Can the save as dialog box be over-ridden?

Is it possible to use the SDK to supress the Save As dialog box that appears when doing a digital signature?
Over-riding the regular Save As menu via replacing the AVDocDoSaveAsSEL HFT doesn't seem to have that effect.

Our company does online Document Management for accounting firms. One of the firms uses signatures to mark a return as finished / reviewed by a partner before going out to the IRS. They wanted to have an option to have the Save As skipped because they're going to upload the document afterwards anyway.

How come the "save as" dialog box keeps popping up whenever I try to use alt codes?

I type with diacritical marks regularly but recently, when I press and hold Fn + Alt + the numerical code, it brings up the "save as" dialog box. This seems to be a Firefox-specific issue because this doesn't happen on Microsoft Word + other programs. I am wondering how to disable this "save as" dialog box shortcut, or how to just get the alt codes to work.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns.

I recommend you get Default Folder. I've considered it a must have utility for my systems since OS9 Classic days. It greatly helps in navigation for the ever deficient file dialogs in OSX (and OS9).

On a MBP with Mavericks how do I get the Save As dialog box to open at the same size and place at which it was last closed and used to happen before Mavericks?

Before I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, the Save As dialog box would reopen at the same size and position as it was when last closed. Now with Mavericks it always opens in the same position at a very small size. Is there a way to make it reopen at the last place and size at which it was closed?

I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10

2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

How do I force Firefox (6v02) to stop showing thumbnails of existing file(s) in the save-as dialog box?

I save files associated with similar objects using similar names (just a different extension, or numeric sequence). The save-as dialog box shows a list of existing files. When I choose one, with the intention of changing the file extension or the numeric sequence (e.g., choose 'file001.jpg' in order to rename the new file to be saved 'file002.mpg') the thumbnail associated with the one I select is shown on the right. I neither want nor need this time-consuming & memory-consuming process to take place. I would like to be able to disable this feature in order to allow me to do what I want directly and faster (P3/866MHz/512MB).

Setting a default location of the 'Save As' dialog box

I know this is an unusual question, but I do a lot of file-naming at work with Adobe Standard and it would help me if I could set a default location of the 'Save As' dialog box -- say, by dragging it to the corner of the screen so that the next time Adobe opens, the 'Save As' box will open in that location (rather than in the center by default).
By this, I don't mean setting a location for one session, which it does automatically, but rather setting an initial location for when Acrobat starts up.
Any help would be appreciated.

How to customize the Save as dialog Box for saving Web Query???

Hello,
we are usnging SAP NW Portal and BI 7.0 (SP14).
We have published BI web queries in the Portal and it works just fine, now when the User select the Button "Save As" in the Context Menu of any web query, this will open a new Dialog Box name "Save As Dialog Box", so from this dialog box the user can select where to save the query, he/she have 3 options* to save qureies: My Favorites, Bex Portfolio and MyPortfolio, this also works fine.
My Quetsion is: How can i customize the View of this "Save As" dialog box, so at the end the User can only select 2 Options: My Favorites + MyPortfolio. So how to hide the Tab: Bex Portfolio in the Dialog Box.
Points for any good answer.

In what you have posted, there is no reason it shouldn't work the same way in Acrobat 9. I would recommend that you submit your complete application to developer support.

Click a Link and open the save-as dialog box instead of browser opening it

Basically, i have a link to an image and when i click it the browser opens the image. I would prefer that when i click the link to the image that i get some sort of save functionality to occur.
I created a link to the Google logo so it looks like Google image when clicked the browser opens the image. What i would like to do is click the link and then have the save-as dialog pop up (or something similar). Currently I would either have to right click the opened image and save image as or right click the link and then save-as that way. In this instance the file doesn't reside on the database but an external source so is there a way to save-as dialog once the link is clicked?

How I change the save image dialog box view from oldest to newest first as the default?

My save image dialog box has the oldest file in the folder in the upper left position (using list). I want to change it to the newest file shown first. It used to be that way, but now it showing oldest first. I haven't found any guidance on defaults for this box. Thanks.

Leave it to Apple. When I first got the phone, that's the way they were configured. Now that they've flipped around, there's now way to change it!

File Format options not appearing in the Save As dialog box - InDesign CC

So i was working with a legacy file (an .eps from illustrator4) that i placed into InDesign CC, and when i went to export as a jpg, the option to choose a different file format from the bottom of the dialog box was gone. Did i hit some crazy shortcut to remove the options, or is this a bug that occurs when working with certain legacy files? I've restarted InDesign, rebooted my laptop, deleted my Adobe preferences, reset my adobe warning dialogs, and I still cant export or save as any other file format because the option doesnt appear. And it doesnt matter if i create a new file or open an existing one. Please help. See the pic below. No option for file format on the bottom of the dialog box.

Reinstalling worked, but i'd still kinda like to know what caused this problem & if this will continue to happen. To me, reinstalling is pretty much like having to reboot anytime you go to IT -- they dont know what the problem is, they just know how to fix/stop it.

How do I automatically keep settings unchecked in the 'save as' dialog box?

I use Illustrator CS6. Every day I modify and then save lots of graphics in illustrator. I do a lot of “saving as” with files so that I can see what is selected in the Illustrator options panel. I have to make sure that:
-Create pdf compatible file
-Embed ICC Profiles
-Use Compression
are all deselected (Turned off) before I save. I would like to save time and automatically have none of these items checked when I go to save. I’ve already figured out how to keep ‘create pdf compatible file’ unchecked all the time: by modifying the AI preferences file and specifying “0” next to PDFCompatibility.
Does anyone know how I can modify the others to keep them unchecked? Are they specified as well somewhere in the AIPrefs file? Thanks!

Offering the SAVE AS dialog box- No ability to just SAVE.

I've posted about this before and have not gotten an answer. Why - when I try to save my cs6 file - is it only . it happens whether I just press the command/s or if i use the File > Save menu.
Something is wrong here and it's creepy. Can anyone help me figure out what this bug is about?

When I try and print a document the Save As dialog box pops up and my document doesn't print.

My printer is a Kodak ESP C310, I am using Windows XP, There is no error message, I can use my printer as a copy machine and it will print, but not when use the print command from the laptop.

I could do this on my PC in Windows - I find it hard to believe there isn't a way to create a new folder when I'm saving a document? Perhaps I'm missing something...
