Can the SFP-10G-SR down-support connect to SFP 1000BASE-SX ?

Hi everybody:
today i use the SFP+ "SFP-10G-SR" in Cisco Catalyst 2960S-48TD-L connect to  1000BASE-SX SFP in 6509's module WS-X6724-SFP.
the port setting is trunk, but they don't work, even the led don't flush. then i also use the 1000BASE-SX SFP to replace SFP+ SFP-10G-SR in
2960S-48TD-L, then they cany working.
i look up the cisco data sheet , there are no data sheet to satament the 10G sfp+ can't down support 1G sfp. so i want to confirm the problem.
otherwise, the 10 SFP+ only can use for 10G SFP+ ; can't down suport 1G SFP.
this means: if  you want to use the 10G SFP+ the other old device also need to replace.
thanks~for your help!!

Hi Marvin,
I found this conversation today, as I am looking for answer on question similar to question that Jerry asked, while opening this discussion.
So, my problem is the following. At some location, I need two 10GB and one 1GB connection over optical cables. To minimize costs, I tried with WS-C2960X-48FPD-L, but as it contain only two SFP+ ports, I tried with two WS-C2960X-24PD-L that will be connected with stack modules.
So, having two WS-C2960X-24PD-L, I can have 2 x 2 1GB SFP+ ports. There are two opened questions:
1. Can I put 1GB SFP transceiver module in SFP+ port (as I must have one 1GB connection to remote site)?
2. Can I use stack of two mentioned 2960 24-port switches, in a way that I use one of them for two 10GB connections (using SFP+ ports for 10GB connection), and second member of the stack in a way that one (of two available) SFP+ port is used for 1GB SFP connection (using SFP+ port as mentioned in question 1)?
I am not sure if your previous statement covers my questions, as it is not clear if 1GB SFP transceiver can be inserted in SFP+ port on WS-C2960X-24PD-L (or any other switch that has SFP+ port).

  • How to rechoose or add the Oracle 10g AS's support language?

    hi all,
I Installed the Oracle 10g As on a redhat as 3 with sp4. and I did not choose any other languages support while install the Oracle 10g AS. All were fine except that while I accessed the server's 1810 port with IE6, I got additive device. Some charatersets display right while some such as buttons display as a litter pane.
so my question is how to rechoose the Oracle 10g AS's support language and set one of my preference to as default character set !
I am not sure whether this problem just relate to the emctl's startup parameter.
    regards,
    Ari

Finally, I reinstalled the Oracle Application Server 10g on the same Operration System. Any modification of the setting in my computer hasn't been made. in the course of installation, all the operation steps were the same with the previous time, except for adding a language support.
And this time, to access the em manager console with IE, all runs fine without any additive device. The buttons display the right words now. And I found there are something different in the folder $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/webapps/emd/cabo/images/cache/.
But I still have not any idea how to correct this problem on an installed system if I meet next time. Do I must reinstall anytimes? Or there just need to modify some config files?

  • Can the BC API be used to connect/synch directly to a iPhone App (app local database)?

    Hi Guys,
I'm just starting a project in collaboration with an iPhone App developer, they're building an app where a user will input survey data which is saved to a database within the app, then when the phone has a connection, the data is uploaded to a database. I want to use BC and extend the CRM to store the data captured from the app against a customer/case record, which will subsequently be displayed and modified by admin staff through a web front end. If necessary I'll use a Web App for part of this functionality.
I know the BC Web Services API can connect to an external database, but before designing a solution that requires building an external database to store the iPhone app data just so that BC can connect to it, can you tell me whether it's possible for the BC Web Services API to connect directly with an iPhone App (with integrated database)?
Totally new territory for me, so any answer to my question, or other help, tips and advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards, Mark.

Many thanks for your helpful feedback TheBCMan, that's very clear. The more I've researched this, the more roadblocks appear and the more it appears BC is not going to work for this project, which is a shame as some of the other BC features are perfect for the project as a whole. However, before giving up, can I run the points below by you to validate or disprove any of my current understanding?
I understand I will need to stand up an external db/app to synch with the iPhone app to save the customer survey data, and I understand I will then be able to connect the external db/app to the BC API and pull the survey data into a extended CRM form.
However, once the data is in BC, I cannot work out a way where I could edit that CRM form data with it's assigned to a Case? That is, I understand it's possible to display/edit CRM form data assigned to a 'contact' of a customer record, but the problem here is I can only access the data to edit it when logged on as that customer. But this is data a staff member will access (customers will not be able to access it) and staff will not have access to the customers login credentials. So it's not feasible to assign the CRM data at the Contact level, agree/disagree?
If I set up one staff member as a customer (so one unique login) and save all the (potentially hundreds) of survey data CRM forms as individual 'Cases', but as I understand it, whereas this overcomes the customer logn issue, I won't be able to add a web form to a page to edit the survey data CRM form, because it's assigned to a Case, not a Contact in this scenario, agree/disagree?. (This is the approach I really hoped would work out)
And as you said, I can't use a Web App, which would overcome both of the issues above, because I can't access a Web App from the BC API.
So, in conclusion, these appear to be no way around these roadblocks, unless you can tell me otherwise?
    Thanks again for your help.
    Regards, Mark.

  • Can the latest generation Airport Extreme support Comcast 100mbps internet service?

I have an Asus router now that I am having problems with. I would like to replace it with the latest Airport Extreme. I am currently getting speeds of 126mbps down and 24 up. Would I be able to get those speeds on the latest Airport Extreme.
If it can I will get it. What're your thoughts?
    Thanks!

