ok, im bored at work, on a sunday, came accross this in a magazine...looked kind of cool...wanted to see if it worked with iPhones...
i may have missed it, but i didnt see it mention how it worked with a cell phone...
anyone or any car audio guys(or gals) know anything about this?

It's a small possibility something like that could have a potential of working with the iPhone.
I forget but 4 to 5 months ago back when people announced Apps coming to iPhone. I did see some cool development of applications that would allow you to control things from the iPhone. But this was based I think on stuff in the house possibly the car. I really wish I had the link to what that story was. But anything is possible with the SDK. So well see

No, neither as a client or as the adminstrator station. There are apps that allow you to take control of another computer from your iPad, if that's your interest, and other apps/service, such as LogMeIn Ignition, that allow you to do more administration functions from your iPad or, as with the Casper suite from JAMF Software, manage your iPad from another system.

You cannot plug in to the USB as many people would like to do. It can only be used as network drive.
If the TC is not going to be part of the network.. just in bridge to the main router is fine.. then it is very hard to set two networks. It is possible but as g_wolfman has stated, it is far from great in that role.. USB drives are cheap as, faster than TC and more reliable with TM.

Hi folks, I've gone ahead and modified the 3.4 SDK to support the use of the Text Layout Framework using the standard components (minus input fields like TextInput). Very simply put I modified the UITextField.as file to grab the location of the text field and float a TLF sprite above it. Handling several of the events was tough, and came with tradeoffs, but it worked out to be a good solution for us. There are several new styles all starting with TLFxxx to handle for styling correctly.
Just want to give back to the community in hopes that someone will make this quirky hack even better. It saved us a lot of time/trouble/money in the end.
I put together a zip file with the SDK changes (basically 3 files). Just merge this with the 3.4 SDK and build and you're in business:

I have an iPhone 4 and a iPad 2. On both devices I have iMovie. Many times I take video with the iPhone as it's more handy but it's harder to edit it on it.
I would like then to transfer the movie to the iPad to edit it using iMovie.

I have the same question but with a clarification. I owned a BB until recently and have the BOSE blue tooth headset. The sound quality was fantastic with the BB but it seems to be significantly less so with the iPhone 4S. Yes, I know it seems silly. Personally I think it's a bug that these essentially unrelated things should be connected.
Try this:
1. Open an image.
2. Click the foreground color patch in the tools bar.
3. Right-click on the image somewhere. What's your sample size?
4. Change it to Point Sample.
5. Cancel the Color Picker.
Now your magic wand should work better.

Can macbookpro be used with the lid closed while using multiple external monitors

I want to use macbook pro with external monitors and be able to close the lid on the laptop, but can't figure out how to make that works with multiple monitors. I currently use two external monitors with the laptop monitor as my third. All are independent monitors and I accomplish this using the matrox diamond bvu-195 product (one for each external monitor). Now I would like to add a third external monitor and be able to close the laptop lid - kind of like you would do with a docking station for a Windows laptop. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to accomplish this?

Connecting your present two external displays via USB has left your MBP's Mini-DisplayPort available for a third. Depending on the monitor's available inputs, buy a mini-Displayport-to-VGA, MDP-to-DVI, or MDP-to-HDMI adapter and the appropriate cable to make the connection. I would expect that adding a third monitor to your GPU's workload might cause your already slow USB-connected monitors to slow down farther, but you'll have to see whether that's true and, if so, how tolerable it is in your work.
As for what will happen when you close the built-in display, I suspect that what happens if you do that now will continue to happen if you do it with a third monitor connected. If you can now close the display and run the machine in closed-clamshell mode, I expect you'll still be able to do so after adding the third external screen.

Can Iphoto be used with the photos already stored on my current ext hard drive?

I have stored thousands of photos on my passport external hard drive over the years.
Recently I bought an Imac and I like the idea of using iPhoto as the program, however I would like to keep all my photos on my external hard drive. These current photos have been organised in folders already.
How can I start using iPhoto so that it sees my current photos on this ext hard drive? (I've already reformatted my passport to OS/X journaled)
Any specific help would be much appreciated.

first off - I'm not sure where you got the idea that a referenced library is recommended - it is not - in fact it is very strongly NOT recommended - re-resd the link I gave you - expecially
At face value, and especially for new users and folks who are migrating from Windows or Linux systems the second, Referenced mode seems more attractive.

And you really are not understanding how iphoto works
iPhoto is not a photo viewer - it is a SQLite Database program and can only work with photos imported into its database - see iPhoto and File Management for more information
I'm guessing you are looking inside the iPhoto library - you never ever go into the contents of the iPhoto library
iPhoto totally replaces the finder (a file manager rather than a photo manager ) for the photos you import - if you want to manage and access files then you can not use iPhoto - you need a different photos system

Is a Flipbelt safe to use with the iPhone 5s?

I've heard stories of the iPhone 5's aluminum frame bending in back pockets. Has anyone used the 5 or 5s safely with a Flipbelt as a running accessory?

I own an iPhone 5s and use the Flipbelt daily. It is a spandex type material and will not remotely bend the phone. In fact it will not even scratch the phone. I wear the Flipbelt around my hips with the phone in the front. Even if I position the phone on my back, there isn't a way to put force on the phone due to where the belt is located on your body (even when you sit down). The Flipbelt rocks for running, walking, and working out. Give it a try.
