data drive.

  • Ethernet Transfer Rate

I have the following network set up:
1 - Linksys WRT350N Router/Hub combo with the following Ethernet connections:
2 – new computers with gigabit network adaptors
1 – old computer with gigabit network adaptor.
To isolate slower devices on my network, the fourth connection on the Linksys router is connected to a 10/100 hub with the following equipment connected to it:
1 – new computer with gigabit network adaptor
1 HP 2605 Laser printer with built-in 100 megabit network adaptor.
    My questions are:
Will the 3 computers connected directly to the Linksys router achieve gigabit transfer rates?
Does the “whole” network run at the rate of the slowest device on the network –i.e. the printer?
    Thanks.

The computers will run at Gigabit speed .... they should have Gigabit ethernet Card in them ..... Also the slower device is might be issue related to the drivers of the device .....

  • Zen Micro USB 2.0 Transfer Rate Prob

    Hi all!
I have searched through the posts here and havn't found a definiti've answer to my question. My question is:
Do you have to be running Creative Media Source in order to get the full USB 2.0 Transfer Rate capability from the Zen Micro?
I have noticed that I have had some pretty slow transfer rates with Windows Media Player 0 but the rate is lightning fast in Creative Media Source. Maybe I am missing some sort of setting.
On another note, I have noticed the sensitivity of the Touch Pad on my Zen Micro is kinda flakey. Sometimes it's very sensitve and sometimes parts of the pad are totally unresponsi've. Here is my observation on the matter. When you turn the player on, the power button snaps back into the other direction if you let go if it quickly. When this happens the button is on the edge of being locked/unlocked so it is sort of intermitantly shorting out. If i slide the button slightly to the left and then let go, the full functionality of the pad is then restored. I think maybe the spring that keeps the button from staying in the off position is too large a spring and needs to be shortened.

my bad, but i should have mentioned that I have a zen touch 40 gig rather than a micro. So I guess no solution yet in my case. It just seems to me that Creative is paying much more attention to the Micro
(MTP support, new firmwares,...) than to their other players, including the touch. they have been talking about a firmware upgrade for the "touch" for months now, but still nothing. The only reason I did not purchase a micro was for its capacity. other than that, not only it gets more development and support attention, but the interface of the player is much better than the Touch, and it seems to work like a charm with WMP 0. Why couldn't they carry the 20Gig micro in North America....
Well enough nagging. Thanks for your reply. Now has anybody solved this slow transfer issue on Zen Touch? i got a feeling the answer is no...

  • How can I check the data transfer rate of my FW800 port

I have an iMac 2.4 20 inch (MB323LL/A) with a Lacie external rugged hard drive (320 GB). I have attached it using my FW800 port with the cable supplied with the drive.
It seems slow to me so I was wondering if there is any way to see what the current data transfer is for a backup in progress. Of course it should be 800Mbps but is it really moving at that speed ? How can I tell what speed it is transferring at ? Can I use the same method for USB ports too ?

When you move a large file, you are more likely to see a sustained transfer rate than a small file. Small files have to be individually read/write back and forth, thus slows the actual transfer rate down. If you are moving any file up to 4 GB and probably over 1 MB you'll see more realistic transfer rates. Furthermore your hard drive access time, and RPM figures into the equation too, as well as how much RAM you have. 800Mbps works out to 100 Megabytes per second under ideal conditions.

  • I have an Ipod1 with 3G and an unlimited ATT plan.  I want to get an Ipad2 - can I swap SIM cards so that my unlimited service will automatically transfer to the new unit?

I have an Ipod1 with 3G and an unlimited ATT plan.  I want to get an Ipad2 - can I swap SIM cards so that my unlimited service will automatically transfer to the new unit?