I don' think that anyone here has a crystal ball that is good enough to be able to tell you how a given product will work on your network in your home.
I use a Zoom modem with an AirPort Extreme with 100 Mbps service from the ISP.
If I run an Internet connection test using a popular site like www.speedtest.net and connect my Mac directly to one of the Ethernet ports on the AirPort Extreme, I typically get 100-105 Mbps.
If I switch to wireless, and my Mac is within 10-20 feet of the AirPort Extreme in the same room, I will get about 95 Mbps on average
If I move the Mac to the next room, so the signal must pass through a wall to reach the Mac, I get about 80 Mbps on average
If I move the Mac a few more rooms away, the speed drops to about 50 Mbps
    You get the idea
If I run an option-click check with the WiFi icon at the top of the screen, and the Mac is near the AirPort Extreme, you can see the result below.
That might be an impressive number to look at, but the fact remains that the speed of the Internet connection will only be as fast as the ISP can deliver.
Your results will likely be different, and you won't know what they will be until you try things out in your home.  Buy from Apple and you have 14 days to return the product for a refund or credit.

  • Can the iPod Touch 5th Generation support iOS 5?

Just wondering if the new breed of iPod Touch will be iOS 5 (and by that I mean possibly, 5.0.0,  5.15.0,  5.25.0.1,  5.35.1, or 5.45.1.1).  If it can support one of the versions of iOS 5, a few, or even all, please specifiy.  Thank you!

Well, I mean it is possible to downgrade your software, all you have to do is find the iOS version you're looking for online, and when the iPod is connected, (if you're running Windows like myself), shift click (Shift+Click) the 'update' button on the iPods main menu, and instead of just updating to the newest iOS, it will ask you to locate the (iOS) file that you want the iPod to run on, in Windows Explorer.
This allows you to find older iOS versions just in case something to the newest version (such as iOS 6) isn't to one's personal preference.
I was just wondering, because I know many people with iPhone 4S's and many of them seem to not like iOS 6, and I'm not too keen on it myself.  Since I will soon be getting an iPod Touch 5g (which naturally comes with iOS 6 preinstalled), I was just wondering if the hardware on this newest iPod would be able to support the software for iOS 5?  Y'know, just in case.

  • HT202856 Can the Mac Mini (Late 2014) support 4k display @ 60 Hz via the DisplayPort?

    Dear Experienced Apple Guru,
Apple made it clear on the Tech Specs for the Mac Mini (Late 2014) that a 4k display can be supported via the HDMI port at 30 Hz. But, can we also be clear how many Hertz the Mac Mini can handle with a 4k display via the Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt 2)?
I have a site linked here saying that the DisplayPort 1.2 can handle up to nearly 20 Gbps, thus can handle 4k display at 60 Hz:
"DisplayPort version 1.2 can support video resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K) at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and it supports all common 3D video formats. In terms of bandwidth, it can manage 17.28 Gbps. Version 1.3, when it arrives, will support up to 8192 x 4320 (8K) resolution, or two simultaneous 4K streams. It will also double bandwidth to 32.4 Gbps.
Meanwhile, HDMI version 1.4 is the most common at the moment. This supports the same 4K resolution as DisplayPort 1.2, but at just 30 Hz (or 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz). HDMI 2.0 is new on the scene in a few devices such as this Sony TV. This doubles the refresh rate to 60 Hz as well as increases bandwidth from 10.2- to 18 Gbps."
    Thanks,
    Trevalyn

That have enabled DP 1.2 on their monitor and used a DP 1.2 cable but still only get 30 Hz at 4K.
The MAC does not support MST

  • Can the Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra be Connected to my home tuner/amplifi

Sorry if this topic has been covered . . . I'm new to this whole MPS player world! If I'm going to spend the bucks on a 40 or 60 GB player, I'd sure like to be able to use it as my sole source of music on my home stereo/hi-fi system. So, at the risk of asking what may be a really dumb question, 'can this device be connected to my amplifier/tuner (using RCA plugs, I imagine)'. The amp. has several TAPE , TAPE 2 types of female connections available . . .
    I greatly appreciate any/all advice/responses . . .

Y Cable is what you need - you can find them at radio shack or walmart, etc.

  • Can the Canon Pixma ix 6520 support manual duplex printing?

I know that this printer doesn't support duplex printing but I was wondering how would I double side print manually with the canon pixma ix6520?
    Thanks!

    Hello thekay94.
Manual duplex printing can be done by printing on one side at a time.
If you are printing from a Windows computer, please select the Duplex printing option in the Page Setup tab of the Printing Preferences menu.  If you are printing from a Mac, please use the options in the Layout menu to print the odd pages first, then load the stack back in the printer with the blank side facing you to print on the even numbered pages.

Sure it can. On overheating no one can answer because they simply haven't gotten into the field yet. Look in the help forums in a couple of months to see if you find overheating issues, but remember these forums are like visiting a hospital. You can't get an accurate representation of the whole populations health by what is happening in a hospital.

  • Cisco Nexus 5548UP support SFP-10G-LRM ?

Hi all, I have a question about Cisco Nexus 5548UP. Is Cisco Nexus 5548UP support SFP-10G-LRM ? Because in CCW, i can't configure the SFP-10G-LRM. There is only SFP-10G-LR, SR, and the others, but there's no LRM. Pelase help me to answer this question. Thanks a lot

The LRM is s special case transceiver which supports 10 Gbps over older FDDI grade multimode fiber when used with a mode conditioning patch cord. It is not supported on the Nexus 5548UP.
The SFP-10G-LR is used with single mode fiber for spans up to 10 km in length. It is supported on the 5548UP (and most every platform of Cisco's that takes SFPs).
Please see the product data sheet here.
