Can the iMac be used as an external monitor for a MacBook?

    What iMac is this ?
If it is a 2009 or 2010 27" iMac than this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3924 could apply.

  • Can the iPad be used as a sketch pad?

Can the iPad be used as a sketch pad?

Not exactly, it doesn't offer the fine control, it's a touchscreen.
You might be better served with a Wacom graphics tablet.

Here is the sketch pen for the iPad, notice how thick the end is?
    http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/BambooStylus/BambooStylus.aspx
The graphics tablet and pens are much finer and thus allow for more detail, but require marrying to a computer.
Depends upon your need. Fine or casual sketching. If you can work with constantly zooming in/out on the iPad's small screen.
You can't rest your hand on the iPad screen neither, if that's a issue or not.
If you wait, touchscreen iMac's are likely coming out down the road sometime.
This would offer the best of both.

  • Using ITUNES via WIFI hotspots

I currently own an iTouch 16GB 2nd Gen, i had a problem when i was using wifi for my itouch all of the wifi features worked like the safari browser, email, youtube it was okay. But when i tried using the app store it lets me go in the app store but when i try downloading like the free games it lets me press the install button then when the game is already loading it says connect itouch to itunes like theres an error or something.
And when i click on the itunes via itouch on a wifi hotspot it says itunes not available in your country im from the phil. and ive got a lot of friends who uses itunes with their itouch and it works okay with theirs.

t lets me press the install button then when the game is already loading it says connect itouch to itunes like theres an error or something.
It sounds like you don't have a credit card linked to your iTunes account. You must have done this to download even the free apps. People in many parts of the world (not Canada) can use an iTunes Gift Card.

  • Is it able to be used as a wifi hotspot?

is it able to be used as a wifi hotspot? (The AirPort)

If you mean to plug a 3G / 4G modem into it.. NO.. apple has made no provision..
It is solely usable as a wireless router plugged by ethernet to existing modem or modem router.

  • Can an iphone4 be used on a wifi connection like an iPod touch with out phone service? Apps etc?

If I have an iphone 4 and want to use it w out a cellular phone service is that possible with a wifi connection to use apps and the App Store like an iPod touch is used w a wifi service?

Yes it can be used as an iPod without cellular service but using WiFi when needed.  I recommend, however, that you keep your Sim card even after it is no longer active either on the iPhone or stored somewhere, as you would need it to be there if you need to re-activate the iPhone after a restore, should you ever need to do one.

How can the number of computers used for an iTunes account be updated? I had to reinstall itunes on a new hard  drive it and counted as an additional computer, against my 5 total computers.

wait until you reach the limit of five authorized machines. then, once a year, you will be able to deauthorize all machines, following which you can reauthorize those computers you currently use/have access to.

  • Can the Groupware connector use XI to communicate with CRM2007 ?

    Hi,
Can the latest CRM groupware connector be used to connect to SAP CRM2007 using XI
instead of communicating directly with SAP CRM2007?
The current system landscape regarding the exchange server and CRM systems is such that
it would not be feasible to connect the connector directly to the CRM server.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Sunil

    Sunil,
Well technically if you make XI talk the same language that CRM talks to the groupware connector then your scenario is possible.  Now the problem would be knowing the "format" of the communication that comes out of CRM to the groupware connector.  If you can figure that out, then you could probably custom build the scenario you are talking about.
I'm just not sure if you will get any type of positive ROI by doing this method.  Personally it just looks like something that would be costly and probably something that you will not get a lot of support.  It might be easier to keep "one" CRM system that talks to groupware.  Then that CRM distributes the data back from the groupware outbound to XI and then in XI you can send back to CRM.  You could do the reverse where your CRM system feeds it to XI and it sends it to the CRM groupware connector system, which then feeds the groupware.
It involves a few more hops, but elminates the needs to figure out the SOAP protocol building between XI and the connector.  You can then "hop" on the standard middleware adapter to distribute changes outbound using XIF plus XI and evenutally wind up in the groupware.
The drawback is one of your CRM systems, needs to have at least a global view of all business partners and activities.  Which might not be desired by your business.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Can the IPAD be used as a monitor to view photos from Camera?

I do a lot of underwater photos and video.  I would like to use use the IPAD to review the days shoot while on the boat, in the hotel or on the plane.  I would rather not download all of the photos to the IPAD--although I do have the Lightning to SD card.  Is there any way to simply view photos and videos from my camera or the SD card without downloading?  You can do that on a TV--why not on an IPAD?

I believe you can do that.  When you first plug in the SD card using the Camera Connection Kit, I believe you will see on the iPad all the photos on that SD card.  You will have an option to import them, or a selected subset of photos.  Just stop there and don't do the import.  Would that solve your problem?

  • Can the iMac be used as a high def tv with a cable service

Can an iMac be used as a HD tv? I was curious as to if I could use it for both home entertainment and personal and professional computer needs.

Do a bit of research and asking around on AVS fourms.  If you use the Elgato products (which are great!) you can use your iMac as an HDTV but it is limited compared to a dedicated settop device.  For instance you will not have on demand and the such.
Now if you want to I think you can input the HDMI out from a setup box to the minidisplay port.  You will have to find another solution for sound.  Those with more experience can chime in.

  • Can select but not use iPhone 4 WiFi in iOS 4.3.4 & 4.3.5

After I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.4, I could select my WiFi-connection, but it would refuse to use it. The 3G or circle-icon showed instead of WiFi. In the settings, my home WiFi is slected, but it is not used. The 3G keeps showing instead. I tested it using YouTube and the browser and the speed is indeed 3G speed. I upgraded to 4.3.5: still the same problem.
I went to the settings, chose to ignore my WiFi network. I then re-scanned, chose my WiFi, just to refresh everything. It still didn't work. I restarted my phone, which also didn't solve the problem. Whenever I go to the settings, it shows the selection of my WiFi with the checkmark on the left as if I am actually using it, but it doesn't.

If you update to iOS 4.3.4 or iOS 4.3.5, you will need to power-off your WiFi-router, wait a couple of seconds and power it back on. Then, your WiFi-connection will work with the iPhone 4. If you don't do that, you will not be able to use WiFi on the iPhone 4.
Rebooting the iPhone or re-selecting the WiFi-router (even after deleting the connection) will not get the job done. Only by powering off/on your router. Now, it works again.

  • Can the Nano 4G use USB 1.1?

Can the ipod nano 4Gs use USB 1.1? I knows if it does then it will be very slow but I wont mind ... (too much). And if it does is there any down side (besides the wait)? Does 1.1 USB have a different electricty level then USB 2.0 or something?

    Hey twig978,
The iPod Nano system requirements are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/specs.html
    +Mac system requirements+
    +Mac computer with USB 2.0 port+
    +Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later+
    +iTunes 8 or later7+
    +Windows system requirements+
    +PC with USB 2.0 port+
+Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3+
    +iTunes 8 or later7+
USB is forward compatible so it may work but it will not meet the system requirements. You will be better off getting a USB 2 expansion card or upgrading the computer.