You don't actually swap the SIM card. For some reason, AT&T doesn't like you to do it that way.
    Go to:
    www.att.com/ipadlanding
edit payment information link...then update the following two fields:
    IMEI:
    ICCID:
You get this info from the iPad (1 or 2) select 'Settings' then 'General' then 'About'...
The IMEI and ICCID info is on that screen. No need to swap the SIM cards. This process outlined above transfers service instantly and does NOT change the plan type, billing, user info, or days remaining. Basically anytime an ATT customer wants to move a data plan the ATT iPad web page is all you need. No phone call!
It took me about 3 minutes and worked perfectly.

  • Gigabit ethernet + TC doesn't mean gigabit transfer rates to the TC drive..

Alright.... I've spent a ton of time trying to figure this out (probably more than I should have) and I thought I'd post my findings so that either a) I'll save someone else time out there or b) someone can tell me I'm a complete moron
So I had an airport extreme. I replaced it with a Time Capsule. I have a Windows (boooo) PC connecting directly to my TC using a gigabit ethernet card (which I bought specifically connect it to the TC) so (I thought) I could enjoy gigabit transfer speeds to the internal hard drive from the wired PC. I had some fun plans of shoving my itunes directory on the TC and letting appletv sync (yes through my pc) and keeping lots of videos there, etc. Who cares - it'd be at gigabit speeds! But, in reality, things didn't quite work that way (though my itunes directory does still live on my TC...for now).
Well, I had a semi-unique situation to do some pretty massive testing because I have 2 gigabit network cards, 1 100mb network card, and a wireless-n network card and two internal hard drives - both very fast. I also tried Cat 5, Cat 5e, and a Cat 6 cable.
And here's what I (think I) figured out:
The hard drive in TC can not achieve gigabit transfer speeds. Your transfer rates will be limited by the IO to the hard drive. In fact, it can't even come close.
Using my "fastest" setup - so Cat 6, fastest internal drive, gigabit ethernet, and transferring a file exactly 1 gig in size I was able to have a sustained transfer rate of 140 megabit per second - that's 17.4 MB/s for folks not wanting to do the math (that's reading FROM the TC. Writing TO the TC dropped the speed down to 106 megabit/second or 13.35 MB/s). Going to a 5e cable knocked that down to 130 megabit a second. Putting in a Cat 5 cable knocked me down to 110 megabit a second. Switching between my two gigabit network cards did nothing. Switching my cards between two computers did nothing.
Now, just changing the above setup to use my 100Mb network card resulted in these results: 67 megabit read (8.4MB/s) and 65 megabit write (8MB/s)...
And using wireless N, I got about 10MB/s up and down.
And just as a final test, connecting my two computers together using the 2 gigabit network cards through the TC, I was able to achieve standard gigabit speeds.
SO what does this all mean?
I think the IO to the hard drive in the TC can only read at about 140 megabit/s and write at about 110 megabit/s. I'm not sure if it's the HD itself or how it's connecting to the TC - but that's why I'm not aware of anyone getting faster transfer rates to the drive in the TC (maybe you guys are?). The gigabit ports themselves are fine - and if you're doing anything from one gigabit port to another gigabit port you'll be fine.
So stop beating yourself up trying to find some elusive XP specific issue with gigabit transfer rates (though vista had a problem - shocker), or that you must have a defective gigabit card (which is why I have two cards now instead of one :)), or that your cable must be bad ("maybe my cat 5e isn't good enough?")... it's just this drive ... or how the drive is connecting to the network - can't handle the gigabit speeds.
Unless someone else out there has another explanation? Do these speeds mesh with what you're seeing in "optimal" situations? Or maybe there's just a throttle switch for goobers like me using Windows instead of MacOS!

    Hi,
the interfaces available today which connect your drives integrated electronics to your computer can handle that speeds. but the drive itself is limited by the mechanical things going on in there
You can get such transfer speeds if the data you request is in the cache of the drives internal electronics for example. Some drives have 8 MB of cache memory. So if you request to read or write less than 8 mb and (in the read case) you are lucky enough to have those few megabytes cached then you may get that performance
    Regards,
    somi
